Abstract

This research is based on one of the current problems of early childhood education, namely the weakness of the learning process, which can facilitate all children in developing abilities and interests with varied, holistic, and conceptual learning models so that it can encourage children to develop the ability to think critically, creatively, independently and Motivated to complete every challenge. Educational institutions still use teacher-centered learning rather than children's needs, prioritizing memorization rather than needs and meaningfulness. Currently, it is mandatory for learning teachers to make learning activities more creative, innovative and not monotonous by using learning models that are more meaningful for children. Teachers can learn from various platforms provided by the government and can apply them according to the conditions of educators, children, and the institution itself. One of them uses a project-based learning model, where this learning model is one of the models used in the curriculum that facilitates children's needs so that children can learn in a fun and meaningful way, namely the Merdeka curriculum. The research aims to determine the implementation of the project-based learning model in stimulating language development in early childhood. The research subject focused on group A4 students at RA Istiqlal Jakarta. The data collection technique is qualitative descriptive with research time from September to December 2023. The research results show that the project-based learning model effectively stimulates children's development, including language development at RA Istiqlal Jakarta.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the influence of picture storybooks on children's language skills at TKN 1 Selat Penuguan. This research employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population for this study comprised all 17 students from Group B at TKN 1 Selat Penuguan. The sampling technique utilized was total sampling, consisting of all 17 TKN 1 Selat Penuguan students. The instrument used in this study was an observation sheet for children's language abilities. In this research, the dependent variable consisted of two variables: before and after. Consequently, a paired sample t-test was conducted to analyze the data using SPSS software. The study's results indicated a significant difference in the mean language ability scores before and after the implementation of picture storybooks, confirming the effectiveness of this learning medium in enhancing children's language development. This study aligns with previous research findings that also discovered a positive correlation between the use of picture storybooks and early childhood language development.

Abstract

Early childhood science learning must be adapted to the child's developmental stage. The science learning stage is still at the stage of recognizing and mixing colors. This research aims to determine the ability to identify science skills in early childhood through experimental activities of mixing colors at Al-Furqan Kindergarten. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques using observation and documentation. The research results show that children's ability to experiment with science through color mixing activities is very good, marked by children's ability to experiment, namely by observing, classifying, comparing, measuring, communicating and concluding. This is caused by teachers involving children directly in science experiment activities, so that children are more excited and then start doing simple experiments by mixing colors. This science experiment activity through mixing colors goes through a process of preparation, implementation and evaluation. The teacher prepares what is needed for this activity and carries out the activity according to what has been planned, then evaluates what are the shortcomings for carrying out the next science experimental activity. Meanwhile, the science process skills are observing, classifying, comparing, measuring, communicating, experimenting and concluding.

Abstract

Early childhood cognitive development is a very important and decisive phase. This ability refers to the ability of children to use certain symbols or representations to describe objects that are not in front of them. Through symbolic thinking skills, children can begin to develop the ability to think abstractly and imaginatively. This is an important foundation that will support their ability to think critically and creatively in the future. This research uses qualitative descriptive research. The subjects in this research were 23 children from KB Paud Aisyiah 02 Tambakromo. The data in this research was collected through several techniques, namely observation, interviews and documentation. The data obtained in this research was collected and analyzed using thematic analysis techniques with data analysis steps including Data Reduction, Data Presentation, and Conclusion Drawing. The result obtained is that symbolic thinking ability is one of the initial stages in the development of pre-operational thinking. At this stage, children begin to be able to mentally imagine an object even though the object is not present in front of them. Busy jar is a variety of children's games, which consists of jars (jars) that contain game materials and can be used as a means of learning for children. Through loose part-based busy jar learning media, it can help the development of symbolic abilities in early childhood.

Abstract

Learning interest is a students desire and interest in lessons, accompanied by attention and activeness to master the knowledge and experience with pleasure and satisfaction. Concerning the maximum learning outcomes, one of the factors that influence it is interest. In learning actiIIIties, if students have an interest in learning, they will feel learning is very important, therefore they try to focus their attention on matters related to learning actiIIIties and do it with pleasure without coercion from anyone. This study uses quantitative research. The population in the study were 161 students in grades IIIA to III E Catholic Elementary School St. Don Bosco Palangkaraya. The research sample was 30 students who were determined using simple random sampling technique. Research variables are learning interest and learning outcomes. Data collection techniques was using questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis was performed in inferential statistics using the Pearson product moment correlation formula. The results of the study can be described as follows: The correlation value between learning interest and learning outcomes in grade III SDK Santo Don Bosco Palangkaraya is 0.734. This shows a positive correlation. If the correlation value is interpreted by the interpretation table of the correlation coefficient r, then the value is in the correlation interpretation interval 0.80 - 1,000. Thus, the level of the relationship is very strong. This shows that the relationship between student interest is quite good. The coefficient of determination is 53.88%. This shows that the relationship between learning interest and learning outcomes is determined by learning interest and 46.12 is determined by other factors. The significance value between the independent variable and the dependent variable is 5,719. This shows that the calculated t value is greater than the t table value or 5.719> 1.697. Therefore, it is said to be significant between students' learning interest in the Catholic Religion and character Education subjects and student learning outcomes. In that case, Hypothesis Ha: There is a significant relationship between student interest in Catholic Religious and Character Education (X) with student learning outcomes (Y) which have been received.
