Abstract

Tujuan penelitian. Mengembangkan model pembelajaran pencak silat berbasis kearifan lokal untuk pembentukan karakter pada siswa SB Hulu Langat, Selangor, Malaysia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model pembelajaran pencak silat berbasis kearifan lokal yang efektif dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai karakter pada siswa Sanggar Bimbingan (SB) Hulu Langat, Selangor, Malaysia. Model pembelajaran ini dirancang untuk mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal seperti religiusitas, disiplin, kerja keras, dan tanggung jawab dengan pendekatan pembelajaran yang inovatif dan kontekstual. Bahan dan metode. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan model ADDIE. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas atas di SB Hulu Langat. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket, wawancara, dan observasi, kemudian dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran pencak silat berbasis kearifan lokal yang dikembangkan terbukti valid, praktis, dan efektif dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai karakter pada siswa. Model ini tidak hanya meningkatkan keterampilan fisik siswa dalam pencak silat, tetapi juga secara signifikan memperkuat karakter mereka dalam hal religiusitas, disiplin, kerja keras, dan tanggung jawab. Kesimpulan. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi penting bagi pengembangan metode pembelajaran berbasis budaya lokal yang relevan dengan kebutuhan pendidikan modern, sekaligus menjadi solusi strategis untuk mengintegrasikan pembelajaran pencak silat dengan pembentukan karakter siswa dalam lingkungan multikultural. Karena penelitian ini hanya berfokus pada nilai-nilai karakter tertentu, yaitu religius, disiplin, kerja keras, dan tanggung jawab, diharapkan peneliti selanjutnya dapat mengembangkan aspek-aspek penilaian karakter lainnya yang juga penting dalam konteks pendidikan multikultural dan global. Penelitian ini penting bagi pendidikan karakter siswa dan juga melestarikan kearifan lokal.

Abstract

Study Purpose. The selection of this type of training was based on the performance results in the 100m relay for female athletes. As the researcher specializes in track and field training at the College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences for Women and has observed the athletes' performance in this event, she was motivated to investigate the impact of variable-intensity training on enhancing specific strength and speed. Therefore, a training program incorporating different intensity levels was designed to assess its effectiveness in developing these attributes. Material and methods. The study was carried out fourth-year female participants by selecting two groups: an experimental group and a control group. Pre-tests were conducted to both sets of participants before implementing the proposed training program for the experimental group, while the control group followed the conventional method. After applying the designed program, post-tests were conducted to evaluate the impact of training at varying intensities on the study variables. Results. The investigator determined that the training method utilizing varying intensities led to a significant improvement in specific strength, speed, and performance in the experimental group, underscoring the efficiency of this approach in enhancing athletic performance. Furthermore, the results confirmed the presence of notable statistical variations in favour of the experimental group, demonstrating superior performance in the 100-meter relay race. Conclusions. The researcher recommended applying this training approach to other track and field events to optimize the benefits of varying training intensities in enhancing athletic performance. The study contributes to the development of specific strength by employing training programs with varying intensity levels.

Abstract

Study purpose. The study aimed to identify the level of anerobic phosphagens and lactic ability of football and futsal players, and to identify the level of some basic skills, mental, and functional variables of the players. As well as identifying the differences of some mental and functional variables between football versus futsal players for phosphagen and lactic effort. Materials and methods. The researcher used the experimental method, the research sample consisted participating players of the Iraqi Premier League of football (8) players, and futsal (8) players, n= 16 players, tests and measurements were used for the research variables, the researcher assumes that there are differences in the level of phosphagen and lactic oxygen capacity between football and futsal players. Results.  Results showed significance differences in Phosphagens capacity between football and futsal players,  there are no differences between football and futsal players in basic skills, there are no differences between football and futsal players in mental abilities, there are differences between football and futsal players in mental abilities with lactic effort. Conclusion. The researcher concluded the superiority of futsal players in the anerobic capacity, there is no difference in basic skills between football and futsal players with phosphagen and lactic effort, there are no differences in variables Physiological phosphagen effort, there are differences in favor of football players in pulse, respiratory rate, and heart energy, futsal players excelled in concentration and distribution of attention.

Abstract

Study purpose. This study aims to evaluate the validity and feasibility of audiovisual media-based tactical training videos as a means of teaching handball tactics to coaches and athletes. The background to this issue stems from the difficulties experienced by coaches and athletes in understanding and applying tactics effectively during conventional training sessions. By utilising interactive audiovisual content, it is hoped that an improvement in tactical understanding can be achieved. Materials and methods. The research method is quantitative, with data collection through four techniques: observation of the video production and usage process, in-depth interviews with coaches and athletes, documentation of materials and training recordings, and distribution of questionnaires to three groups of respondents: media experts, subject matter experts (handball tactics), and athletes. The data obtained was then analysed using validation percentages to assess the feasibility and suitability of the content. Results. The validation results showed a score of 80% (‘Suitable’) from media experts, 83.33% (‘Very Suitable’) from material experts, and 83.54% (‘Very Suitable’) from athletes. The overall average score above 80% indicates that the video has a high level of validity and suitability. Conclusion. In conclusion, this audiovisual media-based tactical training video has been proven to be valid and feasible as a tactical learning medium in handball. The implementation of this medium is expected to enhance tactical understanding, facilitate the delivery of material, and support the effectiveness of training and athletes' performance in matches.

Abstract

Study purpose. To determine the authenticity of the sample based on the physical and athletic skills and body measurements of some students, with the goal of classifying them into homogeneous groups and to group pupils according to their body measurements and certain athletic and physical attributes. Materials and methods. The researchers described the concept of his current research in a comprehensive manner within the theoretical framework. Methodologically, the opted for descriptive research and correlational methods because of his compatibility and the problem he wanted to address. The research team was comprised of third year students (115 students) from the faculty of Sport and Exercise Sciences at the University of Babylon during the academic year 2022/23. The researcher described the procedures used to accomplish his research and achieve his goals Results. The table indicates that the explosive power of the legs x the fourth cell had the highest coefficient value in the negative direction, reaching -1.117, and the explosive power of the arms x the ninth cell had the highest coefficient value, reaching 0.886 in the positive direction. The other coefficient values varied between these values Conclusions. Using statistical metrics associated with normal distribution, these estimates suggest that the sample components are approximately distributed across all of the study variables, this enables the researchers to create models for categorization purposes and the researchers were able to create models of how various variables influence class: (weight, arm length, hand length, chest width, upper arm circumference, leg power, arm power, balance and coordination).

Abstract

Study purpose. In volleyball games, athletes often experience stress, which many internal and external factors can cause. This causes athletes to feel chaotic and unable to perform at their best. So, they often experience defeat in matches. This study aims to examine the effects of mindfulness meditation training on reducing stress in junior volleyball athletes. Materials and methods. The method used in this research is a pretest, posttest experimental method with a quantitative approach involving 14 Bandung Regency volleyball athletes. The instrument used in this study is a stress questionnaire. This study used an instrument in the form of a Depression Anxiety Stress Scales for Youth (DASS-Y) questionnaire, which is a tool to measure stress in children and adolescents.  The treatment given is mindfulness meditation, which is done for four weeks. There are three sessions in one week, each lasting 15-25 minutes. The data obtained was then processed using SPSS 25. Data processing begins with descriptive statistics to summarize the data, followed by normality tests to ensure the data distribution was appropriate. Finally, we conducted hypothesis testing using a paired t-test to determine the effectiveness of mindfulness meditation training in reducing stress levels before and after the program. Results. The results showed that mindfulness meditation training significantly reduced the stress level of junior volleyball athletes, as evidenced by a decrease in the average stress score from 18.21 to 14.07 after treatment, with a difference of 5.20%. It can be concluded that mindfulness meditation intervention is one of the most effective psychological exercises to reduce stress in junior volleyball athletes. Conclusions. This study concludes that mindfulness meditation intervention is a way that influences reducing stress in junior volleyball athletes. This study suggests that more attention should be paid to the psychological condition of athletes and provide mental exercises such as mindfulness meditation when there are athletes who have indications of stress.

Abstract

Study purpose. The study aimed to identify the level of professional stress facing physical education teachers in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and its relationship to the variables of gender and years of experience. Materials and methods. A descriptive analytical approach was followed, in addition to using a questionnaire consisting of (30) items as a study tool. The questionnaire was administered to a sample of (294) male and female physical education teachers during the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. Result. After conducting appropriate statistical processing, the study concluded that the level of professional stress among physical education teachers was moderate, with an arithmetic mean of (2.69) and a standard deviation of (0.52). Furthermore, there were no statistically significant differences in their level of professional stress attributable to the variables of gender (male, female) and years of experience (less than 10 years, more than 10 years). Conclusion. The study demonstrated that physical education teachers in Jordan encounter moderate occupational stress, attributable to substandard infrastructure. No significant differences in stress levels were observed that could be attributed to gender or years of experience, suggesting that stress originates from the work environment itself.

Abstract

Study purpose. Athletica Pro is an innovative portable device designed to provide a comprehensive solution for health monitoring during sports activities. Materials and methods. This device integrates advanced electronic components, including the Arduino Nano, MAX30102 sensor, OLED SSD1306 display, RTC DS3231 module, and LiPo battery, ensuring accurate and reliable monitoring of heart rate, oxygen saturation, and timer functions. Result. The results of the effectiveness test show that Athletica Pro delivers highly precise data under various sports conditions, making it an essential tool for athletes and coaches who require real-time and dependable health monitoring. With cutting-edge technology and an efficient design, this device not only aids in maintaining athletes' health but also can help improve athlete performance through better heart rate monitoring Conclusion. These findings suggest Athletica Pro is a viable alternative to commercial health monitors for athletes.

Abstract

Studi purpose. Teenage pencak silat athletes with an age range of 16-18 years have begun to experience anxiety when competing, the high level of anxiety of pencak silat athletes makes athletes not confident in their matches, the phenomenon that often occurs in the field is that sparring athletes often lose focus when facing their opponents and art athletes are difficult to demonstrate to forget movements when performing their movements, therefore it is necessary to examine the level of anxiety between the two categories, this study aims to compare the level of anxiety between sparring and art athletes at the training to compete stage in LTAD. Materials and methods. This study used a quantitative comparative method with 30 pencak silat athletes divided into sparring and art groups, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using the SCAT (Sport Competition Anxiety Test) questionnaire and analyzed with an independent samples t-test in SPSS version 24. Results. The results showed that there were significant differences in anxiety between sparring athletes and martial arts athletes. Data analysis shows that the anxiety of sparring category athletes tends to be higher than that of martial arts category athletes. Conclusions. This study concludes that there are significant differences in anxiety levels between sparring and art pencak silat athletes at the training to compete stage in LTAD, with sparring athletes showing higher anxiety. The main factors causing high anxiety in sparring athletes are the competitive nature of the match and direct physical contact with opponents, as well as the lack of competition experience. In addition, psychological aspects such as lack of mental training and social support also affect athletes' anxiety levels.

Abstract

Studi purpose. This study aims to analyze differences in the level of mental function and depression in the elderly who are active and inactive in gymnastics, using the Abbreviated Mental Test (AMT) and Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) instruments. Materials and methods. The research design used was comparative with a sample size of 40 elderly, consisting of 20 elderly active gymnastics and 20 elderly not active gymnastics. Data collection was carried out through AMT and GDS questionnaires, while data analysis used independent samples t-test. Results. The results showed the average AMT score in the elderly who were not active in gymnastics was 8.85 (SD = 2.23) and in the elderly who were active in gymnastics was 9.70 (SD = 0.73), with a p value = 0.114. Both groups were in the normal category for cognitive function. In the GDS score, the elderly inactive gymnastics had an average of 9.15 (SD = 6.94) and the elderly active gymnastics of 10.00 (SD = 5.52), with a p value = 0.670. By interpretation, the inactive group was in the normal category, while the active group was at the initial limit of the mild depression category. Nonetheless, the two groups showed no significant difference in terms of mental function or level of depression. Conclusions. This finding indicates that gymnastic activities performed once a week are not enough to have a significant impact on mental function and depression in the elderly. Therefore, it is necessary to consider encouraging the implementation of more intense and structured physical activities to meet the physical and mental health needs of the elderly optimally.
