Abstract

Inclusive education requires prospective teachers to be prepared to establish equal communication with all students, including Deaf and hard-of-hearing learners. However, in practice, Elementary Education students still face limitations in mastering Indonesian Sign Language (Bisindo), hindering effective inclusive communication. This situation underscores the importance of a community service program focused on strengthening inclusive communication competencies for prospective elementary school teachers. This community service activity aims to improve Elementary Education students’ readiness for inclusive teaching through an Indonesian Sign Language (Bisindo) workshop. The method employed is a participatory community service approach involving Elementary Education students as participants, the Deaf community, and sign language interpreters as activity partners. The program included delivery of basic Bisindo material, direct communication practice, and reflective learning experiences. Data were collected through observation during the activities, reflective interviews with participants, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The results indicate an increase in students’ understanding of inclusive communication concepts, basic Bisindo skills, and the development of empathy and openness toward student diversity. Overall, this activity contributes significantly to preparing prospective teachers who are more responsive and ready to implement inclusive teaching in elementary schools.

Abstract

The community service program in Karangrejo Village, Gumukmas District, Jember, focuses on strengthening religious literary literacy through hadrah education and Islamic syiiran. This initiative was driven by the limited creativity of local youth in composing new religious lyrics and the absence of systematic strategies for digitalization and promotion of Islamic arts. The program was carried out through observation, problem mapping, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), training, and intensive mentoring for four months. The results show that the Majelis Sholawat Mansub Ratibul Haddad community has successfully developed independence in creating new religious lyrics inspired by stories of Uwais Al-Qarni, Sunan Kalijaga, Qorun, and KH. Ahmad Shiddiq. This creative process demonstrates the transformation of religious narratives into oral literary works with educational, spiritual, and aesthetic functions. The outcomes confirm that participatory facilitation empowers village youth to become producers of new works rather than mere consumers of tradition. These findings highlight the importance of religious literary literacy as a medium to strengthen cultural identity, revitalize moral values, and promote community-based religious edutourism.

Abstract

The establishment of 153 Red and White Subdistrict Cooperatives in the city of Surabaya in response to Presidential Instruction No. 29 of 2025 faced the main challenge of a lack of understanding and preparedness among administrators, particularly deputy chairpersons for membership, due to the rapid and sudden nature of the process. Socialization and technical guidance activities were carried out in stages from November 3 to 12, 2025, at the Siola Convention Hall, Surabaya, involving deputy chairpersons for membership from all Red and White Subdistrict Cooperatives using lectures, discussions, pre-tests, and post-tests consisting of 20 questions. The results showed a significant increase from an average pre-test score of 81.94 to a post-test score of 92.55 (an increase of 12.96%), proving the effectiveness of the training in strengthening knowledge about the duties, regulations, and management of cooperatives. This intervention addressed the information gap, increased member participation, and supported the economic independence of the village. Overall, the training became a sustainable foundation for the Red and White Subdistrict Cooperatives to realize inclusive economic growth in line with the national vision, with recommendations for further training for other administrators.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in promoting economic growth and employment absorption. However, many MSME actors in Rungkut District, Surabaya City, still do not have business legality, particularly the Business Identification Number (Nomor Induk Berusaha/NIB). This condition is caused by a low level of understanding regarding the importance of business legality and limited ability to use the online business licensing system through the Online Single Submission Risk-Based Approach (OSS-RBA). Therefore, this community service activity aims to enhance the knowledge and capacity of MSME actors in managing business legality through the issuance of NIB. The implementation methods include delivering materials on the importance of business legality, training on the use of the OSS-RBA platform, direct assistance in the NIB registration process, and activity evaluation. The results indicate an increase in MSMEs' understanding of the importance of business legality as well as an improvement in participants' ability to obtain NIB, with most participants successfully acquiring NIB after the mentoring activities. This activity is expected to encourage greater business formalization and strengthen the competitiveness of MSMEs in Rungkut District.

Abstract

The FunTax Learning Program: Interactive Tax Education through Animated Videos is a community service initiative aimed at improving tax literacy among students and young people. Low levels of tax understanding are largely caused by the technical nature of tax materials and their limited adaptation to the learning characteristics of the digital generation. This condition highlights the need for more communicative and engaging educational media innovations. The program was implemented through the development of educational animated videos based on visual learning approaches. The activity stages included tax material planning, simple script writing, animated video production by students, and dissemination through social media platforms. This approach was designed to simplify basic tax concepts using clear academic language supported by easily understood visual elements. The results indicate the availability of animated video-based tax education media that can be widely utilized as alternative learning resources. The FunTax Learning Program confirms that integrating digital technology into community service activities is effective in enhancing early tax understanding and awareness, while also contributing to the sustainable strengthening of public tax literacy

Abstract

Village tourism is increasingly viewed as strategic because it not only drives economic growth but also preserves culture and the environment. Tompo Bulu Village in Pangkep Regency has natural tourism potential in the form of hills, trekking trails, waterfalls, and caves, but the lack of navigation infrastructure makes it difficult for tourists. Through the 2025 National Community Service Program (KKN Kebangsaan XIII), participatory community service was conducted, involving students and local residents in installing nature trail markers. The implementation method included field observation, village deliberations, design, construction, and installation of signs, as well as evaluation through route trials. Additionally, pre- and post-tests were conducted to gauge community understanding of the importance of tourism navigation and sustainable destination management. The results of the activity resulted in the installation of 11 identity boards and directions at strategic points leading to Mount Batu Pute, Tombolo Waterfall, and Goa Passosoang Tunabbaka. The impact was seen in increased tourist accessibility, strengthened visual identity of the destination, digital promotion through social media, and the growth of local micro-business opportunities. Theoretical analysis shows that this simple intervention supports the principles of Community-Based Tourism, strengthens the destination's image, and paves the way for sustainable ecotourism. This activity faced limitations of time, funding, and material durability, yet it succeeded in making a real contribution to the transformation of Tompo Bulu into a tourist village.

Abstract

The community service program carried out through the Community Service Program (KKN) of Universitas Sembilanbelas November Kolaka aims to address the low level of financial literacy and the increasing incidence of bullying among students in Tontonunu Village. Limited access to information, insufficient understanding of the functions and value of the Rupiah, and the lack of awareness of the socio-psychological impacts of bullying make CBPR (Love, Proud, Understand Rupiah) and Anti Bullying education highly relevant and necessary. The community service activities were implemented through participatory socialization, group discussions, and interactive question and answer sessions. The evaluation of program effectiveness employed pre-test and post-test instruments, observation sheets, interviews, and field documentation. The results indicated an improvement in students’ knowledge regarding the authenticity features of the Rupiah, responsible financial behavior, and understanding of the forms and impacts of bullying. Participants also demonstrated positive changes in communication patterns and increased empathy toward others. These findings emphasize that participatory-based education can provide tangible impacts in strengthening students’ financial literacy and social awareness. Overall, the program significantly contributes to fostering positive character development and promoting a healthier and safer educational environment free from bullying.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) remains a public health problem in Indonesia and has the potential to cause an Extraordinary Event (KLB) if not accompanied by appropriate mitigation efforts. The school environment is one of the locations at high risk for DHF transmission due to high student activity and environmental conditions that support the breeding of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. This Community Service Activity aims to determine the effectiveness of DHF Outbreak mitigation education on the knowledge of students of SMA Negeri 1 Kutalimbaru. This service uses a quantitative approach with a one-group pre-experimental pretest-posttest design. The sample of the service was 34 grade X students. Knowledge measurement was carried out through a pretest before education and a posttest after education on DHF Outbreak mitigation based on the 3M Plus Movement. The results of this community service activity show that the percentage of students with good knowledge category in the pretest was 26.47%, increasing to 67.65% in the posttest. The average knowledge score increased from 9.21 ± 1.38 to 11.03 ± 0.94. The results of the paired t-test showed a p value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between students' knowledge before and after education. Dengue Fever Outbreak mitigation education has been proven effective in increasing students' knowledge and needs to be carried out continuously as an effort to prevent dengue fever outbreaks in the school environment
