Abstract

. Sand sea cucumbers are known as a basic ingredient for medicines because of their protein content. This can trigger the exploitation of sand sea cucumbers, which will impact fishermen's income. This research aims to determine the effect of giving mangrove leaves and to determine the correct dose on the growth of sand sea cucumbers (Holothuria Scabra). The design of this study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), where the treatment given was A. marina (Api-api Putih) mangrove leaves fermented with EM4 at different doses, namely 4 treatments with 3 replications. Treatment A: Feeding Avicennia marina (White api-api) mangrove leaves at a dose of 310 grams/container, Treatment B: Feeding A. marina (White api-api) mangrove leaves at a dose of 320 grams/container, Treatment C: Feeding mangrove leaves A. marina (White fire) dose of 330 grams/container, and Treatment D: Feeding mangrove leaves A. marina (White fire) dose of 340 grams/container. The research results showed that the highest growth was in treatment C with a value of 72 grams, followed by treatment B with a value of 31.66 grams, treatment A 16.66 grams, and treatment D with a value of 6.66 grams as the lowest growth. The results of the anova analysis showed P>0.05% and 0.01%, meaning that the treatment had a real effect. The BNT test results showed that there was a difference between treatment C and treatments A, B and D. Thus, treatment C had optimal weight growth. The results of the average survival percentage of sand sea cucumbers obtained showed that treatments A, B, C and D had similar value results, amounting to 100%. The results of the water quality parameters were obtained, the temperature range was 27-280C, salinity 29-32 ppt, and pH between 7.6-8.0.

Abstract

Research conducted in the period April to June 2022 at the Oesapa Fish Pond Installation, East Nusa Tenggara Province Maritime and Fisheries Service aims to assess the impact of adding fermented coconut dregs and fine bran to milkfish (Chanos chanos) feed. Another objective is to determine the most effective amount of these two ingredients in milkfish feed. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method with 4 treatments and was carried out in triplets. The four treatments tested were as follows: Treatments A, B, C and D respectively, namely providing commercial feed with the addition of a mixture of coconut dregs and fine bran at 0, 20, 30 and 40%. Research shows that treatment D, namely providing commercial feed with the addition of a mixture of coconut dregs and fine bran as much as 40%, provides the best results for the growth of milkfish (C. chanos). The absolute weight growth reached 19.29 g, the survival rate reached 100%, indicating that the milkfish in treatment D had an optimal survival rate. Thus, it can be concluded that the addition of coconut dregs and fine bran as much as 40% in fish food is the most effective dose to increase the survival and growth of milkfish (C. chanos) in this study.

Abstract

Waste refers to materials that are no longer needed and, if not managed properly, can have a negative impact on society. Waste water, both from industry and households (domestic), if not managed properly, can have a negative impact on health. Salt water waste (bittern) is a type of thick liquid that is produced after the salt production process in salt ponds and can be abundant in quantity. Artemia, on the other hand, is a type of natural food that is often used in rearing shrimp and fish larvae, both in marine and fresh water throughout Indonesia. Artemia has high nutritional content, especially protein and amino acids. This study aims to assess the impact of using salt water waste on the hatchability of Artemia salina cysts. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments repeated three times. The results showed that the use of salt water waste had a significant impact on the hatchability of Artemia salina cysts. In certain treatments, the use of 500 ml of salt water waste resulted in the highest hatchability of 7.25%, as found in the control group.

Abstract

Fish need a specific environment as a habitat to grow and develop. Environmental conditions can change, so this becomes a challenge for fish to maintain homeostasis in the fish's body. Two factors influence the physiological condition of fish, namely internal and external factors. Information regarding fish physiology is needed as one of the factors that are the centre of attention in proper cultivation to support the productivity of commercial fish cultivation. Environmental changes such as pollution significantly affect the physiological condition of fish, and supplementing fish food can also support the fish's body metabolism. This article review study describes important factors that can influence the physiological response of fish and provides three case studies of commercially farmed fish when exposed to toxic substances or the provision of organic substances in feed. The data used is secondary data using journals from previous research and grouping topics regarding environmental factors and case studies on grouper fish in the Serranidae family.

Abstract

This research was experimental in nature which was carried out by observing the response and behavior of cantang grouper to the color of the light. The research was carried out by spreading food in containers with different colored lights. From the food spread in containers with different lights, we can see the response and behavior shown by the cantang grouper to each color of light. Apart from that, research was also carried out to determine the level of cannibalism and mortality rates in each container with different lights. This research is using experimental method. The research design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with 4 treatments and 3 replications using blue, yellow-green and no light. The research was carried out by measuring water quality 3 times a day, starting in the morning, afternoon and evening for 14 days of research. The conclusion of the research is that outside its natural habitat the best response and behavior is when living in a blue treatment container (treatment A). It is thought that in blue light the cantang grouper feels like it is in its natural habitat. Apart from that, blue light also reduces the level of cannibalism in cantang grouper fish compared to green and yellow light, and no light. Keywords: Light, cantang grouper, cannibalism, mortality, behavior.
