Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the cause of traffic jam in Bekasi high and urban transportation (angkot) not orderly passing, sharp decrease to income of Angkot in Bekasi. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with data analysis technique using interview, observation, documentation and triangulation of source. The result of the research, the very high traffic jam in Bekasi is caused by the number of city transportation exceeds the ideal amount, the increase of private vehicles especially motorcycle and road construction such as tolls and housing, flood. The angkot drivers are not orderly in Bekasi because of the chase of the deposit and the lack of angkot passengers and the replacement of the main public transportation drivers, the absence of officers in crowded places such as stations, shopping areas and the lack of strict officers. Revenue angkot very less because of the many rivals such as online-based vehicles, employee buses, school buses and motorcycles.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to analyze the internal and external factors faced by NAM AIR and formulates the strategy to increase the Load Factor. The method was qualitative with observation technique, interview, library research, and SWOT analysis. The result shows that IE matrics for external factors evaluation is 3.04 and the internal is 2.91. It means that NAM AIR is in quadrant II. While NAM AIR is in quadrant I based on the Grand Strategy matrics of strength and weakness factors (1.23) and opportunity and threat factors (0.86). Both results conclude that the best formulated strategy is market penetration.

Abstract

Freight forwarding activities includes both export and import. The issue in this study is the lengthy process of document types of general cargo air export, resulting in the delay of release to customers. The research objective is to determine the core and cause of delay in releasing air export document, and the action of it. Research method used in this study is Logical Framework Approach (LFA) to analyze the factors that cause the delay with problem and objective tree by using a technique SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time bound). Results show an increase in number of shipments towards the end of the observed period (12 months) has been accompanied by an increase in the amount of delay in release air export document caused by the constraint in the work process and systems namely, yet integrated of development process of working with systems used, quality of human resources that not all meet the standards should be. The solutions may fit with existing problems is integrating the development process of working with the systems with supported by the quality of human resources for very competitive so as to expedite the process of release air export documents and increase company profit.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to analyze the effect of the delay arrival of railway to the operational performance of the first regional in Jakarta. To solve the problem, the research used some methods; unstructured data collecting, library research, and companies’ data. While for the data analysis used simple linear regression, basic counting of railway delay arrival and operational performance. The results show that there is an effect of the railway delay arrival (X) as 38.44 to the operational performance of the first regional (Y) with the interpretation of coefficient correlation as 0.62. The results mean that the effect is strong enough.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the relation between idle time and performance of containers’ loading and unloading activities at South Pier of Terminal II Tanjung Priok Port in 2016. Located in North Jakarta, Tanjung Priok Port is the busiest port in Indonesia. This port deals with more than 30% of Indonesia's non-oil and gas commodities, and about 50% of all goods flow in and out of Indonesia through this port. Therefore, Tanjung Priok Port becomes  an economic barometer of Indonesia.. To solve the problems, researchers used 2 methods; they were field data method (field research) and data library (library research). Simple linear regressionanalysis used t-test with consideration and determination. The result of this research shows that there is a strong relationship between idle time and performance of containers’ loading and unloadingactivities , (Y = 7,775 + 0,496X). The result value of r is  77.4% which means there is a strong and positive relationship between idle time variable and containers’ loading and unloading performance. The determinant coefficient of R² is 59.8%, and other determinant is about 40.2%.

Abstract

PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia II (IPC) was born as a follow up of Law No.21 of 1992 regarding port business entity. PT. Pelindo II is one of the state-owned enterprises in the transportation sector engaged in the management and exploitation of public ports. The research objective is to find out how big the influence of quay container crane utilization and productivity of loading and unloading to effectiveness of container vessel. Analysis method used in this research was multiple linear regression analysis, multiple correlation analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, determinant coefficient and hypothesis test (f-test)The result of analysis and discussion between quay container crane utilization and container cargo loading productivity with effective time of container vessel is shown by equation of double linear regression line, that is Y = 10.673 + 0.209X1 - 0.056X2. The value of double correlation R = 0.713, there is a strong and undirectional relationship between independent and dependent variables. Pearson correlation test is worth 0.712, Test coefficient determinant equal to 48% means contribution of X1 and X2 to Y 50.8%, while 49.2% is another factor. From the result of F-test show that F count> F table (4,640> 4,26), hence Ho = rejected and Ha = accepted, there is influence between quay container crane utilization and loading and unloading productivity to effective time of container vessel.

Abstract

Taking into consideration the geographical location of West Sumatra is prone to natural disasters, the Indonesian government and communities should prepare well for dealing with natural disasters that may be happen anytime. One of preparedness needs to be done is to determine the entry point of logistical assistance as well as delivery route during the emergency response phase. Therefore, this research was conducted to plan for the logistics distribution during emergency response, designed by the World Food Program (WFP) as NGOs and leader of the international humanitarian community's logistics coordination and response. This research used a qualitative descriptive analysis technique to describe the airports and ports to be used, as well as the transportation. As the result, Medan nominated as the main entry point for international actors while Jakarta as the main entry point of national actors. Furthermore, routes and modes of transportation that will be used for the delivery of relief items divided into three phases.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the cause of delay cargo and its effect on employee performance. Some business owners in Indonesia, conduct export and import that aims to expand its business branch or to obtain raw materials that are not available in the country to obtain higher quality products. Transportation is the transfer of people or goods from one place to another by using a vehicle driven by man or machine. Sea transport has been chosen by the business owners to send raw materials and finished goods belong to them. Nowadays, demand of export cargo by sea is increase, because shipping cargo using sea transport gives an affordable cost and has a greater capacity than other transport. The writer analyzes the influence of punctuality delivery of export cargo to the level of employee performance in PT Schenker Petrolog Utama, Surabaya branch. The writer used a simple linear regression method with quantitative approach to see the influence and between variables. The result of this research is by 43,4% delay cargo affected the performance of employees, and by 56,7% affected by other factors.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to be able to assess the activities undertaken by terminal operators because of the expected operational performance standard.. The problem of the research is that the operators or employees do not meet the expected standards of performance that have been set at Mustika Alam Lestari Terminal (MAL). This research used Developmental descriptive method. From the result of the study, there are four  indicators that have not  reached the standard of performance. First, waiting time (idle time) with standard 1 hour waiting time in 2016 which reached about 1.35 hours in which the results exceeds the standard set and declared by MALwhich  is not good. Second, it is about ET: BT (Effective Time: Birthing Time) with a standard of 75% though  in 2016 Mustika Alam Lestari  reached about 73%. Third, the standard of 24 boxes Box/Crane/Hour of Mustika Alam Lestari in 2016 only reached an average of 19.63 boxes.  The last is for delivery of containers with the standard set about 45 minutes but Mustika Alam Lestari terminal in 2016 reached  56.17 minutes for delivering the container. The sanctions or solutions made by the port authority as a regulator is to identify the performance of employees or operators that have not reached the expected standard and PT. Mustika Alam Lestari must provide an assessment or evaluation for improving employees performance.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to find out how big the influence of the loading and unloading productivity and the berthing time  in a case study at Tanjung Emas Port, Semarang.  The data analysis method used was simple linear analysis and hypothesis test.  This research used secondary data of loading and unloading productivity (BCH) and berthing time in a year.  The analysis results and discussion show that there is a proportional influence of loading and unloading productivity and berthing time that is shown in equation of simple linear regression line of Y = 35,38 - 0,832X.  Furthermore, the hypothesis test results show that F count = 11.36 and F table = 4.96 , therefore, F count > F table or 11.36 > 4.
