Abstract

Sexual violence is a social issue that still occurs in Indonesia. Responding to this issue, social activists urged the government to ratify the Draft Law on the Elimination of Sexual Violence proposed by the National Women’s Commission in 2016. However, as of August 2021, the Draft Law on the Elimination of Sexual Violence changed its name to the Draft Law on the Sexual Violence Crime, and there were cuts of 85 articles and from 9 to 4 categories of sexual violence. Even though it was passed on May 9, 2022, along the way, there has been controversy over the process of making this law. One controversy is the differences in the views categories between the National Women's Commission and Commission VIII DPR RI. Then by using prototype theory, we can find the categories of sexual violence in society to equalize perceptions. Data analysis uses mixed methods, which analyze data quantitatively and qualitatively. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that there were ten classifications of sexual violence prototypes from 20 respondents, with a total of 61 data samples. The prototypes that best represent the concept of sexual violence are rape and sexual harassment, with 17 data each. Furthermore, sexual harassment and rape, the prototypes of sexual violence with each of the 17 data, are spread almost evenly across all age ranges.

This study focused on two educators in the seventh and eighth grades who used information and communication technology (ICT) into their English lessons. The findings of this study indicate that English instructors make use of many technological tools in their lessons, such as lcd monitors, laptops, speakers, the internet, google classroom, email, whatsapp, facebook, instagram, youtube, power point presentations, focus keys, Microsoft Word, and podcasts. The instructors favored using technology because it kept the students motivated and interested, as well as because it assisted the instructors in displaying materials, sending assignments, and providing notifications everywhere. According to the findings of the research described above, one may draw the conclusion that the integration of technology, specifically ICT, into the educational process has made it easier for educators to present, design, and develop instructional material and tools that are helpful for students' learning motivation.

Abstract

This research explores the intricate dynamics of linguistic diversity in junior high school education with the goal of shedding light on the experiences of students from diverse language origins. The study highlights the significance of acknowledging and valuing the different linguistic environments inside educational settings, as Bahasa Indonesia is predominantly used by 18 out of 30 students, alongside other languages such as Lampungnese and Javanese. The investigation on communication comfort uncovers that most students feel comfortable while using their native language but sometimes experience discomfort during intricate talks, highlighting the need for customised teaching methods. The challenges encountered by students, such as comprehending instructions and experiencing emotions of exclusion, emphasise the practical and emotional aspects of language diversity, hence requiring comprehensive support solutions. The importance of diverse instructional techniques is emphasised by a preference for interactive teaching methods and visual aids. The importance of teacher assistance is highlighted, as students emphasise the need to acknowledge and appreciate linguistic variety while also suggesting the provision of customised materials. The curriculum should accurately reflect the diverse cultural context, requiring a fair and comprehensive approach. Students' proactive use of solutions to overcome linguistic challenges demonstrates their perseverance and ingenuity. Ultimately, this research supports the implementation of inclusive strategies that recognise and address the unique requirements of linguistically varied junior high school children. It aims to create settings that embrace and appreciate linguistic variety
