Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi tentang pelayanan kemahasiswaan di Politeknik Negeri Jakarta (PNJ), sehingga dengan evaluasi ini diharapkan memperoleh masukan untuk peningkatan kualitas pelayanan (service quality) kemahasiswaan. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode Servqual yang membandingkan antara layanan yang dirasakan (adequate service) dan layanan yang diharapkan (desired service) oleh mahasiswa. Teknik sampel yang digunakan non random sampling yaitu melalui pendekatan accidental sampling. Alasan memilih metode ini karena peneliti menganggap bahwa mahasiswa politeknik adalah homogen. Hasilnya adalah sebagai berikut: 1) dari hasil uji service quality (Servequal) setiap item dimensi tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, emphaty dan system information terdapat gap negatif antara yang dirasakan dengan yang diharapan oleh mahasiswa; 2)  a) pada aspek tangible yang terdiri atas sarana prasarana pendidikan, peralatan laboratorium dan ruang perkuliahan diperoleh gap servequal yang negative -1.4; b) aspek reliability yang terdiri atas keandalan dosen dan staf akademik masih memiliki gap sebesar - 1.01; c) aspek responsiveness atau sikap tanggap dalam pelayanan kepada mahasiswa diperoleh gap sebesar -1.19; d) aspek assurance atau perlakuan terhadap mahasiswa diperoleh gap sebesar -1.12; e) aspek empathy atau pemahaman terhadap kepentingan mahasiswa memiliki gap -1.21; dan f) aspek system informasi kemahasiswaan memperoleh gap -1.27;  3) Secara keseluruhan tingkat kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap layanan bidang akademik dan kemahasiswaan menghasilkan gap sebesar -1.19. Ini menunjukkan bahwa Politeknik Negeri Jakarta masih harus meningkatkan kualitas pelayanannya pada semua dimensinya. Kata kunci:

Abstract

This study is a translation study focused on translation technique and quality especially on acceptability aspect. Linguistic units used to analyze is noun phrases existed in the magazine of “Colours Garuda Indonesia” published on November 2018. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. Translation technique used refers to Molina&Albir and translation quality assessment uses categories proposed by Nababan, et.als. The study reveals that types of noun phrases mostly found in this study are modification noun phrases. The most commonly translated using established equivalence. The quality aspect of acceptability translation is on the score 2.7 of 3. It means result of translation can be accepted well by the reader of Bahasa Indonesia. Words or phrases translated reader comprehend them well because they are usually used in Bahasa Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of work and family conflicts as well as family and work conflicts on work engagement, and personality extraversion and conscientiousness as moderator variables in ministries x. Through this research, it is expected to know the significance of the influence of work and family conflicts and family and work conflicts on the work engagement, and whether conscientiousness and extraversion personalities can be moderator variables for Ministry X employees. The population studied in this study was PNS Ministry X. this study amounted to 210 respondents. Data collection instruments using the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) were developed by Schaufeli and Bakker, work and family conflicts and family and work conflicts developed by Netemeyer et al., 1996. This study uses a quantitative approach with multiple regression analysis methods, and validation testing construct using the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) technique. The research sample was determined using convenient sampling technique. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant influence of the variable influence of work and family conflicts as well as family and work conflicts on work engagement. Extraversion and conscientiousness personality also affect work totality. Extraversion personality does not moderate the relationship of work and family conflicts and family and work conflicts to the totality of work. So that Hypothesis 05 and Hypothesis 06 are accepted. Personality conscientiousness moderates the relationship of work and family conflict and family and work conflict to work engagement.

Abstract

Linking three dominan factors namely psychological empowerment, innovative work behavior, and intrinsic motivation, this study developed and examined the relationship among them with a mediating factor. Using questionnaire survey from Higher Education Institutions, the study found that pyschological empowerment significantly affect innovative work behavior. In addition, Intrinsic motivation, as anticipated in the study also affect innovative work behavior. Finally, as an intervening variabel, intrinsic motivation enhance the relationship between psychological empowerment and innovative work behavior.

Abstract

Cohesion is a semantic concept and part of the system of a language. The language can be orally or written. One of the indicators of good discourse (written) is having good cohesion and coherence aspect. This study is entitled Lexical Cohesion Analysis on Scopus-Indexed-Journal entitled “A New Control Method for Power based on Dynamic Evolution Control“. The aim of this study is to identify and describe the lexical cohesion in the Scopus-indexed article journal. This study is a qualitative research. The data sources in this study an article Scopus indexed-journal was obtained by purposive sampling. Furthermore, analysis of the data was done by identifying and classifying the data that related to cohesion, based on the theory of Halliday and Hasan (1976) and also analyzing used Spradley (1980). Based on the analysis, it was found five things related to cohesion and coherence. First, lexical cohesion devices which are used consist of repetition, synonymy, antonymy, hyponymy, and meronymy. The most frequent lexical cohesion used is repetition. Therefore, it can be of an interest to the (future) writer or researcher who are involved in writing journal. The study concludes that lexical cohesion determines writers’ tones in writing article and this ultimately contributes significantly enough in constructing persuasion and strong desire to persuade editorial boards of the journal to accept the article. It has also been highlighted that the findings of this study could be broaden in grammatical cohesion, and also be beneficial to researchers and ESL/EFL learners especially in persuasive and academic writing. Those aspects and factors can be considered to certain paper or journal article whether rejected or accepted in Scopus-indexed journal.

Abstract

This article describes the strategies of Politeknik Negeri Jakarta to increase its accreditation and international reputation. Its material is from the qualitative research results entitled Politeknik Negeri Jakarta strategy to accreditation dan international reputation increasing. The research problem is the strategy of the Politeknik Negeri Jakarta in increasing accreditation and Increasing International Reputation is not yet known so the purpose of the research is to describe the strategies of  Politeknik Negeri Jakarta in increasing accreditation and international reputation. The data collected by participant observation and documentation study, while data analysis used qualitative analysis: domain analysis, taxonomy analysis, componential analysis, and finding cultural themes. The main findings are (i) its policies to become international reputation and accreditation, among others:  increasing the study program accreditation on national and international standards, increasing the PNJ rating at the international level, and increasing the number of the international network, (ii) its programs, inter alia: increasing of quality of study programs, monitoring the quality assurance on study programs, and increasing the quality of the international network. The conclusion is that Politeknik Negeri Jakarta has made various efforts in order to become an international polytechnic.

Abstract

This article aimed to describe the language politeness carried out by lecturers at border area of Indonesia at Timor University, especially at English Education Department. This article deals with the forms of observance of the maxims of modesty and the reasons of speech which contains of observance and non-observance maxims of language politeness. Language politeness enables lecturers to communicate better.  This article is a qualitative research by using descriptive method. There were three lecturers involved as the participants in this study. The study was conducted at English Education Department of Timor University. The data collected through observation, and note taking method techniques. Data were analyzed in the following steps: (1) transcribing the recorded data into written form, (2) classifying the form of language politeness according to Leech, (3) analyzing the form of language politeness, (4) analyzing the factors of compliance and violations of language politeness, and (5) conclude the analysis results. The result shows that lecturers used both observance and non- observance maxim. Non-observance maxims were applied to give warning and motivation for the students. The lecturers’ compliance with the maxim of politeness helped the students to be more enthusiastic on learning. Based on the result, it could be concluded that it was necessary to used language politeness to make the communication could run well and effectively.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul, “Analisis Kesalahan Berbahasa Pada Tugas Akhir Mahasiswa Program Studi D-III Teknik Mesin Tahun 2020”. Latar belakang penelitian ini ialah karena masih bnayaknya kesalahan penulisan dalam bahasa Indonesia. Kesalahan berbahasa terjadi kettika adanya penyimpangan kaidah kebahasaan, baik yang tidak sesuai dengan aturan Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia, khusus dalam tulisan ilmiah. Kesalahan berbahasa tersebut dikategorikan menjadi kesalahan dan kekeliruan kebahasaan. Kesalahan berbahasa merupakan pemakaian bahasa di luar aturan yang berlaku dalam kaidah atau aturan bahasa Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk dapat menelaah berbagai kesalahan kebahasaan mulai dari kata, frasa klausa, kalimat, tanda baca, diksi, dan kaidah lainnya. Akan tetapi dalam penelitian kali ini dibatasi permasalahannya yakni kesalahan kata hingga kalimat, kemudian tanda baca, dan kesalahan imbuhan. Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penulisan ini ialah metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan dokumentasi penelitian berupa Tugas Akhir yang disusun oleh mahasiswa di tahun 2020. Tugas akhir yang diteliti sebanyak empat, dipilih secara random. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kesalahan terbanyak terdapat pada penulisan kata yang tidak baku, tidak sesuai dnegan KBBI. Kesalahan kebanyak kedua terjadi pada tanda baca, dan kesalahan ketiga banyak terjadi pada penulisan imbuhan. Kesimpulan penelitian diperoleh bahwa dari beberapa kesalahan yang terjadi mahasiswa tidak meliahat rujukan kamus untuk menuliskan istilah-istilah yang tidak umum, selain itu buku Panduan Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia juga tidak menjadi rujukan, sehingga banyak terjadi kesalahan.
