Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of brand image, brand awareness, brand trust, and halal labeling on purchasing decisions at Rocket Chicken outlets in Purwokerto. Indonesia’s fast-food industry continues to grow rapidly, increasing competition among halal fried chicken brands. This quantitative research involved 110 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using SPSS 26 with descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression. The results show that brand image (β = 0.369; t = 5.380; Sig = 0.000), brand trust (β = 0.234; t = 2.085; Sig = 0.040), and halal labeling (β = 0.239; t = 2.380; Sig = 0.019) significantly and positively affect purchasing decisions. Meanwhile, brand awareness (β = 0.153; t = 1.445; Sig = 0.151) does not have a significant effect. The regression model obtained is Y = –1.460 + 0.369X₁ + 0.153X₂ + 0.234X₃ + 0.239X₄ + e. In conclusion, the study provides quantitative evidence that purchasing decisions at Rocket Chicken are primarily driven by brand image, consumer trust, and halal certification, while awareness alone is insufficient. These findings offer strategic implications for improving marketing effectiveness in the fast-food sector.

Abstract

The mangupa-upa tradition is one form of oral tradition that is still preserved and practiced in the life of the Mandailing community, especially in Sei Deras Hulu Village, Rokan Hulu Regency. This tradition does not only function as a customary procession but also contains cultural values that are transmitted through spoken expressions known as hata-hata. This study aims to examine the meanings and functions of hata-hata in the mangupa-upa oral tradition. The research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The data consist of hata-hata expressions used in the mangupa-upa procession, which are analyzed based on categories of spiritual, social, and moral meanings, as well as ritual, social, and educational functions. The results show that hata-hata in the mangupa-upa tradition contain spiritual meanings related to safety and the balance of the soul (tondi), social meanings emphasizing harmony and kinship relations, and moral meanings that teach maturity and strength of character. In addition, hata-hata function as a ritual medium, a means of reinforcing social order, and a tool for cultural education. In conclusion, the mangupa-upa tradition not only serves as an oral tradition but also as a cultural practice that plays an important role in maintaining the spiritual, social, and moral balance of the Mandailing community.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and determine the effectiveness of the post-disaster recovery socioeconomic assistance program in Pandeglang Regency, Banten Province, and to identify the factors that support and hinder the effectiveness of the socioeconomic assistance program in post-disaster recovery efforts in Pandeglang Regency, Banten Province. The focus of the study is on the implementation of the 2020 economic assistance program and the 2021 social assistance program, as well as the identification of supporting and inhibiting factors. The approach used is a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, documentation studies, and field observations of policy implementers, beneficiary groups, and relevant stakeholders. Data analysis was conducted descriptively using Edy Sutrisno's (2010) program effectiveness theory with effectiveness measurement indicators in the form of program understanding, target accuracy, timeliness, goal achievement, and tangible changes. The results of the study show that the implementation of post-disaster socioeconomic assistance programs has not been effective. Of the five indicators, two indicate ineffective results, namely goal achievement, and tangible changes, while the indicators of program understanding, target accuracy, timeliness indicate effective results. The factors supporting the effectiveness of the socioeconomic assistance program are coordination and cooperation between BNPB and the implementation team, program socialization, supervision/monitoring by BNPB, and the capacity of human resources/the implementation team. Meanwhile, the factors hindering the effectiveness of the post-disaster socioeconomic assistance program in Pandeglang Regency include suboptimal product marketing support, the absence of technical regulations that form the basis for local government support, the characteristics of the program beneficiaries, and the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

CLIL is now used in many educational settings, yet the role of the language teacher within CLIL is still not always clear, especially for those who were trained primarily as ELT practitioners. In many EFL contexts, language teachers are suddenly expected to work with subject content, support content lessons, or cooperate with subject teachers, often without much preparation for this shift. From experience in classrooms and teacher training, this transition is rarely smooth. Teachers frequently express concerns about their level of subject knowledge, about losing focus on language, or about not knowing how far their familiar ELT techniques can be adapted for content-based work. These concerns tend to surface repeatedly in training sessions and reflective discussions. This article looks at these practical issues rather than at CLIL theory alone and argues that the problem is not a lack of content expertise. Instead, the main challenge lies in how teachers understand their role in content-driven instruction. The article suggests that language teachers contribute most effectively to CLIL when they focus on mediating meaning through language, interaction, and task design. It outlines practical directions for teacher preparation that build on existing ELT skills and experience, rather than expecting language teachers to become subject specialists

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the level of ICAO English language proficiency among Air Traffic Controllers (ATCs) at Jakarta Air Traffic Service Centre (JATSC). English proficiency is a critical requirement to ensure effective communication, safety, and efficiency in air traffic operations as mandated by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). This research employs a quantitative approach with a causal associative design. Data were collected through structured questionnaires distributed to 92 active ATCs at JATSC. The independent variables examined include frequency of English usage, work experience, English language training, and learning motivation, while ICAO English proficiency serves as the dependent variable. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression analysis to identify both partial and simultaneous effects of the independent variables. The results show that all examined factors significantly influence ICAO English proficiency, both individually and collectively. Among these variables, work experience and frequency of English usage have the strongest effect on proficiency levels. The study concludes that ICAO English proficiency is influenced not only by formal training, but also by consistent operational practice, accumulated professional experience, and strong individual motivation. These findings emphasize the importance of continuous language exposure and integrated competency development programs to support aviation safety.

Abstract

AirNav Indonesia plays a strategic role in ensuring safe and efficient air traffic operations, particularly at the Jakarta Air Traffic Service Center (JATSC), which operates in a complex and high-risk environment. This study aims to examine the impact of On-the-Job Training (OJT) quality on the competency of new employees at JATSC. OJT quality is assessed through indicators such as curriculum clarity, instructor competence, relevance of training materials, evaluation processes, and feedback mechanisms, while employee competency is measured in terms of technical skills, readiness for independent work, decision-making ability, adaptability to operational pressure, and professionalism. This research adopts a quantitative approach with a descriptive-correlational design. Data were collected from 89 respondents using structured questionnaires, supported by limited observations. The data were analyzed through validity and reliability testing, normality testing, correlation analysis, and simple linear regression. The results show that OJT quality has a positive and significant influence on new employee competency. Higher-quality OJT is associated with improved technical mastery, stronger decision-making capability, and better adaptation to operational demands. The study concludes that effective and well-structured OJT is essential for developing competent personnel who can support aviation safety and operational effectiveness at JATSC

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of socio-demographic factors and human resource capacity on the empowerment of Sasirangan craftsmen in Sasirangan Village, Banjarmasin. A quantitative approach with a survey method was employed, involving 31 craftsmen as respondents. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression after conducting classical assumption tests. The results showed that partially, socio-demographic variables (gender, age, education, income, and length of work) did not have a significant effect on empowerment (p = 0.447 > 0.05). In contrast, human resource capacity (knowledge, leadership, collaboration networks, community appreciation, and information access) had a positive and significant effect on empowerment (p = 0.000 < 0.05) with a regression coefficient of 0.563. Simultaneously, both variables significantly influenced empowerment based on the F-test (p = 0.000 < 0.05). The R Square value of 0.471 indicates that 47.1% of the variation in empowerment is explained by both variables. These findings indicate that craftsmen's empowerment is not determined solely by individual demographic characteristics but is rather influenced by human resource capacity built through training, mentoring, access to information, and institutional networks. Therefore, empowerment programs should prioritize comprehensive human resource capacity strengthening

Abstract

This study is motivated by the persistence of racism in society, which does not always manifest explicitly but is reproduced through communication practices and media representations. The research problem addressed in this study is how racist communication is represented in the film Pengepungan di Bukit Duri. This study aims to analyze the forms of racist communication in the film as a system of meaning operating through verbal and visual signs. The method employed is a qualitative approach using Roland Barthes’ semiotic analysis, which examines meaning at the levels of denotation, connotation, and myth. The data consist of scenes containing racist communication, collected through observation and analyzed purposively. The results show that racist communication is represented through labeling, stereotypes, microaggressions, hate speech, as well as dehumanization and collective violence against the Chinese ethnic group. Within the framework of the race discrimination system, racism operates at the interactional, social, and structural levels, which are interconnected. The novelty of this study lies in its analysis of racism as a communication practice based on a system of signs that is linked to social structures. Thus, the film not only represents conflict but also reveals how racism is normalized through communication. This study contributes to communication studies by positioning racism as a sign-based communicative system linked to broader social structures
