Abstract

Finding out how Sulawesi Island's poverty rate is impacted by HDI, unemployment, and total population characteristics is the goal of this study. This study's research methodology uses panel data regression from six Sulawesi Island provinces from 2013 to 2022, with the Random Effect Model (REM) as the chosen analysis model. As demonstrated by the findings, (1) HDI significantly and negatively affects Sulawesi Island's poverty rate. In Sulawesi Island, (2) The open unemployment rate significantly and favorably affects the poverty rate. (3) The overall population has no discernible impact on Sulawesi Island's poverty rate.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of differential cost analysis in managerial decision-making processes, particularly in evaluating special orders for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Using a comparative approach to two MSME case studies Nasi Goreng Kembar Naknik and Tempe Pak Kasmudi this research reveals how differences in cost structures and production capacities influence business decisions. The results show that differential cost analysis provides a strong basis for MSMEs to determine the feasibility of special orders by considering relevant additional revenues and costs. Both case studies demonstrate that special orders can increase profitability without requiring additional production capacity, provided decisions are based on positive contribution margins. This study emphasizes the importance of understanding relevant costs to support the efficiency, sustainability, and growth of MSMEs.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of learning independence and self-regulation both partially and simultaneously on the chemistry learning outcomes of class XI IPA students of SMA Negeri 1 Agats. This study uses a quantitative approach with the ex-postfacto method. The population of the study was all class XI IPA students of SMA Negeri 1 Agats in the 2024/2025 Academic Year, totaling 84 students. The sample was selected by simple random sampling, so that a sample of 45 students was obtained. Data collection used questionnaire instruments and learning outcome tests, so that data was obtained that were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, namely simple regression techniques and multiple regression techniques. The results of the study showed that 1) learning independence has a positive effect on the chemistry learning outcomes of class XI IPA students of SMA Negeri 1 Agats, 2) Self-Regulation has a positive effect on the chemistry learning outcomes of class XI IPA students of SMA Negeri 1 Agats, 3) learning independence and self-regulation together have an effect on the chemistry learning outcomes of class XI IPA students of SMA Negeri 1 Agats.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the impact of the problem-based learning (PBL) approach on the critical thinking abilities and academic performance of seventh-grade students at MTsN 7 Bulukumba. The study employed a pretest-posttest control group design, with participants chosen through simple random sampling. Class VIIA, consisting of 27 students, served as the experimental group using PBL, while class VIIB, comprising 28 students, functioned as the control group with traditional direct instruction. Data were gathered via assessments of critical thinking skills and academic achievement, and were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 26. The findings indicated that PBL was more effective than direct instruction in enhancing both critical thinking skills and academic performance regarding the science topics of substances and their transformations.

Abstract

This study examines factors affecting the Rupiah–US Dollar exchange rate from Jan 2013 to Dec 2023. Using monthly data from Bank Indonesia and Investing.com, the researchers apply the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model to capture both short and long run dynamics among inflation, money supply (M2), the BI Rate, and world crude oil prices (WTI). Findings indicate that higher inflation leads to Rupiah appreciation, whereas increases in money supply and the BI Rate cause depreciation in both horizons; WTI prices have a significant negative effect only in the short term. These results underscore the need for balanced monetary policy controlling inflation and managing liquidity and diversified foreign-exchange sources to uphold Rupiah stability amid shocks and inform targeted policy decisions.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of Industry 4.0 on Total Factor Productivity (TFP) in Indonesia's large and medium-scale industries from 2010 to 2015. Utilizing the Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) method with a translog production function, the research analyzes the relationship between inputs (capital, labor, and raw materials) and industrial output, while decomposing TFP growth into efficiency changes (EC), technological changes (TC), and scale effects (SC). The findings reveal that labor and raw materials significantly influence output, with labor exhibiting the highest elasticity (0.6389). The average TFP growth rate was 3.689%, primarily driven by technological advancements (6.996%), despite a decline in technical efficiency (-3.358%). The motor vehicle and food industries demonstrated the highest technical efficiency, while sectors like wood and furniture lagged. The study highlights Indonesia's reliance on foreign technology and underscores the need for domestic innovation to enhance Industry 4.0 readiness. Policy recommendations include fostering R&D collaboration and improving infrastructure to sustain productivity growth.

Abstract

Economic development is crucial for improving community welfare. Instability can trigger inflation, weaken purchasing power, and increase poverty and unemployment, all of which harm economic growth. This study examines the impact of poverty, open unemployment, and the Human Development Index (HDI) on economic growth in Central Java from 2009 to 2023. Using a quantitative method with multiple linear regression on BPS time series data, the findings show poverty and unemployment negatively and significantly affect growth, while HDI has a positive and significant influence. The study concludes that reducing poverty and unemployment and improving HDI are essential. Therefore, local governments must invest in education and health and implement job-creating policies to support sustainable economic growth.

Abstract

MSMEs are a pillar of the economy in many developing countries, but often struggle with cost management and profit planning. Cost-Volume-Profit (CVP) analysis can help MSMEs in making business decisions, especially in profit planning, cost control, and sales strategies. Through Systematic Literature Review (SLR), the authors analyzed 16 scientific articles from 2009 to 2024. The results show that CVP improves operational efficiency and managerial capabilities, and helps determine break-even points and contribution margins. However, CVP implementation is still constrained by low financial literacy, inadequate cost recording, and technological limitations. In conclusion, CVP is proven to be effective in supporting the financial management of MSMEs and is feasible to be implemented more widely with the support of training and simple technology.
