Abstract

The village, as the smallest unit of governance within Indonesia’s governmental system, nonetheless holds a strategic role in realising justice for the community. The involvement of the Muhammadiyah Branch Association, as a community-based organisation at the village level, serves as a frontline force in addressing social issues within society, particularly legal problems faced by underprivileged citizens. The presence of legal cadres within the Muhammadiyah Branch Association is expected to provide legal assistance in resolving legal issues and offering solutions that can be addressed at the village level. One of the challenges faced is the limited number of human resources at the branch level with legal expertise. A viable solution to this problem is to enhance legal knowledge through Paralegal Training for Muhammadiyah branch cadres. Before engaging with the community, paralegals are equipped with both theoretical and practical legal knowledge to handle and resolve legal issues encountered by the public. Strengthening the competence of Muhammadiyah branch cadres as paralegals is expected to optimally support village governments in addressing and solving legal challenges at the village level. In the future, paralegals are envisioned to become agents of change in the realisation of legally empowered villages.

Abstract

The transfer of ownership of land due to inheritance is a form of transfer of rights regulated in Law Number 5 of 1960 concerning the Basic Regulation of Agrarian Principles (UUPA). The transfer of Land Rights is carried out through Land Registration, which is regulated in Government Regulation Number 24 of 1997 concerning Land Registration. Juridically, when the owner of the land dies, then in the interest of the law, the title to the land passes to the heirs. In practice, this process often raises problems, because there has been no transfer to the heirs, who are constrained by the determination of heirs, and the completeness and validity of the proof documents as heirs are proven by the Certificate of Inheritance (SKW) or Court Determination. This research uses a normative juridical method with a legislative approach. The results of the study show that the main obstacle in the transfer of rights due to inheritance comes from the lack of public understanding of the administrative procedures of inheritance and the transition process in Agrarian and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) of the National Land. The absence of this transition process has caused problems among the heirs, so it is necessary to transfer rights for the sake of legal certainty.

Abstract

Juvenile delinquency is a social problem that often occurs among school students. One form of prevention of juvenile delinquency in schools is through legal counseling activities. Legal counseling activities at SMA Tiga Bahasa (SBTH) Magelang aim to provide insight to school children about the dangers of juvenile delinquency. This counseling activity is expected to increase legal understanding from an early age to school children so that students are able to recognize the legal consequences and social impacts of any deviant behavior. The methods used in this activity are legal counseling and questions and answers with students regarding the abuse of narcotics, alcohol, psychotropics, and addictive substances (NAPZA), bullying, and the misuse of sharp weapons. Thus, with this legal counseling, the result show that students of SMA Tiga Bahasa (SBTH) Magelang can develop a sense of discipline and responsibility, and play an active role in creating a safe, orderly, and conducive school environment. This activity is also a preventive effort to reduce the number of juvenile delinquency and support the formation of a young generation that is aware of the law and has a positive character.

Abstract

In today's digital era, adolescents often fall into delinquency, such as spreading negative content on social media, cyberbullying, and data privacy violations due to low digital legal literacy. This problem is exacerbated by a lack of understanding of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE), the Personal Data Protection Law, and the Criminal Code (KUHP) regarding juvenile crime. This community service activity aims to promote digital legal literacy to prevent juvenile delinquency through interactive and engaging legal counseling. The strategies implemented include digital-based educational approaches, such as online and face-to-face workshops with analysis of actual legal cases, role-playing simulations, and the creation of educational content on Instagram and TikTok. The problem-solving method is carried out through preparation (identifying the risk of delinquency), implementation (counseling to high school/vocational school students), and evaluation (pre-post tests and questionnaires). The findings show a significant increase in understanding of digital legal literacy, a reduction in the intention to engage in digital delinquency, and the ability of participants to create independent educational content. The conclusion of this activity is that the integration of digital legal literacy with familiar social media has proven effective in preventing juvenile delinquency and is worthy of widespread replication.

Abstract

The phenomenon of juvenile delinquency is increasingly alarming, as reflected in various forms of misconduct ranging from bullying and drug abuse to street crimes. This condition is often caused by limited legal literacy and adolescents’ lack of awareness of the legal consequences of their actions. SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Sleman, as an educational institution, plays a vital role in protecting students from such deviant behavior. The purpose of this community service activity was to improve students’ legal understanding in order to foster law-abiding behavior. The implementation method employed interactive legal counseling, which included lectures, question-and-answer discussions, and case simulations. The effectiveness of the activity was evaluated through the distribution of pre-tests before the material was delivered and post-tests after the activity was completed to measure the increase in participants’ knowledge. The target of this activity consisted of 70 students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Sleman representing each class. The results of the community service activity indicated a significant improvement in the partners’ understanding. Based on the evaluation, there was an 80% increase in the average score of students’ knowledge regarding types of juvenile criminal acts and their legal sanctions compared to before the counseling. The students also showed high enthusiasm and were able to identify actions that violate the law during the discussion sessions. The implications of this activity include the formation of legally aware agents within the school environment, which is expected to minimize the potential for legal violations and create a conducive, safe, and disciplined school environment.
