Abstract

The use of valid and high-quality Student Worksheets (LKPD) plays an important role in supporting learning. The STEAM-PjBL (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics–Project Based Learning) approach is considered capable of increasing student engagement and 21st-century skills, but studies on the validity of integrated STEAM-PjBL LKPD for phase F students are still limited. This study aims to analyze the validity level of STEAM-PjBL integrated LKPD through a meta-analysis of 10 scientific articles in accredited journals. The analysis was conducted descriptively on the aspects of content, language, and presentation. The results show that the average validity of the content aspect is 90.14%, language 89.90%, and presentation 89.57% with a category of highly valid. Thus, integrated STEAM-PjBL worksheets are declared highly suitable for use in learning.

Abstract

The integration of Islamic values into Biology learning at Madrasah Aliyah is a curricular requirement and a distinctive characteristic of Islamic educational institutions. However, its classroom implementation still faces various challenges. This study aims to analyze the problems encountered by teachers in integrating Islamic values into Biology learning at State Madrasah Aliyah in Tanah Datar Regency. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that teachers face challenges such as limited conceptual understanding of Islamic and science integration, difficulties in linking Biology content with Qur’anic verses and Hadith, limited instructional time, lack of integrated teaching materials, and diverse educational backgrounds. Teachers address these challenges by contextualizing Islamic values, engaging in collaborative discussions with colleagues, and utilizing additional learning resources..

Abstract

This study discusses the challenges faced by teachers in integrating Biology learning with Islam in State Islamic Senior High Schools (Madrasah Aliyah Negeri), encompassing conceptual, pedagogical, and structural difficulties and challenges. The study aims to systematically examine the forms, sources, and characteristics of these challenges through a literature review. The research design employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with the stages of searching, selecting, and reviewing accredited scientific articles. Data sources were obtained from Indonesian and English articles on Google Scholar (2019–2026) relevant to the integration of Biology and Islam. Content analysis was conducted on eight articles that met the criteria, resulting in findings that challenges faced by teachers in integrating Biology learning with Islam include limited integrated teaching materials, uneven pedagogical and interdisciplinary scientific competencies, curriculum and learning resource constraints, and limited structural support. This study is expected to serve as a reference for developing Biology learning that is more integrated with Islam in State Islamic Senior High Schools (Madrasah Aliyah Negeri).

Abstract

The integration of Biology learning and Islamic values is a distinctive feature of Madrasah Aliyah; however, its implementation has not been optimal. This study aims to analyze the problems faced by Biology teachers in integrating Biology and Islamic values Madrasah Aliyah Negeri in Padang City. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed involving all 11 Biology teachers. Data were collected using a closed-ended questionnaire covering integrative pedagogical competence, instructional planning and implementation, learning resources, institutional support, and professional development. Data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative techniques based on mean scores. The results indicate that the problems remain high, with mean scores of 17.57 for teachers’ competence, 18.09 for instructional implementation, and 20.33 for system and resource support, all categorized as problematic. These findings indicate that the integration of Biology and Islamic values has not been optimally implemented and requires improvements in teachers’ competence, instructional practices, and institutional support.

Abstract

Problem-solving ability is an essential competence that needs to be developed in students to face real-life problems, particularly those related to environmental issues. This study aimed to analyze students’ problem-solving abilities on the topic of environmental change and conservation for Phase E at SMA N 3 Solok. The research employed a descriptive quantitative approach. The research subjects were Phase E students of SMA N 3 Solok selected using a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument was a problem-solving ability test developed based on five indicators: defining the problem, examining the problem, planning solutions, implementing the plan, and evaluating the solution. The data were analyzed using percentage analysis techniques. The results showed that students’ problem-solving abilities were generally in the category of needing improvement. The indicator of defining the problem demonstrated better achievement compared to other indicators, while the indicators of examining the problem, planning solutions, implementing the plan, and evaluating the solution still require improvement. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a basis for developing learning strategies oriented toward improving students’ problem-solving abilities in the context of biology learning and sustainable environmental education. Abstract

Critical thinking skills are very important in the Biology learning process because they enable students to understand concepts in depth, analyze natural phenomena, and solve problems logically. This study aims to determine the effect of various learning models on students' critical thinking skills in Biology. The method used in this study was a literature review by collecting and analyzing 10 articles published between 2017 and 2024. The results of the study indicate that critical thinking skills in Biology learning can be influenced by various learning models that can improve students' critical thinking skills. Learning models such as Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Project-Based Learning (PjBL), and Discovery Learning have been proven effective in improving critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Environmental issues are closely related to everyday life, which require education to play a crucial role in developing students with good environmental literacy. The goal of improving environmental literacy is to prepare a younger generation to act and behave positively towards the environment. Three elements are used to measure environmental literacy: cognitive, affective, and behavioral. This study aims to systematically assess students' environmental literacy. The method used was a systematic literature review of ten relevant research articles. The results of the study indicate that environmental literacy is generally effective in improving the quality of the learning process. However, the effectiveness of environmental literacy is greatly influenced by educator readiness, learning design, and the availability of learning tools and time.

Abstract

Strengthening religious moderation in senior high schools is a strategic necessity in addressing the dynamics of Indonesia’s diverse society, particularly in the archipelagic regions with high social and cultural diversity. One approach to instilling values of religious moderation is through the development of contextual learning materials rooted in local wisdom. Ethno-science, as an integration of modern scientific knowledge and local wisdom, has the potential to create meaningful learning experiences while fostering moderate attitudes among students. This study aims to develop and assess the feasibility of ethno-science-based science learning materials integrated with religious moderation values for 10th-grade students in senior high schools. The study employed a research and development (R&D) design, limited to the planning, design, and formative evaluation stages through expert validation, referring to Kemp’s instructional design model. The developed products included Lesson Plans (RPP), Student Worksheets (LKPD), and Learning Outcome Assessment Sheets (LP-THB). Feasibility was assessed by content, instructional, and language experts using validation instruments analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. The results showed that the RPP received an average score of 3.53 (valid category), LKPD scored 3.46 (valid category), and LP-THB scored 3.76 (very valid category). The reliability of the three instruments was high: 96.52% for RPP, 89.40% for LKPD, and 95.08% for LP-THB. These findings indicate that the developed ethno-science-based learning materials are theoretically feasible for use in 10th-grade science instruction after revisions based on expert feedback. This study confirms that ethno-science-based instructional development has the potential to serve as an alternative learning design that not only enhances science education quality but also supports the strengthening of religious moderation. However, this study is limited to expert validation and has not yet proceeded to classroom implementation or effectiveness testing.
