Abstract

Forced marriage has been identified as one of the primary causes of marital failure. This study aims to delve into the social, cultural, and economic factors that drive the practice of forced marriage in the Bades community. Employing a case study approach, this research reveals the following: Firstly, the tradition of arranged marriages without the consent of the child is common among the mountainous people of Bades, leading to the stigmatization of unmarried women over the age of 18 as "old maids". Secondly, forced marriage has a detrimental impact on women, including psychological distress, loss of educational opportunities, limited career prospects, marital discord, domestic violence, and economic instability. Although some forced marriages endure, the majority of women in Bades face hardships and suffering due to pressure from their families.

Abstract

The implementation of Aswaja courses at the Islamic University of Jember (UIJ) in forming students' Wasathiyah Islamic character (Islamic moderation) is the main subject of this study. The primary study issue is how UIJ's Aswaja course model helps students develop a moderate Islamic character and how well the university has done at doing so. This research will employ a case study with a qualitative approach and provides a detailed examination of a specific environment, object, or collection of documents or events. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher conducts field observations, structured or unstructured interviews with key personnel at the Islamic University of Jember, and document analysis to supplement data. Data collection will occur in a natural setting, with the researcher observing without prior arrangement, aiming for their presence to maximize the study's objectives effectively. The integration of Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah values in education at the Islamic University of Jember (UIJ), who revealed various strategies and policies the university employs to internalize Aswaja values in every aspect of education, it was found that Aswaja values such as moderation (tawasuth), balance (tawazun), tolerance (tasamuh), and justice (i'tidal) are systematically implemented in both credit-based and non-credit curricula, including courses outside the religious field. UIJ has designed teaching methods that encourage students to not only understand these values theoretically but also apply them in daily life, achieved through a student-centered learning (SCL) approach that facilitates dialogue, inquiry, and material exploration by students.

Abstract

Laduni science has long been recognized within society, often perceived as a form of knowledge granting its possessor an infallible grasp of truth and insight into unseen realities. However, this perception is overly simplistic, as individuals endowed with laduni knowledge are not inherently free from error nor exempt from the need for continuous learning and self-improvement. This study examines the interpretation of laduni knowledge, explores its differing and overlapping perspectives, and analyzes its Sufi and socio-socialist orientations based on the term ladunna 'ilman in Q.S. Al-Kahf [18]: 65. Using a comparative approach, the study contrasts the Tafsir al-Munir Marah Labid, employing a global (ijmali) method with a Sufi emphasis, and the Tafsir al-Mishbah, characterized by an al-Adabi al-Ijtima'i style. Findings reveal that laduni knowledge aligns with scientific principles and is amenable to rational explanation.

Abstract

Contemporary da'wah is not only interpreted as the transformation of Islamic values through lectures between da'i and mad'u, more than that, da'wah must be a driver and motivator in a modernization movement as an antidote to negative access through political access. This study uses a literature review method by exploring various literature that examines da'wah studies, data obtained from books, journal articles, theses and papers. Data analysis is carried out by synthesizing information from various sources to form a comprehensive picture of the research topic. The results of the study show that da'wah must absorb various dimensions of life and all aspects related to society, including political activities. In the process, da'wah views that Islam cannot be separated from politics and is also a very complete religion in regulating all human life, including religion and state affairs. This is the joint of totality in Islam which in the practice of life must be applied. There is a moral responsibility carried by Islam when it appears as a religion that perfects previous religions. In addition, da'wah is a reconstruction of society by including values that are in accordance with Islamic teachings.

Abstract

AbstractThe Dandangan tradition is a tradition that has existed since the time of the Sunan Kudus to welcome the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan. The Dandangan tradition in Kudus is still preserved every year. Unfortunately, this tradition had to be tainted by some non-moderate religious figures by accusing the implementation of this tradition of heresy. The purpose of this study is to find out the history of the Dandangan tradition in Kudus as a living hadith to welcome the holy month of Ramadan. This research uses a qualitative research method with an ethnographic approach. Data is collected through literature review, observation, and in-depth observation. The data were analyzed using functional structural proximity. The results showed that the existence of Islam is an inseparable part of the Kudus community so the implementation of welcoming the holy month of Ramadan alone has become a tradition of the Kudus community known as the Dandangan tradition. The function of this tradition is nothing but an expression of gratitude for the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan and a means of social interaction that increases the homogeneity of the Kudus community in one social identity. Keywords: Tradition, Ramadan, Hadith.

Abstract

This research aims to discover the da'wah messages on Muhammad Faizar's Official YouTube channel. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research method. This type of research is used to discover and understand research procedures that produce descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from research subjects and observable behaviour. Research involves text, video, images and so on so that you can find out the content of thoughts and meanings related to a particular social context. Therefore, in this discussion, Ustadz Muhammad Faizar conveyed the Sunnahs that Rasulullah SAW adhered to when carrying out travel activities, such as leaving the house to recite the tawakal prayer (Bismillaahi tawakkaltu 'alallaah, laa haula wa laa quwwata illaa billaah), passing over hills. The road says "Allahu Akbar" and the road down "Subhanallah". The informant also said climbing mountains is sunnah because climbing mountains is a travelling activity. It also discusses the myths found on Mount Slamet, such as the myth of the Sri Kedasih bird in Samarantu. Discussion of the Pos Slamet Cave is seen from an Islamic perspective by the Al-Qur'an and As-Sunnah. By focusing on the da'wah messages conveyed in the context of the Mount Slamet expedition, this research contributes to understanding da'wah practised in travel or safari situations, which aligns with the sunnah practices taught in Islam.
