Abstract

This article reveals various forms of approaches taken by religious education teachers and religious materials in public and religious schools and madrasa teachers to Aboge youth. The teacher’s strategy for managing diversity leaves a variety of problems because not all teachers are aware that their response to Aboge youth is a violation of religious freedom. Although there are teachers who commit symbolic violence with repressive-intimidating patterns, there is a dialogic pattern developed by a teacher in madrasas. Although it is also equally aimed at leading students’ logic that the Aboge calendar method is irrelevant, the strategy makes students mindfully convert their beliefs without blaming their family’s Aboge beliefs and being accommodating Aboge. Even though it seems democratic, MTs Maulana Utama has indicated that it has not carried out a policy of recognition of minorities, so there is a risk of violation of religious freedom if there are other non-Aboge minority students with a different ideological and school of fiqh background. Even though it seems democratic, MTs Maulana Utama has indicated that it has not carried out a policy of recognition of minorities, so there is a risk of violation of religious freedom if there are other non-Aboge minority students with a different ideological and school of fiqh background.

This article aims to find out the planning, implementation and evaluation of Strengthening Character Education (SCE) in SMPN 01 Kediri in realizing Islamic values. Islamic education is an effort to actualize the attributes of perfection that have been bestowed by Allah to humans. Strengthening Character Education (SCE) is one way to actualize Islamic values through various activities, intra-curricular, extra-curricular, and non-curricular. This article was written based on the results of a qualitative case study. This article concludes that the implementation of SCE in SMPN 01 Kota in realizing Islamic values, in general, has already been carried out and several aspects need to be improved. Planning for SCE activities in realizing Islamic values needs to be developed in several aspects, namely: (1) there is a need to develop SCE objective indicators, (2) additional activities need to be developed to develop the other three characters in SCE, in order to balance the characters in SCE such as integrity, mutual cooperation, and independence, and (3) SCE activities need to be developed through co-curricular activities, bearing in mind that SCE activities are still focused into extra-curricular activities. The implementation of SCE activities in realizing Islamic values requires the role of parents because they are the first education and as supervisors for their children outside of school. It is also found that evaluating SCE activities in realizing Islamic values had not used measurable appraisal instruments, but direct observation instead.

Abstract

This article aims to investigate the effect of intellectual intelligence, self-efficacy and self-regulated learning on the ability to memorize the Qur’an. Lately, the Qur’an recitation program has been held in many schools and madrassas. It is hoped that through the process of memorizing the Qur’an, it will be able to shape the personality of the Qur’an on students, which is reflected in their behaviour and mindset so that they are able to strengthen their creeds and strengthen their faith. One of the institutions/madrasa that organizes the Tahfidz al-Qur’an class program as the flagship program is MTs Sunan Ampel Semanding, Tertek Pare. The minimum target for memorization that must be achieved by students is six juz, but in practice, 65% of students can exceed the standard six juz at the end of grade 9. The achievement of memorization that is able to exceed the madrasah target then encourages the writer to conduct research in this place. This research uses a quantitative approach with a path analysis research design. The research sample was all students of grade 8B and 9B, total of 58 students. The instruments used were questionnaire, written test, oral test and documentation. All analyzes were conducted utilizing SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) application Version 21.0. The results showed that of the eight hypotheses that researchers proposed, only two hypotheses showed a significant influence. The remaining six hypotheses show insignificant influence. Two hypotheses that show a significant influence are Self-efficacy on Self-Regulated Learning at 55.7% and Self Efficacy on the ability to memorize the Qur’an by 29.6%.
