Abstract

This quasi-experimental study investigates the effectiveness of implementing the Flipped Classroom model assisted by Genially interactive media in improving junior high school students' Mathematical Problem-Solving Ability (MPSA) and self-efficacy. The research design applied was a nonequivalent control group design. The subjects were from the entire population of eighth-grade students at Haruru Christian Middle School for the 2024/2025 academic year, with the sample selected using purposive sampling. The sample consisted of class VIII1 (23 students) as the experimental group and class VIII2 (25 students) as the control group. Data was collected using two instruments: an MPSA essay test (5 questions, α=0.81) and a self-efficacy questionnaire (20 statements, α=0.87). Data analysis was performed using Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA). The findings revealed a significant simultaneous difference between the experimental and control groups on MPSA and self-efficacy (Pillai's Trace = 0.381, F = 18.752, p < .001). Follow-up tests indicated that significant differences occurred in both MPSA (F=18.329, p<.001) and self-efficacy (F=15.874, p<.001), with the experimental group achieving higher mean scores on both variables. Based on these results, it is concluded that the Genially-assisted Flipped Classroom model is effective in significantly enhancing students' mathematical problem-solving ability and self-efficacy. The implication of this finding advocates for the integration of interactive technology in mathematics learning to develop skills relevant to the 21st century.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of using SUNO AI as a music-based learning medium on students’ cognitive learning outcomes in the topic of biological classification. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a Randomized Control Group Posttest Only Design, involving two grade X classes at SMA Negeri 1 Baso, namely X E2 as the experimental class and X E4 as the control class. The instrument used was a multiple-choice test consisting of 20 items with a maximum score of 100. The findings revealed that the average posttest score of the experimental class was 75.5, higher than the control class which scored 56.9. These results indicate that SUNO AI can enhance students’ concentration, memory, motivation, and understanding of biological concepts, in line with various learning theories that emphasize the effectiveness of music-based media in supporting the learning process.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the following objectives: (1) To determine the effect of using the Discovery Learning learning model on the achievement of science learning outcomes in fifth grade students of Waikarya State Elementary School; (2) To determine the differences in science learning outcomes between students who are taught using the Discovery Learning learning model and students who use the conventional learning model. The research method used was a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, namely using the Nonequivalent Control Group Design pattern. Data collection techniques were carried out through tests and documentation, while data analysis used bivariate analysis to identify significant differences in averages. The research instrument was a science learning outcome test given at the pretest and posttest stages. The analysis results using the Mann-Whitney U test showed U = 0.000, Z = -6.348, with an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < α = 0.05, so the hypothesis was accepted. With df = 24 (N-2), the r table value was 0.404, which strengthens the finding of a significant difference in learning outcomes. Conclusion of research findings, it can be concluded that (1) the use of the Discovery Learning model has a positive and significant influence on the science learning outcomes of fifth grade students; (2) there is a real difference in science learning outcomes between the experimental group and the control group. The results of the Mann-Whitney U test show a significance value <0.05 and are supported by a comparison of the r table (0.404) with statistical results. Thus, student learning outcomes in classes using Discovery Learning are higher than those in classes using conventional learning, so it can be concluded that the Discovery Learning model is more effective to implement.

Abstract

This study analyzes the development of students’ self-regulated learning in Science Education (IPA) based on Islamic values in the Materials and Energy course. This qualitative descriptive research involved eight second-semester students of the Tadris IPA Study Program at IAIN Ambon. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and students’ learning reflections, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings reveal that Islamic values such as gratitude (syukur), trustworthiness (amanah), and discipline play a significant role in strengthening students’ self-regulation learning across three learning phases: forethought (intention and goal setting), performance control (time and strategy management), and self-reflection (spiritual evaluation of learning outcomes). The application of these values enhanced students’ intrinsic motivation, independence, and scientific responsibility. Overall, Islamic values-based science learning effectively fosters reflective, independent, and religious scientific character grounded in spiritual awareness.

Abstract

One of the teaching media used at SMA Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan is Student Worksheets (LKPD), but it is still simple, does not include the learning model recommended in the Independent Curriculum, and does not include an approach in the learning process, resulting in low student interest and learning outcomes. One step to solve this problem is to develop Student Worksheets based on PjBL-Deep Learning. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) development study using the Four-D model. The subjects of this study were two lecturers from the Department of Biology, FMIPA UNP and one biology teacher as a validator. The subjects of this study were one biology teacher and 31 Phase E students at SMA Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The research data are primary data obtained through research instruments including teacher interview sheets, student questionnaires, validity questionnaires, and practicality questionnaires. This data was analyzed qualitatively and descriptively quantitatively. Based on the research that has been conducted, the resulting PjBL-Deep Learning based LKPD on the biodiversity material of phase E is very valid (88.28%) and very practical (100% score by teachers and 87.47% score by students). Thus, a PBL-based LKPD on environmental change material for Phase E students has been developed and produced that is very valid and very practical.

Abstract

This study discusses the importance of motivation in the learning process, with a focus on the use of the educational game wordwall as a medium to enhance students’ learning motivation. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of using wordwall in increasing students’ learning motivation based on a literature review. In the reviewed literature, the author found that low learning motivation is often caused by a lack of teacher innovation in utilizing technology. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, this study collected and analyzed ten articles published between 2020 and 2025 that highlighted the effectiveness of wordwall. The analysis results indicate that wordwall not only enhances learning motivation but also improves students’ understanding of the material, critical thinking skills, and creativity. The gamification elements in wordwall create an interactive and enjoyable learning experience, effectively addressing the boredom often associated with conventional teaching methods. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating technology-based learning media into modern teaching strategies to improve the quality of education.

Abstract

This research is a development study using the Four-D Model development model. The research instruments used in this study were interview guidelines for teachers, student questionnaires, validity test questionnaires, and practicality test questionnaires. The LKPD was validated by two lecturers from the Department of Biology, FMIPA UNP, one biology teacher, and 28 students from MAN 1 Kota Padang Phase E Academic Year 2025/2026 to test the practicality of the product. Based on the results of the initial and final analysis, the LKPD developed is a PjBL-STEM-based LKPD on biodiversity material for Phase E students. The validity of the PjBL-STEM-based LKPD is 88.64% (highly valid), and the practicality test results by teachers are 90.97% (highly practical) and practicality scores by students are 89.97% (highly practical). The average practicality test results by teachers and students were 90.47% (very practical). Thus, the developed LKPD is highly valid and highly practical.

Abstract

Creative thinking skills are important to develop so that students are able to meet the demands of today's learning. In Biology, this ability is needed to understand problems, generate ideas, and find solutions independently. This study aims to describe the level of creative thinking skills of grade XI Fase F Bio F SMAN 2 Padang students based on five indicators, namely fluency, flexibility, originality, elaboration, and curiosity. The study used a quantitative descriptive method with an essay test as the main instrument. The results of the analysis showed that the creative thinking skills of students were not yet evenly distributed and some indicators were still in the low category. These findings emphasize the need for learning that encourages exploration, courage to express opinions, and idea development. Overall, students' creative thinking skills still need to be strengthened through learning activities that stimulate higher-level thinking processes.

Abstract

Creative thinking skills are one of the important competencies in 21st-century learning that need to be developed in students. This study aims to analyze the effect of the Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) model on students' creative thinking skills. This article uses a literature review approach to analyze the effect of the Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) model on students' creative thinking skills. This approach was chosen because it allows for an in-depth synthesis of various current literature sources. Data were collected through a systematic search of leading academic databases such as Google Scholar and ScienceDirect for the period 2015-2025. The results of the analysis show that the application of the Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) model consistently has a positive and significant effect on improving students' creative thinking skills. This review is limited to eight articles, which may not fully represent the broader scope of research implementation in various educational contexts. Future research is expected to integrate a larger and more diverse collection of sources.

Abstract

Twenty-first-century learning requires instructional approaches that promote deep understanding and active student engagement. Pedagogical deep learning emphasizes mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning. This study aims to systematically review the implementation of pedagogical deep learning in educational practices. A Systematic Literature Review was conducted by analyzing ten relevant research articles. The findings indicate that deep learning-based instruction enhances student engagement, conceptual understanding, higher-order thinking skills, and learning motivation. However, its effectiveness depends on teacher readiness and instructional design. Overall, pedagogical deep learning shows strong potential as an effective instructional approach when implemented in a planned and contextual manner.
