Abstract

The research focused on the influence of discovery learning. The purposes of this research were to reviewing the effect of discovery learning model to student’s learning motivation in MAN Bondowoso and to knew the effect of discovery learning’s model for student’s physics learning outcomes in MAN Bondowoso. The kind of this research was experiment by posttest only control design. Population of the research was class X at Islamic Senior High School Bondowoso. Technique to collect the data were observation, interview, documentation, test and questionnaire. Technique of data analysis were decriptive and Independent Sample t-test with SPSS 16. The result of independent sample t-test to student’s learning motivation showed value 0,0305≤ 0,05. While the result of independent sample t-test to learning outcomes showed value 0,000 ≤ 0,05. Based on that result could be concluded that: (1) discovery learning model significantly took effect to student’ learning motivation in MA; (2) discovery learning model significantly took effect to student’s physics learning outcomes in MA. Abstract

This research aimed to study the effect of GI-GI model on students scienceprocess skills and students multirepresentation ability of circular motion concept.This type of research was experimental research by post-test only control design.This research was conducted in SMAN 1 Jenggawah. Population in this study werestudents of class X at SMAN 1 Jenggawah of Academic Year 2016/2017. Sampleswere taken with cluster random sampling, X IPA 1 as an experiment class and X IPA2 a control class. The techniques of data collection were observation, interviews,documentation and testing. The technique of data analysis used independent samplet-test. The results of this analysis were obtained significance value of 0,000 forscience process skills of student and 0,000 for multiple representation ability ofstudent. It can be concluded that model of GI-GI give significantly effect on studentsscience process skills and students multirepresentation ability in learning circularmotion at SMAN 1 Jenggawah.Key words: circular motion, GI-GI model, multirepresentation ability, scienceprocess skills

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to describe the misconception that students on the geometricoptics use a Four-Tier Diagnostic Test in SMAN 1 Cluring. The population in thisresearch is the entire class XI in SMAN 1 Cluring. The selected samples for research area class of XI MIPA2, XI MIPA 3, and XI MIPA 4 which is selected using the method ofpurposive sampling area. Data collection methods used in this research is a method ofdocumentation and tests. The instruments used multiple choice diagnostic test shaped fourlevel. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion can be known that overallmisconception that students on the subject of geometric optics in SMAN 1 Cluring of37.62% so this qualifies a misconception to medium levels.Keywords: Misconception, Four-Tier Diagnostic Test, Geometric Optics

Abstract

This research related on the influence of Cooperative Learning model type of Student Achievement Division Team with images representation based LKS in Physics learning at class X SMKN 8 JEMBER. The purpose of this research is: 1) to test the significance of Cooperative Learning model type of Student Achievement Division Team with images representation based LKS in Physics Learning on the activities of students studying physics; and 2) to test the significance of Cooperative Learning model type of Student Achievement Division Team with images representation based LKS in Physics Learning on the cognitive learning physics students. This research is an experimental research, with post-test only control design. This research population is class X at SMKN 8 Jember. Technique to collect the data uses test, observation, documentation, and interviews. Technique to analyze data is Independent-sample T-test (parametric test). The results showed that there is a significant differences between student’s learning physics activities in experimental class and control class with value of Sig.(1-tailed) < 0.05. Meanwhile, the results also showed that there were significant differences between the cognitive learning physics class students experiment and control class with value Sig. (1-tailed)<0.05. The conclusions of the research is : (1) Cooperative Learning model type of Student Achievement Division Team with images representation based LKS influenced significantly on the student’s physics learning activities at class X SMK N 8 Jember, (2) Cooperative Learning model type of Student Achievement Division Team with images representation based LKS influenced significantly on the student’s physics learning cognitive of students at class X SMK N 8 Jember. Abstract

AbstractOne of physics material’s character was abstract, that charactercaused the students got difficulties. Besides that, the unconsecutive materialwas becomes a weakness in the displays of material in physics books at school.One of solution to solve this problems was using the concept mapping module.The purposes of this research were to describe the validity of modules,effectiveness, and practicality. The research method used was 4D model whichsuggested by Thiagarajan, Semmel and Semmel. The result of this researchwas module classified as valid by the value of validity was 85,47%, modulewas effective by value of retention 98,79%, module classified as practical byvalue of student response was 67,71%. Based on these data, it can beconcluded that the module was very valid, effective and practical for used inlearning.Keyword: module, concept mapping, 4D model

Abstract

Understanding concepts was the most important thing in learning. The purpose of learning closely related to the cognitive domain. There were still many students didn’t know about physics concept. So, we need to identify understanding of concept physics. One way to identify an understanding of physics concept was using diagnostic test, there was Four Tier Test. Four tier test was a four level multiple choice test that was developed from diagnostic tests of three level multiple choice. This identification can be used by teachers in determining strategies, models, methods, and techniques to improve students' conceptual understanding. The research method was descriptive research. The subjects of this research were done in second grade high school students of Jember Distric. Data collection techniques used in this research was test, and the instrument was four level multiple choice. The result of the research showed that the understanding of the dynamic fluid concept in high school is 22.86%, and then which 29.21% are included category misconception, 7.09% are included in the category of not understanding concept, 34.92% are included in the category partial understand, and 5.93% are include in the category can not be encoded, it is mean students didn’t complete the answer on each level.Key word: Physics, Fluid Dynamics, Understanding concepts, Four Tier Test

Abstract

This study focuses on the effect of Problem Based Instruction learning model with Pictorial Riddle method. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of Problem Based Instruction learning model with Pictorial Riddle method on the result of student’s learning physics subject in high school and to describe the students’ skill of critical thinking of students by using Problem Based Instruction learning with Pictorial Riddle method on physics subject in high school. The kind of this study is experiment with a modified post-test only control group design. Sample of this study was students of class XI in SMAN Arjasa. Data were collected by observation, documentation, testing, and interviews. Data were analyzed by Independent Sample T-Test with SPSS 22 and the percentage of the students’ skill of critical thinking. The results of this study showed that the average of learning results of experimental class is 78.05 and the control class is 67.05. The analysis of data used Independent Sample T-Test, learning results are obtained sig.(2-tailed) of 0.000 or 0.000 ≤ 0.05. This study can be concluded that there is significant influence of Problem Based Instruction learning model with Pictorial Riddle method on the result of student’s learning physics subject in high school. The results of the analysis of the students’ skill of critical thinking are obtained an averrage achievement of all the indicators of 64.91% with the good level of mastery.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the eligibility of integrated science learning module based on local potential on the topic of objects transformation.This research were developed by Borg and Gall method that modified into four step, that is : (1) front-end analysis, (2) designing module, (3) validation and revision, and (4) testing module and final revision. The design of field testing is The One Group Pretest-Posttest Design.The results show thatintegrated sciences module based potential local on the topic of objects transformation is proper to be applied in learning. This can be seen from the validation assesment criteria gets valid with a assesment scores reached 3,8 which is proper with BSNP’s criteria. The practically assesment shown from percentage 94,44% with a criteria pratice, indicating that the students are very gave a positive response, The effectiveness assesment shown from improvement student learning outcomes showed in the medium category indicated by the calculation of the gain score 0,4735. It could be concluded that the sciences module based potential local on the topic of objects transformation fit for use and effectively to increae the result of student learning. Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research were to examine the effect of contextual learningmodel of Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, and Transferring (REACT)with Virtual Simulation to critical thinking ability and student learning activity inSenior High School. The type of this research was experimental research using posttest only control group design. Population in this research was the tenth gradestudents of SMAN 2 Jember. The data were collected by observation, documentation,interview and test. The data were analyzed using Independent Sample T-Test withSPSS 24. The results showed that the average value of critical thinking ability ofexperimental class was 81,15 and control class was 69,91. In result of activity valueof experiment class was 86,943 and control class was 79,934. This study can beconcluded REACT learning model with virtual simulation have an effect onsignificance to critical thinking ability and student activity in physics learning insenior high school.Keywords: Contextual learning model of REACT, virtual simulation, criticalthinking, student learning activity

Abstract

Science process skills is a capability which purpose is to develop and apply students' knowledge in solving problems so that students are trained and able to understand a concept scientifically. This article aims was to identify students science process skills conducted through tests on the subject of simple current circuits. This study was conducted with 18 students as respondents. The instrument used is 2 problems with each question consisting of 4 points. The results showed that with a percentage of 54.24%. Of the 6 indicators contained in the skills of the science process, the average percentage of the highest indicator is on the plan indicator to test the hypothesis with a percentage of 72.56% and the lowest indicator is the result of experiments with a percentage of 39.77%. The results indicate that students are not accustomed to experimenting in the learning process at school.Kata kunci : Identifikasi, Keterampilan proses sains, Rangkaian arus sederhana
