Abstract

Kediri Islamic University (UNISKA) Kediri Is a Private Higher Education Institution organized by a Foundation that is composed based on overall science and technology or following Islamic guidance. The campus is a formal educational institution that has the responsibility to continue to educate students by organizing lecture activities as a realization of the vision and mission and goals of education. The method used in this study is classroom action research that is a systematic study of improving the implementation of educational practices by lecturers by taking actions in learning based on their reflection on the results of those actions. This Classroom Action Research uses a quantitative design to collect and analyze data in the form of numbers using the Population Standard Deviation Formula. The data in this study used a questionnaire distributed via Google Forms to the Population Amount. The purpose of this research is to find out the lecturers' competence in Islamic religious subjects towards student learning interest, to find out the increase in student motivation towards learning interest in Islamic religious subjects, to find out positive responses to student questions about lecture material that can link science and Islam in lectures on motivation and learning interest of students of the Faculty of Engineering UNISKA Kediri in First   Semesters of the academic year 2019/2020. Based on the results of a questionnaire with a population of 156 students and 122 respondents, which were tested at less than 75% shows a score of three, which means there needs to be an improvement in improving the competence of religious lecturers and building student motivation and interest in learning.

Abstract

This article aims to review the evaluation of the character strengthening Program (PPK) with models of CIPP models (Context, Input, Process, and Product). The character education reinforcement Program aims to instil the values of the nation’s character formation massively and effectively through the implementation of the key values of the national movement of the Mental revolution. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the implementation of character education strengthening at SMA Negeri 2 Kediri. This article is a result of field research using the Mixed Methods approach. Data sources obtained from principals, deputy principals, educators, and learners. The population is focused on the XI class students with a sample of 38 students while product component data is collected through questionnaires. The results showed that on the Context component, the school’s understanding of PPK was not maximized, environmental support was excellent, and the purpose of the program was obvious. The Input component indicates that the availability of human resources educators and funding sources insufficient categories. The Process component is good enough with evidence of the implementation of class-based programs. Product component Achievement Five main values of PPK students of class XI SMA Negeri 2 Kediri with the average value of a poll obtained by 78.6 shows the very good category in achieving five main values of PPK characters.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the role of schools in fostering an attitude of eco-literacy students and ensuring environmental sustainability by green lifestyle implementation (green lifestyle). The idea of green schools is an attempt to realize the millennial generation of environment-friendly students. To support this, it needs revitalization ecologically sound scientific schools: First, revitalization in the field of interpretation studies with an ecological approach. Second, the revitalization of jurisprudence with ecological insights. Third, develop an ecological study of Sufism. The results show that Islamic boarding schools as educational institutions have great potential to solve social problems ecologically. Pesantren can be a model of education that instils the normative ecological-religious value to foster self-consciousness and care about the environment. Therefore, it takes a revitalization of knowledge in pesantren to give birth to piety and ecological awareness among the students. Revitalization of knowledge in pesantren can be done through the internalization of ecological insight into the discipline of the religious sciences that are taught in schools. Study commentary directed at understanding the verses with a thematic-ecological approach that can provide insight into the Qur’an in a comprehensive manner to the students to interact with their environment. Jurisprudence oriented towards environmental issues that can be equipped to respond to the dynamics of Islamic legal thought that is responsive to the problems of social-ecological. Likewise, the study of Sufism is done by the redefinition of the terms of the key disciplines of Sufism, like repentance, asceticism, mahabbah, and others, thus produce an environmental ethics attitude.

Abstract

This study seeks to explain a learning model of education in Al-Hikmah Islamic Boarding School, Batu. A very rare model of learning found in other educational institutions. In addition to rare, this model is a breakthrough solution-based on a variety of educational inequality that is often difficult to formulate between character education and digital-based learning. The significance of this study lies in the new models that are developed concerning the national education curriculum and meet the standards of 2013. This study used a qualitative research approach that is approached with a descriptive analysis. Retrieving data using interview and observation techniques, the results of these data in the process were analyzed using inductive analysis techniques. In the final stage, then the data is authenticated using the method of triangulation techniques. After doing research, it was found several important findings as to the end of the study. Digital-based character education models essentially have three interrelated aspects; methodology, habituation, and control. The methodology used is the First, the method of identification problems. Second, the method of movie reviews. Third, the method of making the story of Arabic and English Fourth, the preparation method illustrated stories through the application. While habituation performed on all subjects internalize sector. In addition to the internalization, there is also a character-building activity taken us turÄth reference source that is Adab wa Ta’lÄ«m al-Muta‘allim. The latter is a control that is by silaturrahmi guardian to students and information from the public.

Abstract

Islam, according to the meaning of its name, is certainly synonymous with peace, but some Moslem direct it as a promoter of violence, chaos, and terror. Many teachings that are brought by the Prophet, perfected morality is an important point of his teachings that are escaped by his followers who like to spread violence, chaos, and terror. The concept of moderate Islam is not a new idea. It has been around since the Prophet taught it to his Companions. This can be explored from various historical literature and hadith texts. Especially in Indonesia, Moderate Islamic Education can always be found in Pesantren, not only ideas and concepts but also practices. This paper will try to explore how Moderate Islamic Education is taught and practised in Pesantren, especially in Pesantren Progressive Bumi Shalawat Sidoarjo. Pesantren which since its establishment in 2010 has been cooperating with ITCC (Indonesia Tionghoa Culture Center), AIESEC (Association Internationale des Etudiants en Sciences Economiques ET. Commerciales) and Japan Foundation to get a native speaker as a foreign language teacher and culture sharer. More than 15 people from various countries have been actively involved in becoming teachers in this Pesantren with various religious backgrounds. A tolerant and respectful attitude that is grown and developed from the school-age to become a moderate Muslim appears with the presence of the foreign teacher. With the case study method, the writer will analyze the existing situation in Pesantren Progresif Bumi Shalawat Sidoarjo related to moderate Islam which is taught and practised there.

Abstract

This study seeks to describe Islamic education learning strategies that are modern and based output. By carrying the principle out of the box, the Islamic schools Sekolah Mutiara in Bali can lift Islamic education as a role model in other schools, especially in combining general studies with religion. The significance of this study lies in the base of the quality of education (quality assurance) which drafted carefully, where the quality of the primary standard used to print generation (students). With the model of qualitative approach was descriptive documentation, then the data is taken based on observation and documentation, then after analysis of data obtained through triangulation technique several important findings. 1) Implementation of quality assurance in Islamic schools “Mutiara†School can be seen in three aspects. First, learning model. The model is applied to the school is the social internalization of Islam, where all of the subject matter infiltrated by Islamic values. Second, habituation, ie habituation speaking, how to behave and interact with others coupled with morals and character. Third, skill training, where learners are given targets following the needs of the times like making machines, robot or any other technological tool. 2) the integrated curriculum. The curriculum used is the 2013 curriculum combined with the Islamic curriculum (JSIT Indonesia). By combining both this curriculum, then the resulting output can be the generation that controls the common knowledge in all its aspects. 3) The competence of educators. By looking at the methods and curriculum that are taken, then educators must be qualified to master and understand all the sciences.

Abstract

The Qur’an is the holy book which is inexhaustibly studied by many people. It has inspired a lot of thoughts, research and studies. The discussions of human in the Qur’an are numerous, ranging from the creation, life, naming, relationships of one another, and etc.. The Qur’an mentions that man is created in the perfect form, which is given advantages over other creatures. With his intellectual power, human tries to explore knowledge about him and understand his nature as a creature of God. Biometrics views human as a unique being. Biometrics sees that parts of the human body can be used as a security device because each human has his special uniqueness different from one another. Because of this specificity, human invents devices that refer to all materials, types of equipment, labours, and man-made systems to replicate the existing systems in nature. At present, the scientific community really needs such a device, especially in the field of nanotechnology, robot technology, artificial intelligence, medicine and military. Biometric normally used in the form of authentification, including Introduction to Fingerprint, Face Recognition, Recognition Retina or Iris, Geometry Arm, Geometry Finger, introduction of Palms, Voice Recognition, Introduction to Signatures, DNA (Deoxyribonucleic Acid), Thermal Imaging (Body Temperature), Shape Ear, Body Odor, Body Movement. On some types of biometric authentication on top of the al-Qur’an gives a signal on Surah Fussilat [41]: 20-22.

Abstract

This article aims at investigating teachers’ perception, practices and problems in conducting classroom action research (CAR). This study employed a descriptive quantitative research design using a survey. Forty-five teachers from two different State Islamic Junior High Schools in Kediri are randomly selected. To collect the data, an open-ended questionnaire is used as the instruments. To analyze the data, descriptive statistics analysis is used. The finding shows that the teachers have a good perception of CAR. Almost of them agreed that it could improve the quality of their teaching and learning process, improve students’ motivation and achievement and improve their professional rank. Their good perception of CAR can be seen from their practice in conducting CAR. Majority of them have experience in conducting CAR; however, some of them still get difficulty in making the report. The teachers also face some problems in conducting CAR. Those are time, reporting system, in-existence of the supervisor, lack of understanding of research, insufficient references, research budget, and incomplete facilities. The alternative solution is by conducting the research collaboratively with their colleagues in the same subject. It is recommended for the school stakeholder to consider this finding in making the school policy, especially in increasing teacher professionalism.

Abstract

Education is the process of preparing the future of students in achieving life goals to have better quality. Education itself has an important role in human life. As Islamic as a religion that is rahmatan lil 'alamin gives serious attention to the development of education for human survival. The importance of Islamic education makes the author interested in finding solutions to build public awareness of the importance of Islamic education. Here the community is classified as minimally educated; many children do not continue their education, which in turn creates social disparities in their lives. Researchers use a phenomenological method, which is from phenomenology. Wherefrom the existing phenomena the writer tries to find out the reasons, causes, and preventive actions that must be taken in the future. From the study, it was found that 14 out of 19 children aged 14-17 did not attend school. 22 out of 22 children aged 7-12 are attending school and 6 out of 6 children aged 12-14 are attending school. The reasons for not going to school are 1) children are not interested in learning, 2) economic factors, 3) wrong associations. Preventive actions that must be taken are modeling and da'wah.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the roles and strategies of the school committee in developing the quality of education. This research is important to do because the issue of the quality of education in Indonesia is looking for an ideal formulation due to the impact of industry 4.0. The quality of education is required to be comparable and parallel to the development of modern science. This research was conducted at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ma'arif 1 Munggung. At least, this research wants to find answers to how strategies to optimize the development of education quality and the role of the school committee in achieving the mission of developing educational quality. This research is qualitative. To obtain complete data and pay attention to the relevance of the data for the study, the data collection in this study used interview, observation, and documentation techniques. The collected data were analyzed using the analysis technique of Milles and Huberman. The results of this study were 1) efforts of improving quality of education in MI Ma'arif 1 Munggung among other things are improving the achievement of the school, strengthening the role of the committee, and improving the professionalism of teachers. 2) The role of the School Committee in improving the quality of education at MI Ma'arif Munggung 1 is as: a) Advisory agency, b) Supporting agency, c) Controlling agency, d) Mediator, 3) The strategies used by the School Principal in enhancing the role of School 3 Committees are: Building trust in stakeholders, building a sense of kinship with stakeholders, giving authority to committed people.
