Abstract

Teacher leadership management in Vocational High Schools (SMK) is an important element in creating a learning atmosphere that supports the immersive learning approach, which is believed to improve student learning outcomes. This study aims to explore the influence of teacher leadership management in the implementation of the immersive learning approach on student learning achievement in SMK through a Systematic Literature Review. The method used is in accordance with the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. The results of the study indicate that the type of teacher leadership (instructional, transformational, and teaching) does not have a direct impact, but has an indirect impact on student learning outcomes through three main pathways: (1) improving teacher abilities and professionalism, (2) strengthening students' psychological aspects (such as self-confidence and resilience in learning), and (3) support from the social context and immersive learning strategies. The conclusion of this study confirms that teacher leadership management functions as a driver in building a learning ecosystem that supports the implementation of immersive learning, which ultimately contributes to improving SMK student learning outcomes, both academically and practically.

Abstract

This research was conducted to investigate whether the application of the Pair Programming influences the logo design competencies of students enrolled in vocational high schools (SMK), while also assessing the moderating Change Management as through the ADKAR framework. The study adopted a quasi-experimental methodology involving tenth-grade learners from the Visual Communication Design program at SMK Negeri 2 Magetan. Participants were allocated into two groups, consisting of an experimental cohort of 36 students and a control cohort of 108 students. To evaluate data, inferential statistics were applied, including Independent Sample t-test and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). Results showed no statistically meaningful difference in mean learning performance between students who engaged in collaborative learning and those who learned individually, as evidenced by a significance value of p = 0.9090. However, descriptive findings revealed that Pair Programming functioned as an effective safety net, maintaining the lowest student score at 57, slightly better than the individual method’s minimum of 56. Furthermore, the experimental group achieved a higher maximum score (97) compared to the control group (96). Regression analysis demonstrated that Change Management significantly moderates the effect of Pair Programming (p=0.001). The findings indicate a "safety net" effect for students with low mental readiness, while those with high readiness experienced an interference effect. The study concludes that the success of collaboration depends on technical instruction and heavily influenced by students' psychological readiness. Therefore, the implementation of Pair Programming should be accompanied by change management interventions to optimize student adaptation to a collaborative work culture.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the perceptions of students in the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education Program (PGMI) toward art-based learning innovation from the perspective of the Diffusion of Innovation Theory using a quantitative survey approach. The participants were PGMI students who had experienced art-based learning, and data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire distributed via Google Form, developed based on five innovation diffusion attributes: relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, trialability, and observability, as well as the level of innovation acceptance. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to identify trends in students’ perceptions for each attribute. The results indicate that all diffusion of innovation attributes achieved mean scores in the high to very high categories, with observability and acceptance of innovation showing the highest values. These findings suggest that the benefits of art-based learning are clearly observable and highly accepted by students. In addition, art-based learning is perceived to have greater relative advantages than conventional learning, strong compatibility with the PGMI educational context, and a relatively low level of complexity. Overall, the findings demonstrate that art-based learning is perceived as effective, relevant, and easy to adopt within the context of madrasah teacher education. This study implies that art-based learning has strong potential as an innovative instructional strategy to support creativity development, student engagement, and the professional readiness of PGMI students as prospective teachers. Future research is recommended to involve a broader range of respondents and to examine the long-term impact of art-based learning implementation on teaching practices in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the extent to which students of the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education program demonstrate innovativeness in utilizing interactive instructional materials developed through canva as an appropriate technology for learning. The study was conducted in response to the rapid advancement of digital technology in higher education and the need to strengthen the innovative capabilities of PGMI students as prospective Madrasah Ibtidaiyah teachers in the digital learning era. A quantitative approach using a survey method was employed, involving PGMI students who had utilized canva in learning activities as the research population. Data were collected through an online questionnaire distributed via Google Forms, using a closed-ended Likert-scale instrument developed based on indicators of innovativeness and learning technology adoption. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistical methods to describe the level of student innovativeness. The results indicate that PGMI students exhibit a good level of innovativeness in adopting canva as an appropriate learning technology, as they not only use canva as a visual design tool but also creatively develop it into contextual, engaging, and interactive teaching materials aligned with the characteristics of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah learners. However, the study is limited by the relatively small number of respondents and the exclusive use of descriptive statistical analysis, which restricts the generalizability of the findings; therefore, future research is recommended to apply inferential statistical analyses and involve more diverse respondent groups.

Abstract

This study aims to improve learning outcomes in the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) subject through the application of the Problem Driven Iterative Adaptation (PDIA) approach to class XI students of Electrical Power Installation Engineering at SMK KAL-1 Surabaya. The study used a Classroom Action Research design integrated with PDIA stages, including initial problem analysis, action planning, implementation, reflection, and continuous adaptation. The study was conducted in two cycles with 35 students as subjects. The research instruments included knowledge tests, practical skills assessments, and student activity observation sheets. Data were analyzed descriptively quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed an increase in learning outcomes in the domains of knowledge and practical skills. The average knowledge score increased from 75.23 in cycle I to 78.30 in cycle II, while the practical skills score increased from 76.33 to 80.26. Student learning completeness also increased until all students reached the Minimum Completeness Criteria in cycle II. In addition to improving learning outcomes, the application of PDIA encouraged students to be more active, reflective, and involved in solving PLC programming problems. These findings demonstrate that the PDIA approach effectively creates PLC learning that is adaptive, contextual, and responsive to the dynamics of student learning difficulties in vocational education. This approach offers practical implications for vocational teachers in designing learning strategies based on real-world industrial problems and strengthening students' critical thinking and technical problem-solving skills in a sustainable and measurable manner in the vocational school context.

Abstract

Learning motivation is a key factor that plays an important role in supporting the success of the learning process of elementary school students. High learning motivation encourages students to actively engage in learning activities, persist in completing tasks, and strive to achieve optimal learning outcomes. However, empirical conditions indicate that the learning motivation of elementary school students in Cirebon City remains relatively low. This situation highlights the need for appropriate instructional strategies that are able to provide positive reinforcement to students. One strategy that can be implemented is the provision of rewards in the learning process as a form of appreciation for students’ positive learning behaviors and efforts. This study aims to examine the relationship between the implementation of rewards in learning and the learning motivation of elementary school students in Cirebon City. The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The research subjects consisted of fifth-grade students from three elementary schools, namely SDN 1 Karang Jalak, SDN 1 Kedawung, and SDN Kalijaga Permai. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire that included indicators of reward implementation and student learning motivation. The collected data were analyzed descriptively using percentage analysis to describe the tendency of each variable. The results indicate that schools with higher levels of reward implementation tend to have higher levels of student learning motivation. Nevertheless, the findings also reveal that learning motivation is not solely influenced by rewards, but is also affected by other factors such as students’ intrinsic motivation, teacher support, learning environment, and parental involvement. Therefore, rewards function as effective reinforcement for positive learning behavior when applied proportionally, consistently, and contextually according to students’ needs in the learning process.

Abstract

Reading is an important component that students must have in learning activities. However, in reality, there are still students who cannot read well in the early grades or the final grades in elementary school, so a learning method is needed that can help facilitate students in reading. One of the learning methods used in this study is the sorogan method. The sorogan method is a learning method with individual tutoring. This research method uses qualitative descriptive research that aims to describe students reading abilities using the sorogan method. The subjects of this study were 10 students with the criteria of students who cannot read. Data collection in this study was in the form of observation, tests and documentation. Based on the research that has been done, it was found that the reading ability of MI Salafiyah Syafi'iyah students who applied the sorogan method had an average reading ability of very good. Of the 10 students, there are 6 students who have reading abilities with the criteria of Very Good, 2 students have reading abilities that are Quite Good and 2 students have reading abilities that are Not Good. The difficulties faced by students are that they cannot identify letters (vowels and consonants), read syllables, put words together into sentences, cannot spell or spell haltingly, and have difficulty concentrating. The application of the sorogan method can provide an alternative to improve students' reading skills.
