Abstract

Entrepreneurship education is an important element in equipping young people with the necessary skills and mindset to face future economic challenges. The spirit of entrepreneurship among teenagers through interactive and fun educational activities. This activity was conducted at Angkatan Belia Islam (ABI), Penang, Malaysia, in October 2024, and was designed in the form of inspiring motivational talks and educational games that stimulate critical thinking and creativity. The results of the activity showed that such an interactive approach is effective in improving adolescents' understanding of the basic principles of entrepreneurship as well as motivating them to develop their entrepreneurial potential early on. The results of this activity confirm that entrepreneurship education is not only relevant, but also essential in building an independent, creative and innovative generation in the future.

Abstract

This study investigates all the challenges and factors affecting the learners' of East Tapinac in terms of their reading performance, especially those difficulties related to alphabetic knowledge, reading comprehension, emotional responses to reading, as well as the effectiveness of teaching strategies employed by the students' teachers of Gordon College, BSEd English. The mixed-method approach adopted for the present study understands such difficulties with a representative sample of young readers by merging qualitative observations and interviews with the learners. The study suggests that the various challenges confronting the struggling reader demand a multi-modal approach with frequent reading practice and bespoke treatments. These findings add to making more effective literacy programs so that children can become proficient readers.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a masterplan for ecotourism in Desa Lampageu using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach. The research explores how local assets—both natural and cultural—can be mobilized for sustainable development. A qualitative descriptive methodology was employed, involving Focus Group Discussions (FGD), field observations, and interviews with community members, local leaders, and stakeholders. Data collection spanned three months and focused on identifying assets, creating a digital tourism map, and drafting a comprehensive masterplan integrated with the village budget. Results indicate that the ABCD approach fosters community participation and ownership, leading to practical outcomes such as new facilities and enhanced tourism visibility. This model offers replicable strategies for other villages aiming to achieve sustainable ecotourism.

Abstract

This community-based action research presents the implementation of the community-based reading program aimed at addressing the literacy needs of learners in Olongapo City. Utilizing the data from the stakeholders and barangay committees on education, the program identified learners requiring reading remediation and trained teacher education and communication students to deliver as implementers of the basic reading instructions. The action research initiative followed a structured framework: identifying needs, training implementers, program implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. The study emphasized the importance of evidence-based practices, community engagement, and reflective processes in developing sustainable educational interventions. It highlights the potential of targeted programs to foster academic growth and strengthen community partnerships in addressing the community's needs.

Abstract

This activity provide knowledge about accounting for MSMEs for SMK N 1 Tempel students who will take part in the Field Work Practice program. Large number of MSME who have difficulties in financial recording and calculating Cost of Goods Sold. Thus, they have difficulty in assessing whether their business is profit or loss-making. The purpose of this community service is to provide knowledge to students while FWP in MSMEs about accounting and simple bookkeeping skills so that they are able to prepare financial reports. This activity is carried out using a training method consisting of preparation, assessment, implementation, and evaluation stages.  The results achieved from this activity are delivering knowledge and bookkeeping skills, calculating COGS and preparing MSME financial reports.

Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to provide training to lecturers at UPMI University so that they can improve their digital competence in creating visually-based teaching materials using Canva . This activity also aims to foster lecturers' creativity in developing more engaging and easily understood teaching materials, as well as to enhance student involvement in the learning process. The research method employed in this activity is a training method that includes the introduction of basic theory, hands-on practice, and mentoring for lecturers in using the Canva application. The training is conducted step-by-step, allowing lecturers to create their own teaching materials, which are then evaluated by facilitators for feedback and design improvements. The results of this activity indicate that most of the lecturers who participated in the training successfully enhanced their competence in using Canva for creating teaching materials.

Abstract

Poverty, being a major problem in Bintan Regency, hampers people's access to their basic food needs. The purpose of the "Distribution of Secanting Rice to Underprivileged Families" program is to help underprivileged families overcome their difficulties in life by providing rice. This community service aims to find out how the mechanism for distributing secanting rice assistance to underprivileged families works. This program involves various elements of society, from funding, fundraising, or donations, to providing direct assistance to target families. The results of community service related to the implementation of this program show an increase in household food security and greater social concern among the Bintan community. This program is expected to be a long-term solution to the food problems of poor families.

Abstract

This research aims to apply the principles of Superior Waste Management by processing rice husks into products that are economically valuable and environmentally friendly, such as charcoal briquettes and biochar. This research was conducted in Senaning Village, Jambi, with an approach that involved community participation through training. The research results show that briquettes made from rice husks have high calorific value and low water content, making them very suitable for use as an alternative fuel source. Apart from that, the biochar produced is also able to improve soil quality and store carbon, which provides important benefits for the agricultural sector and reduces the impact of climate change. This program not only helps reduce pollution, but also opens up additional economic opportunities for the community

Abstract

The statistics training using the SPSS application in the Management Department, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Pattimura aims to enhance students' understanding and skills in analyzing quantitative research data. In today’s era of technological advancement, proficiency in statistics and its applications is crucial for students to produce competent and high-quality research. This training involved 22 students and was conducted in the Marketing and Business Laboratory through lectures, discussions, and hands-on practice. The speaker, a lecturer from La Trobe University, Australia, provided insights into using SPSS for both descriptive and inferential data analysis. The step-by-step application of SPSS for descriptive and inferential statistics was demonstrated with practical examples, making it easier for students to understand.
