Abstract

College students' creativity can be seen based on the novelty of research. The main objective of this study was to analyze trends research and publicationof the master of science education at the State University of Surabaya. The descriptive qualitative method used  in this study. The data of this study collected by analyse the last five years research abstracts from 2015 to 2020. The data obtained were analyzed using a total sampling technique. Research trends and publication in the Master of Science education at the State University of Surabaya are mostly researching about the development of learning tools with qualitative-quantitative methods and research topics about innovative learning in the field of thinking skills. Some college student research uses curriculum topics, learning media, and assessments. While the publication trend is obtained by analyzing the publication of student articles resulting from the thesis based on the analysis of publications in the category of international and national journals. Department heads need policy recommendations in making decisions to improve research trends and college student publications. current study result implies that research trends in the Master of Science education at the State University of Surabaya require further innovation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve science process skills and cognitive learning outcomes of class XI students of Middle 1 Praya Middle school year 2017/2018. The subject of this study were 31 students of class XI IPA-3 Praya Tengah as many as 31 people. This type of research is classroom action research conducted in two cycles. Data collection techniques used observation techniques for the implementation of learning, and tests as many as 20 questions. The results of the learning implementation observation in the first cycle = 41% and in the second cycle was 66%. Cognitive learning outcomes of students reach an average in the first cycle of 56.6 with classical completeness of 38.70% and experienced an increase in the second cycle with an average of 64.35 with classical completeness of 54.83%. Thus, the method of group discussion can improve science process skills and cognitive learning outcomes of class XI Middle Praya 1 Middle School 2017/2018 academic year.

Abstract

High Order Thinking skill (HOTS) students very needed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Objective study this is to determine the effectiveness of the hybrid learning model to High Tinking Order Skill (HOTS) students at the Microbiology MK at IKIP Budi Utomo. Method research used is quasi-experimental. The research subjects are IKIP Budi Utomo students who are currently studying go through eye studying microbiology in the even semester 2020/2021. Technical data analysis performed for know the distribution of research data with the n -normality test using the SPSS 16 program. The differences between the pretest and posttest values of the subject groups were tested. Differences in posttest scores, HOTS scores were analyzed using the General Linear Model (GLM) Multivariate SPSS 16 program. Research results show the average HOTS with hybrid learning (72.2727) is more tall compared to learning conventional (54.2857). Further test results show there is significant difference between the hybrid learning model and the conventional model against student HOTS. In conclusion, the hybrid learning model is effective in improve student HOTS in learning microbiology.

Abstract

A good learning process must begin with planning in advance. in the learning process it must be done as attractively as possible so that students are motivated and enthusiastic to learn, The transition from the conventional learning process to digital learning provides a significant change, while the purpose of the study is to determine the extent to which the implementation and effectiveness of using spreadsheet learning media in improving student learning outcomes and to find out how much increase in student learning outcomes after learning using spreadsheet learning media. The type of research used is a mixed method with an experimental approach. The data collection technique used is a survey technique, with interview instruments, questionnaires and documentation. from the significance of the table that is 0.05. So that the pretest and posttest value data are normally distributed. To determine the difference in the results of the pretest and posttest, it was continued with a paired sample T test using the SPSS version 22.0 program with a calculated significance value of 0.000 and to see the effectiveness of using spreadsheet learning media, a statistical test was carried out using the N Gain score test. The results of the study found that the use of spreadsheet learning media was effective in improving learning outcomes with a percent N-Gain score of 47% which was in the medium category (quite effective).

Abstract

This research was aimed to improve the students’ learning achievement and critical thinking ability through problem based learning (PBL) model, the method which was applied in this research was classroom action research. It consisted of two cycles and each cycle consisted of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The data was taken by giving the students test, it was in form of multiple choice test. The was used to know the students learning achievement to know students critical thinking, essay test was used. The finding of the research show that there was improvement from cycle to cycle. (1) at the first cycle: the percentage score of students mastery was 63.16% ; the mean score of the students critical thinking ability was 51.31 ; (2) at the second cycle : percentage score of the students mastery was 85% ; mean score of the students critical thinking ability was 72.08 and catagorized into critical and between 62.59 – 81.25. based on the finding, it can be concluded that problem based learning (PBL) model can improve the students learning achievement and critical thinking ability.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of PhET-assisted problem solving methods on students' critical thinking skills. This research is a quasi-experimental research with pretest posttest control group design. Sampling was done by simple random sampling technique, namely class XI IPA-1 as the experimental class and XI IPA-2 as the control class. The research was conducted in one of the senior high schools in Central Lombok – West Nusa Tenggara. The data analysis technique used is t-test using SPSS. The result of hypothesis testing is that the t-test value is less than 0.05. These results indicate that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Based on the results of research and data analysis, it can be concluded that the PhET-assisted problem solving learning method affects students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the characteristic 'water quality' river ancar Mataram city based on biological, chemical, and physics as bioremidiasi waters. The type of this research is descriptive explorative and research method used is survey, laboratory analysis, and case study, ie method of all aspects must be observed fully, while the data analysis is only valid for certain place and time period. The results showed that, overall observation and identification of 6 research sampling stations, 21 species were identified with four microlagae classes: Bacillariophyceae, Cyanopyceae, Chlorophyceae and Crysophyceae. Bacillariophyceae class is the class that has the most types, then Cyanophyceae, Chlorophyceae and Chrisophyceae. Factors supporting the growth of bologic components such as pH, temperature, light intensity, salinity with the range of each 7.2-8.3; 25-27 ° C; 1011-1800 lux; 3-3.2%, nutrients (N and P), according to the microalgae living conditions which are the most primitive plant organisms that are small in size, live in all waters, both rivers and seawater.

Abstract

Problem Based Learning (PBL) is a student-oriented approach. PBL is a student-centered approach that can answer 21t century educational challenges. This research approach applies the PBL approach assisted by Mobile Augmented Reality (MAR) as a technology-based media that combines the virtual world with the real world to science process skills and achievement. The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of the PBL approach assisted with MAR on the learning process skills and outcomes of the students at the Primary Education Teacher Program of Universitas Katolik Indonesia (UNIKA) St. Paulus Ruteng. The research design used was a pretest/posttest control group design with a one-way MANOVA statistical test. Based on the results of hypothesis testing (F test) shows that 1) there is a significant difference in the science process skills of students who take learning with the MAR-assisted PBL model and students who take conventional learning; 2) there is a significant difference in the learning outcomes of students who take learning with the PBL model assisted by MAR and students who take conventional learning; 3) there is a significant difference in the skill process and science learning outcomes of students who take learning with the MAR-assisted PBL model and students who take conventional learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to produce teaching materials based on Brain-based learning that appropriate to improve student’s learning achievement on the topic of salt hydrolysis. The development models of teaching materials used 4-D models using one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of the research were teaching materials based on Brain-based learning that tried to 30 students of XI grade MIA 1 MA Nahdhatul Ulama Sidoarjo in academic year of 2015/2016. The data-collecting techniques in this research were validation, observation, test, and questionnaire. The results showed that (1) the validity of the lesson plans, student book, worksheet, and learning achievement test were valid; (2) the readability level of student book and worksheet were good category; (3) learning feasibility were good category; (4) the students activities refers to student-centered learning; (5) majority of students gave positive response to learning process; (6) all of students achieved learning completeness criteria on aspect of cognitive, attitudes, and skills. Based on these results, it could be concluded that the teaching materials based on Brain-based learning were appropriate to improve student’s learning achievement on the salt hydrolysis topic.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness implementation of training in making ICT-based learning media for teachers. This evaluation research uses the CIPP evaluation model from Stuffelbeam with quantitative and qualitative approaches. The subjects of this study were participants, instructors and training providers, with the object of research being documentation of the implementation of ICT-based media creation training, the instructor's performance, and the work and impact reports of the training participants. Based on the results of the research evaluation of the effectiveness of the implementation of training in making ICT-based learning media for teachers at LPMP West Sulawesi, it can be results (1) Context Aspect is the suitability of the objectives of the implementation of the training program for making ICT-based learning media with the Vision and Mission of the LPMP West Sulawesi. The training service was considered very satisfactory at 93% and declared effective at 7%. (3) In the process aspect, the trainees assessed that the performance of the training instructor was very effective, 95% of the respondents gave an assessment of being very effective and the remaining 5% gave an effective assessment of the instructor's performance. (4) Product Aspect, the percentage of teachers who can fulfill the assignment requirements is 95% for video work or about 40 teachers from a total of 42 participants, while for impacting there are 39 teachers who submit impact reports or around 93%. The implementation of training on making ICT-based learning media for teachers at the West Sulawesi LPMP is running effectively.
