Abstract

Studi purpose. In boulder climbing competitions, most athletes fall because they cannot grip specific holds, preventing them from climbing on sight. This study aims to examine the effect of weight training using a hangboard on improving the grip strength endurance of boulder climbers. Materials and methods. The method used in this study was an experimental method employing a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study population consisted of 10 active athletes from the Indonesian Rock Climbing Federation (FPTI) in Kuningan District, who also served as the study sample using a total sampling technique. The instrument used in this study was the bent-arm hang-open grip test to measure the grip strength endurance of the athletes. Data analysis was performed using SPSS software, including statistical description, normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing. Results. From the data analysis using hypothesis testing through the Paired Sample T-Test, a significant difference was found between the pre-test and post-test averages in the weight training program using a hang board on the improvement of hand grip strength endurance in boulder climbing athletes, with a difference of 2.35 and a percentage difference of 45% between the pre-test and post-test results. Conclusions. This study concludes that weight training using a hangboard, when performed consistently, can positively impact and significantly improve the grip strength endurance of boulder climbing athletes.

Abstract

Study Purpose. Therapeutic exercise is identified as one of the main rehabilitative approaches that returns the body to its original state, normal, functional and physiological equilibrium and minimizes pain. As a modern scientific field Reflexology by restorative analytic sessions in the pain conditions such as the back pain. massage has proven itself both in health and clinical treatment for corresponding body parts reflex and also has showed effectiveness Hence, the purpose of the current study was to improve lumbar spine rehabilitation as well as the reduction of lower back pain by sampling a number of women aged 50–60 years from Al-Salam Center for Therapy and Rehabilitation. The participants were examined with pre-test for both groups, after the six-weeks rehabilitation program performed, consisted of therapeutic exercises and reflexology massage. Post-test evaluations were conducted at the end of the program to assess the effects of the intervention. Materials and Methods. The research method was experimental in design and a single-group pre-test/post-test. The research consisted of a muscular strength test conducted with a force sensor, the Kinova software in the analysis of the ROM angles, and a pain assessment form used in the evaluation of the pain felt by the participants. A purposive sampling method was used in the selection of six female participants aged 50-60 years from the total eight. The data collection was analyzed in the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) in a comparison of the pre-test and post-test. Results. The findings showed statistically significant differences in pre- and post-tests across the measured variables. These findings indicate a significant enhancement in the strength of the spinal muscles, an increase in range of motion (ROM), and a reduction in lower back pain among the participants. Conclusions. Results show that the implemented rehabilitation program helps to increase spinal muscle strength, flexibility, and pain intensity in patients with low back pain.

Abstract

Study purpose. This study aimed to identify and design speed-strength exercises that develop speed-strength in the arms and legs of the research sample, and to enhance the skill performance of the tennis overhand serve and blocking in volleyball. Materials and Methods. The researcher employed an experimental design with pre- and post-tests, applying a training program consisting of 24 units over 8 weeks. The sample included 12 first-grade middle school players. Statistical analysis was performed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Results. The speed-strength exercises significantly improved arm and leg speed-strength among the participants. Additionally, the exercises had a positive effect on the accuracy of the overhand serve in tennis and blocking skills in volleyball. Conclusions. Speed-strength exercises are effective for enhancing both physical capabilities and technical performance, particularly for the overhand serve and blocking skills. It is recommended that coaches integrate such exercises into training programs to develop speed-strength as a core component of athletic performance.

Abstract

Study purpose. This study aims to analyse the relationship between body mass index and cardiovascular endurance on basic football skills in 17-year-old athletes at the Safin Pati Football School. Materials and methods. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The study was conducted at the Safin Pati Football School, Pati Regency, Central Java. The research sample consisted of 18 active athletes who were members of the 2025 Pati Regency football team, aged 17 years. The research instruments included body mass index measurements, cardiovascular endurance tests using the bleep test, and basic football skill tests covering heading, passing, dribbling, and speed shooting. Data analysis was performed using Pearson's correlation test with the assistance of SPSS version 27 software. Results. The results showed that both body mass index and cardiovascular endurance had a significant relationship with football skills. Body mass index contributed effectively by 14.9%, while cardiovascular endurance contributed effectively by 0.6%. The combined contribution of both to football skills was 15.5%, while the rest was influenced by other factors that were not studied. The novelty of this study lies in its focus on Safin Pati Football School, a football school that specifically focuses on coaching athletes to prepare them for careers in professional football. Conclusion. Body mass index and cardiovascular endurance play a role in supporting basic football technical skills. These findings can serve as a basis for coaches to consider when designing physical training programmes and managing athletes' physical condition optimally.

Abstract

Study purpose. The importance of motor abilities lies in enabling player to perform frequent and rapid combat movements efficiently and effectively without a decrease in performance or exposure to rapid stress, which is necessary especially during fights that require constant effort and high rhythm. Proceeding from this importance, the research aimed to prepare a training program to develop muscular endurance and arm strength among advanced karate players, and to identify impact of this program in developing those abilities. Materials and methods. The researchers used the experimental approach to design the two equivalent groups (experimental and control), and the sample number was (18) advanced karate players who were deliberately selected, and then randomly divided into two groups of (9) players for each group. The pilot group underwent the training program developed, while the control group continued its traditional training. The implementation of the training program lasted for two months, from 7/1/2025 to 6/3/2025. Before and after tests were conducted on, the two groups to measure the level of endurance of muscular strength and characteristic strength with speed, and the results were analyzed using appropriate statistical methods. Results. The results showed a clear superiority of the experimental group over the control group, which indicates the effectiveness of the training program in developing the targeted capabilities. Adopting this program within the training plans prepared for advanced karate players because of its clear positive impact on improving physical performance. indicated that the development of strength endurance is achieved when working at 60-70% of the maximum strength with high repetitions and short rest, which is the method used in the current program. Conclusion. The training program showed clear effectiveness in improving muscular endurance and upper body speed characteristic strength in advanced karate players, compared to the control group. This improvement was attributed to the integration of resistance and biometric exercises with combat movements, resulting in effective neuromuscular adaptation and improved skill performance.

Abstract

Study purpose. This study examines the impact of enhanced visual feedback on learning the back handspring in gymnastics among female students, focusing on the interaction between learning styles (visual, auditory, sensory/kinesthetic) and performance improvement. Materials and methods. Thirty second-year female students were divided into three groups based on their learning style (visual, auditory, sensory/kinesthetic). The study used the VARK scale, EMG device for muscle response measurement, slow-motion video for visual feedback, and performance evaluation forms. Pre- and post-tests were conducted, with feedback tailored to each group's learning style. Results. Significant improvements were observed in all groups. The Visual Group showed the highest improvement (p < 0.01), followed by the Kinesthetic Group (p < 0.01), and the Auditory Group (p < 0.05). ANOVA revealed significant differences between groups (p < 0.01). The Visual and Kinesthetic Groups showed an inverse relationship between response time and performance accuracy, while the Auditory Group did not. Conclusions. The study concluded that visual feedback significantly enhances motor skill learning, particularly for visual learners. Sensory feedback also contributed to performance improvement. The Visual Group showed the best results, highlighting the importance of aligning teaching methods with learning styles for optimal performance. EMG data confirmed that visual and sensory feedback improves neuromuscular response speed and accuracy.

Abstract

Study purpose. This study aims to analyse anthropometry in relation to the speed of 50-metre freestyle swimming among athletes at Haruna Swimming Club. The subjects in this study were 15 adolescent athletes aged 12 to 15 years. Materials and methods. The research method used was a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis. The independent variables analysed included height, weight, arm length, leg length, and hand width. The dependent variable was the time taken to swim the 50-metre freestyle, measured in seconds. Results. The analysis results showed that, simultaneously, all five anthropometric variables significantly influenced swimming speed (p < 0.05). Partially, arm length, leg length, and palm width showed a significant negative influence on swimming time, meaning that the larger the value of these variables, the faster the swimming time achieved. Conclusion. The conclusion of this study states that body characteristics or anthropometry play an important role in determining swimming performance in adolescent athletes. These findings can be used as a basis for athlete selection and the development of training programmes based on physical characteristics

Abstract

Study purpose. University curricula need continuous review, analysis, change, and development due to their strong association with methodological variables. The analysis of the scientific material for swimming (the textbook) according to the indicators of organizing the educational content for swimming activities should be followed to identify the shortcomings and strengths and then follow up on modern educational directives. The study aims to reveal the degree of inclusion of indicators of organizing the educational content for swimming events. Also, it seeks to select and organize proposed educational content for the freestyle and breaststroke swimming events. Material and methods. The researchers used two approaches; the first was the descriptive approach, using content analysis to analyze and evaluate the textbook for the swimming subject (freestyle and breaststroke events). The researchers prepared a list of educational content organization indicators for swimming events. The second approach was the experimental approach, as the design of the control and experimental groups was used, and the number of sample members was (30) female students. The content application took eight weeks, at a rate of one educational unit per week. Results. The results showed that the experimental group students excelled in achievement and technical performance in freestyle and breaststroke swimming due to the proposed educational content selected according to logical and scientific selection criteria. Conclusion. The researchers concluded that proposing and implementing educational programs according to strict scientific and international standards is important. This reflects positively on students' teaching and learning activities.

Abstract

The research aims to reveal the impact of proposed educational programs using different geometric shapes and various colors in the development of the art of skill performance for a number of basic football skills among fifth grade middle school students, experimental approach was used. The research community was represented by the fifth grade of middle school which numbered (133) students. The sample consisted of three divisions (a, c, d), they were deliberately selected, to match and approximate the hours of daily lessons, and thus the number of the sample for the three divisions reached (99) students, and a number of members of the sample were excluded, thus reaching the final sample number (42) students divided into (3) experimental groups by (14) students for each experimental group, and with a percentage of (31,587%) of the original community, The proposed educational programs were distributed to the groups by lottery, and the implementation of the educational programs took six weeks, distributed by two educational units per week for each group and the time of the educational unit was (45) minutes, and in light of the results of the research, the researchers concluded that the three educational programs have a positive impact on the development of the art of performing the basic skills selected in football, and the second experimental group, which was used (geometric shapes with cold colors), the researchers recommended emphasizing the use of geometric shapes with cold colors in the design of skill exercises used in the applied part of the lesson.

Abstract

Study purpose. To investigate the impact of applying the traditional lesson on creative thinking and acquisition of performing some of the football skills among the control group students. To explore the effect of applying the INTUSTEL model on creative thinking and acquisition of performing some of the football skills among the experimental group students. The experimental method was adopted to meet the research requirements. Materials and methods. The research population consisted of intermediate-stage Mariam Al-Adhraa Secondary School for the academic year (2023-2024) in the district of Al-Hamdaniya. As for the sample, it was limited to students selected randomly through a lottery, totalling (48) female students. A number of sample members were excluded due to their lack of homogeneity. Thus, the research sample became (40) female students for each of the selected divisions. They were randomly distributed into two groups, each group having (20) female students. The experimental group used the INTUSTEL method, and the control group used the traditional method. Results. The results of the arithmetic average for the experimental sample before and after applying the (INTUSTEL) model in four variables (creative thinking (56.100, 68.500), dribbling (24.262, 19.762), passing (0.050, 16.250), and scoring (6.600, 8.750)) show a significant difference in favouring to the experimental group after applying the INTUSTEL model. That indicated the effectiveness of the INTUSTEL model in physical education, and improvements in the performance levels of the selected skills were observed when applied by the students. Conclusions. The experimental group that used the INTUSTEL method outperformed the control group that used the traditional method in creative thinking and acquisition of a number of football skills for female students. This improvement results from the student’s participation in the educational unit, where they chose the exercises designated by the teacher to develop the selected skills based on their abilities.
