Abstract

In the history of international conflicts, the common cause that becomes the trigger is the expansion of hegemony. One of the conflicts recorded due to the expansion of the hegemony area occurred between Japan and Russia, which began in the second half of the 19th century and continued until the beginning of the 20th century. The conflict heated up and succeeded in triggering an open war between the two countries. The war ended with the signing of the Portsmouth agreement on 5 September 1905, with Japan as the victor. The impact of the war was not only felt by the two countries but on a global scale. This paper focuses on the first issue regarding the background of the 1904-1905 Japan-Russia war, the second regarding the tactical steps of Japan's victory in the war with Russia 1904-1905, and the third regarding the impact arising from the existence of the Japan-Russia war. This paper uses the historical method, which consists of topic selection, heuristics, interpretation and historiography. This article aims to provide information regarding the chronology of the conflict between Japan and Russia, which led to the great war in 1904-1905.

Abstract

Traditional land transportation is transportation that uses the power of living things to move it, for example ox carts. However, with the development of the era, cart transportation is increasingly abandoned. Like in Pematang Karangan Hilir Village, where people still use traditional transportation for daily needs since 1970, however, until 2021, traditional transportation is slowly replaced by modern transportation in supporting the economy of the people of Pematang Karangan Hilir Village. The purpose of this study is to describe the development of ox cart transportation in Pematang Karangan Hilir Village in 1970-2021, ox cart transport ownership system, and the cause of ox cart transportation is no longer used by the community in Pematang Karangan Hilir Village. This research uses historical methods by going through four stages, namely heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results showed that the number of ox cart transportation from year to year was decreasing from 80 pieces in 1970 to the remaining 3 pieces in 2021, Ownership system of ox cart transportation both private and rental, and the transportation of ox carts was abandoned because there were engine-powered shuttles to the reduction of comudity transported using ox carts. The conclusion of this study is that ox cart transportation is no longer the main means of transportation to transport goods because it has been replaced by machine power transportation that makes it easier for the people of Pematang Karangan Hilir Village.

Abstract

Learning at school during Covid-19 was carried out online, but caused a decrease in student interest in learning at SMK Negeri 1 Kotabaru. As for teacher complaints, such as the lack of facilities and infrastructure using more interactive learning media, such as Kahoot!, because teachers tend to use simple learning media, such as Power Point. Even though learning media is a means that can be used as an intermediary in the learning process to increase effectiveness and efficiency in achieving learning objectives. This study aims to determine the effect of using Kahoot! towards students' learning interest in history learning at SMK Negeri 1 Kotabaru. This study used Quasi Experimental Design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population used is class X, with purposive sampling techniques, then the research sample is class X RPL as the experimental class and class X AKL 2 as the control class. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and documentation. Trials of research instruments are carried out with validity and reliability. Testing data analysis techniques, namely with prerequisites, homogeneity and hypotheses. The results of calculations through t-tests, data on learning interest in the experimental class averaged 118.1818, while learning interest in the control class averaged 80.2333. From these data, the Independent Samples Test shows the sig value. 0.00 < 0.05 so Ho rejected Ha accepted. In conclusion, after t-test treatment with Independent Samples Test there was a significant effect on using Kahoot! towards the learning interest of grade X students at SMK Negeri 1 Kotabaru.

Abstract

Lanting house is a floating house located on the river. Its existence as a place to live began to decrease since the people chose to move home to the mainland, which was caused by several factors, such as the construction of houses on land, and moving houses because of work. The purpose of this writing is to find out the background of lanting houses, the development of lanting houses, and the preservation of lanting houses in Seberang Mesjid Neighborhoods in 2015-2020. The benefits obtained in this study are to provide information and insight into typical Banjar houses, namely lanting houses located in Seberang Mesjid Neighborhoods as an effort to preserve traditional culture in typical Banjar house architecture. The methods used in this study are historical methods, namely heuristics, criticism, interpretation and historiography. The results showed that currently the culture of lanting houses in Banjarmasin City began to change due to changes in orientation patterns from rivers to land and the limited availability of building materials that were difficult to obtain, making the development of lanting houses in Seberang Mesjid Neighborhoods decreased. The relevant government also clarified the legal status of lanting houses in order to facilitate efforts to maintain lanting houses and be able to carry out empowerment. The conclusion of this study is that lanting houses need to be preserved with the aim of developing river-based tourism in Banjarmasin City, where lanting houses are one point of 18 tourism development points in the northern zone of Banjarmasin City.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the on going implementation of the independent curriculum at SMAN 2 Banjarmasin. Oriented to the learning needs of students in various historical lessons shows the need for implementing differentiated learning. The purpose of this research is to describe the implementation of differentiated learning by history teachers at SMAN 2 Banjarmasin. The research method uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Sources of data obtained from observation, interviews and documentation. Primary data collection was carried out on school principals, history teachers and students in class X2 at SMA Negeri 2 Banjarmasin. Meanwhile, secondary data was obtained through a review of documents related to the Merdeka curriculum. The process of data analysis is done by reducing data, presenting and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the implementation of differentiated learning by history teachers at SMAN 2 Banjarmasin is carried out independently by referring to the needs of each student based on the initial diagnostic results. the teacher gives the test. In reality, the independent curriculum encourages the growth of innovation and creativity in learning. The teacher has an important role in exploring the interests of students so that they can support the achievement of a meaningful learning through the application of differentiated learning

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of landrente in the East Indies by Raffles in 1811-1816 and the existence of landrente policies in the Madiun Residency in 1811-1870. This study uses a form of historical research to find out facts and draw conclusions about past events. Sources of data used include primary sources including archives and documents during the implementation period of the landrente and secondary sources include books, articles and interviews related to landrente in the Madiun Residency. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the landrente started since Raffles came to power in 1811-1816 to replace the mandatory submission policy. The existence of land tax in the Madiun Residency still exists in the next period, namely it can change land ownership and land use in the community. From 1811 to 1870, The landrente causes a change in the pattern of land from individual ownership to communal ownership. It also causes changes in land use from agriculture to plantations.

Abstract

Culture is defined as thoughts, customs, something that has developed, something that has become a habit that is difficult to change. Jambi Seberang is an area rich in long and varied history. As part of Jambi Province, this region has been the center of civilization since ancient times. However, in the last decades, with rapid modernization and social change, there have been many aspects of culture and history in Jambi. The purpose of writing this article is to find out traces of the history of Jambi Seberang culture from prehistoric times until the arrivals of Islam. The research uses historical research methods with a contextual approach and data collection using library studies. The results of this article are that there are similarities in life patterns between prehistoric times and the people of Jambi Seberang now. Value traditional are also not abandonded but are incorporated into new patterns of life as an effort to adapt to the times and currents of globalization.

Abstract

The Islamization process that occurred in Jambi coincided with the growth and development of the Islamic kingdom of Jambi around the 15th century AD. This article explains the history of Islamization which has had an influence on the culture of the Jambi people to this day. The method used in this research is a historical research method which is divided into four parts, namely Heuristics, Source Criticism, Interpretation and Historiography. The entry of Islam into the Jambi community was brought by adherents of the Islamic faith who came from Arab ethnicity, through trade that passed through waterways by sailing along the Batanghari river. The Islamization process in Jambi has had a big influence on the cultural development of the local community. The influence of Islamization on culture in Jambi can be seen from religious ceremonies commemorating Islamic holidays, marriage practices, art, social systems and architectural styles.

Abstract

This research is motivated by problems in learning activities in History subjects, namely the lack of use of learning media amidst developments in technology and information. Learning media is something that is used to convey messages in the form of learning materials. An example of learning media that can be used is static infographic media. Static infographic media is media that synergizes data, text and images in the form of simple media aimed at readers. The use of text and images in static infographic media can make it easier for students to absorb the information contained in the media so that the use of static infographic media can influence student learning outcomes. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of using static infographic media on student learning result in the History subject class XI IPS at SMA Negeri 1 Martapura. In this research, quantitative method choosen as research method with Quasi Experiment model. Purposive sampling technique choosen as sampling technique in this research. The instruments used in this research are test instruments in the form of multiple choice questions to measure student learning results and non-test instruments in the form of student response questionnaires, media expert validation questionnaires and material expert validation questionnaires. The research results showed (1) the learning outcomes of experimental class students in the history of the Renaissance and Church Reformation subjects were higher than those of the control class, with an average score for the control class of 75.41 and the experimental class of 85.57. (2) based on data analysis of post-test values using the t-test, with the results of a significance value of Sig. (2-tailed) obtained is 0.000 < 0.050, meaning that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. This shows that there is an influence of the use of static infographic media on the learning outcomes of class XI IPS students. The conclusion from the research results is that there is an influence of the use of static infographic media on learning outcomes. This is shown by the difference in post-test scores for the experimental class and the control class. The post-test score in the experimental class was higher than the post-test score in the control class.

Abstract

Kerinci society before the emergence of the Dutch had two patterns of government, namely conservative and ulama, the region had an important role in Kerinci society in determining and implementing existing regulations. The emergence of Kekerinci expansionism is considered to be detrimental to the plans and demands of the community, so that indigenous people and ulama oppose regional development with different structures and examples of obstacles. Kerinci culture is the work of the Kerinci people. The historical background of improvements is widely known at the public and global levels and is a significant source of values, motivation and reasons for understanding public activities, which must be realized in the improvement cycle carried out by regional legislatures, especially the Kerinci region. The Government and Sungaifull Regional Government are the institutions that oversee the Kerinci Regular Smoothness organization. This article will discuss the social development of Kerinci society during the border period (1904-1906). The strategy used in the hard copy form of this article is an interesting subjective exploration technique with a concentration approach to writing.
