Abstract

The Advances in information technology in the healthcare sector are encouraging hospitals to implement Electronic Medical Records (EMR) to improve efficiency and service quality. Harapan Hospital, Magelang, has implemented an EMR system since 2023. This study aims to describe the implementation of EMR at Harapan Hospital, Magelang, based on user perceptions of ease of use and challenges. The study used a quantitative descriptive method with a survey approach involving 32 admissions and medical records staff using a total sampling method. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed descriptively. The results indicate that EMR helps improve work effectiveness and facilitates administrative task control, although technical challenges remain. These challenges include network disruptions, downtime, lack of data backup during disruptions, and duplicate workloads due to data entry in the hospital's SIMRS (Symposium on Hospital Management Information System) and the EMR in Magelang City. The study concludes that the implementation of EMR has provided convenience for users. However, improvements to the network infrastructure, provision of data backup, and system integration are needed to avoid duplicate workloads, enabling more optimal EMR implementation.

Abstract

Indonesia has a high risk of snakebites, especially in lowland areas and agricultural lands, which are the main habitats of various snake species. Snakebites often occur among agricultural workers due to a lack of preventive measures. Snakebite cases have increased from year to year and have resulted in death. Snakebites are an emergency condition that can cause death if not treated quickly and appropriately. In Lobener Lor Village in Indramayu Regency, there was a case of death due to snakebites that did not receive appropriate first aid. This study aims to determine the effect of the SIGLAR (Snake-Bite Simulation) method on snakebite-handling skills among farmers in Lobener Lor Village. This type of research is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, and the sample comprised 30 farmers. The instruments used were observation checklist sheets for snakebite handling skills and standard operating procedures (SOPs). The bivariate data analysis used was the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The results of the study showed that the median score of skill increased from 3.00 before the intervention to 8.00 after the intervention, and that there was a significant difference in skills before and after the SIGLAR method was administered (p < 0.05). Simulation proved effective in improving farmers' skills in providing first aid for snake bites.

Abstract

People with disabilities are a vulnerable group who often experience barriers in accessing health care facilities, including health care products. Health care facilities have an important responsibility to meet inclusive service accessibility standards, ensuring that health care is accessible to all parties, including people with disabilities. This article provides an overview of healthcare facilities’ readiness to provide inclusive access to health care. Using a survey method, 91 health care institutions or facilities completed a questionnaire on the accessibility of inclusive services. The survey results indicate that most health care facilities have a strong commitment and support for implementing and developing inclusive services. However, in practice, some health care facilities face limitations related to resource capacity and capabilities, infrastructure, networking, and collaboration. The challenges in ensuring health care accessibility require each health care facility to assess the need for support in implementing accessibility standards, networking, and collaboration

Abstract

The earthquake that struck Cianjur Regency resulted in damage to public and healthcare facilities. This emergency directly impacted Antenatal Care (ANC) services for pregnant women, who represent a highly vulnerable group. A decline in post-disaster ANC visits poses a critical risk of increasing pregnancy complications and maternal mortality. This study aims to delineate the implementation of ANC services for pregnant women in the post-earthquake region of Cianjur, utilizing the 10T ANC standard. This study used a descriptive quantitative method. Respondents were pregnant women who had undergone ANC examinations and were selected through purposive sampling. The results indicated that 58.5% of the pregnant women were in their third trimester, 78% were aged 20–35 years, 58.8% had a primary school education background, and 100% were unemployed (housewives). The distance to the ANC examination facilities was short (70.7%), and the facilities were easily accessible (95.1%). Although the 10T ANC examination standards had been implemented, two components demonstrated low coverage: Tetanus Toxoid (TT) immunization screening and laboratory examinations. In conclusion, cross-sectoral collaboration involving the central government, local governments, physicians, healthcare professionals, and the community is imperative to optimize ANC examination services in post-disaster settings. The Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) must be deployed immediately during health crises. Pregnant women are among the most vulnerable groups severely affected by disasters, facing heightened risks of complications during pregnancy and childbirth, as well as the potential of spontaneous delivery during the chaotic aftermath of a disaster

Abstract

Many communities feel that there is an availability and easy access to fast food. School-age children also have easy access to it because there are many vendors in their neighborhood, and they can order it themselves through applications. This condition risks causing nutritional problems, including being overweight. This study aims to analyze fast-food consumption patterns and the nutritional status in elementary school children in Samarinda. This study used a cross-sectional research design. The sampling technique used was total sampling. Respondents consisted of 94 elementary school students. The research instrument was a fast-food consumption questionnaire. Data were processed using the chi-square statistical test. The results showed that some respondents were overweight (36%) and obese (26%). There was a significant relationship between fast-food consumption patterns and the nutritional status in elementary school children (p=0.000, p<0.05). Health education on balanced nutrition and nutritional status should be implemented early to regulate the eating patterns of school-age children.
