Abstract

Hajj is one of the pillars of Islam that encompasses complex spiritual, social, and legal dimensions. The foundations of tafsir and fiqh serve as the primary basis for understanding and implementing the pilgrimage in accordance with the guidance of the Sharia. This study aims to examine the Qur’anic exegesis and hadits related to hajj, as well as to analyze the construction of hajj jurisprudence from both classical and contemporary scholars’ perspectives. The method employed is library research with a thematic approach, connecting Qur’anic verses, Prophetic traditions, and the opinions of jurists across various schools of thought. The findings reveal that the exegesis of hajj verses emphasizes sincerity, patience, and unity of the ummah, while hajj jurisprudence provides a systematic legal framework concerning the pillars, obligations, recommended acts, and prohibitions in performing hajj. The integration of tafsir and fiqh produces a comprehensive understanding that highlights not only ritual aspects but also universal values such as justice, equality, and solidarity. Thus, the foundations of tafsir and fiqh of hajj become an essential basis for shaping a practice of pilgrimage that is both faithful to the Sharia and relevant to the contemporary context of the Muslim community.

Abstract

Mosques play an important role as centers of worship, da'wah, education, and social activity. The diverse implementation of mosque programs requires effective organizational management through a clear division of tasks. This study aims to analyze the implementation of job descriptions within mosque organizational structures and their influence on mosque activity programs. The research employs a library research method by reviewing literature related to mosque management, organizational structure, and job descriptions. The findings indicate that clear job descriptions improve program effectiveness through well-defined task allocation, better inter-departmental coordination, and increased accountability among mosque administrators. Therefore, job descriptions are an important factor in achieving professional and congregation-oriented mosque management.   Keywords: Job Descriptions, Organizational Structure, Mosque Management, Mosque Administrator.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how waqf management is carried out at the Darunnajah Islamic Boarding School in the context of developing Islamic Education Institutions. The research was carried out using a qualitative methodology approach, where researchers examined documents, made observations and interviewed relevant parties. The data collected was then analyzed descriptively, analytically and reflectively. This research suggests that waqf is a voluntary gift made by Islamic people for the purpose of developing Islamic society. Waqf is a form of worship that is highly recommended not only for individual relationships with God, but also for relationships between humans on this earth. Moreover, waqf can be developed in such a way as to be used as well as possible in accordance with the rules of the Islamic religion. The Darunnajah Islamic Boarding School, which was founded in 1942, has carried out waqf management with a strategic approach that is relevant to developing the resources of the Islamic Education Institution. It is hoped that the waqf management strategy at the Darunnajah Islamic Boarding School in Jakarta can be developed better so that the benefits of waqf can be felt by students, society, and the Indonesian nation.

Abstract

The mosque imam plays a strategic role not only as the leader of congregational prayers but also as a spiritual guide, moral role model, and facilitator of the religious and social life of the congregation. This study aims to analyze the criteria of mosque imams from the perspective of residential mosque caretakers (takmir) and compare them with the views of salaf scholars. The research employed a qualitative approach using an exploratory method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with eight caretakers of residential mosques in Sidoarjo and Gresik. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification. The findings indicate that mosque caretakers prioritize several criteria in selecting imams, including proper Qur’anic recitation according to tajwid rules, understanding of prayer jurisprudence, good moral character, discipline, communication skills, and social concern for the congregation. Among these criteria, moral character and exemplary conduct were considered the most important aspects. The study also reveals a strong alignment between the perspectives of mosque caretakers and the views of salaf scholars, who emphasize the principles of al-quwwah (competence) and al-amanah (integrity) in imam selection. This study is expected to serve as a practical reference for mosque management in determining appropriate standards for imams in modern residential communities.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between service ethics and pilgrim satisfaction through a conceptual synthesis that integrates service quality theory (SERVQUAL) with Islamic ethical principles. The approach used is qualitative with a literature review method of relevant national and international journals and academic books. The analysis was conducted using content analysis and thematic analysis based on the dimensions of reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and physical evidence, as well as the values of trustworthiness, ihsan, and social responsibility. The results of the study show that the satisfaction of Hajj pilgrims is multidimensional, covering functional, emotional, and spiritual aspects. Service quality integrated with Islamic ethical values has been proven to strengthen trust, increase positive perceptions, and shape a more meaningful worship experience. Service ethics is not only a complement but also the core of the religious service management system. This study produced a conceptual framework that emphasizes that the harmonization of technical competence and moral integrity of guides is a key factor in increasing pilgrim satisfaction. Theoretically, this study enriches the study of Islamic value-based service management, and practically provides strategic direction for a more holistic and congregation satisfaction-oriented management of KBIH services.

Abstract

This study aims to analysis the evolution of Da'wah media management in Indonesia, from the use of manuscripts to the transition to the digital era. Da’wah media transformation is not simply a change in tools, but rather a fundamental transformation in the communication management strategies of da’wah institutions. Using literature study and historical analysis, this study explores how da'wah management has adapted to technological changes over time. The research findings indicate that da'wah media management has undergone three main stages of evolution: the elitist era of manuscripts and print literacy, the era of conventional broadcasting that expanded mass reach, and the interactive and decentralized digital era. This shift requires da'wah institutions to reorient their management, including more adaptive content planning, organizing technologically literate human resources, and controlling the quality of information amidst the flood of data. This article provides a theoretical contribution to the development of da'wah management by presenting a historically based media adaptation framework. The results of this analysis are expected to serve as a reference for da’wah institution management in developing relevant communication strategies amidst the sustain development dynamics of information technology.

Abstract

Digital communication governance plays a strategic role in boosting zakat fund collection. This study aims to analyze digital communication strategies and their effectiveness in increasing zakat collection. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the study gathered data through document analysis, observation of zakat institutions' communication activities, and a literature review on governance and public communication. The results indicate that zakat institutions implementing principles of information transparency, two-way dialogue, and digital media utilization tend to achieve higher levels of zakat collection. However, challenges persist regarding the consistency of information dissemination, limited digital literacy among some mustahik (beneficiaries), and suboptimal public feedback mechanisms. These findings underscore the importance of integrating good governance with participatory digital communication strategies to enhance the effectiveness of zakat management and boost zakat collection by BAZNAS.  Keywords: Governance, Digital Communication, zakat
