Abstract

This study aims to enhance the listening comprehension skills of 5-6-year-old children at TK Mutiara Hati Ngantang through the storytelling method using digital storybooks. The research method employed is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the spiral model of Kemmis and McTaggart, consisting of two cycles, each with two meetings. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles & Huberman data analysis model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show a significant improvement in the children’s listening comprehension after the implementation of the digital storybook storytelling method. In the initial observation, only 33.3% of children were categorized as emerging. However, in cycle 1, the first meeting showed a 40% improvement, and the second meeting reached 53.3%. Cycle 2 showed even greater progress, with the first meeting achieving 66.6% and the second meeting reaching 86.6%. These results indicate that the use of digital storybooks effectively helps children comprehend the story content, retell the story in the correct sequence, and follow more complex instructions. In conclusion, the storytelling method using digital storybooks is proven to be an effective tool in improving listening comprehension skills in 5-6-year-old children. The significant improvements in listening comprehension, along with the children’s increased enthusiasm and focus, highlight the potential of digital storybooks as an engaging and interactive learning medium for early childhood education.

Abstract

Problem-solving skills are important for cognitive development in early childhood. At PAUD KB 'Aisyiyah 6 Wagir, many 5-6 year old children rely heavily on teacher guidance and lack initiative. This shows that current learning strategies do not promote independence or critical thinking. Hence, Project-Based Learning is suggested as a way to encourage problem-solving. This study aims to determine the improvement of problem-solving skills in early childhood through the implementation of project-based learning at PAUD KB 'Aisyiyah 6 Wagir. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles. The subjects of the study were 12 children aged 5–6 years enrolled in Group B at PAUD KB 'Aisyiyah 6 Wagir during the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The research instrument used was an observation sheet based on the indicators outlined in the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 146 of 2014, namely: (1) identifying problems, (2) finding alternative solutions, and (3) solving problems independently. The results showed that the average problem-solving ability of the children increased significantly from 57.4% in the pre-cycle, to 71,3% in the first cycle, and reached 97.25% in the second cycle. The implementation of the PjBL model encouraged the children to be more active, independent, creative, and capable of collaborating in solving real problems in their environment. Thus, project-based learning has proven to be effective in gradually and comprehensively enhancing early childhood problem-solving skills.

Abstract

This research aims to examine how natural and social spaces are interpreted and managed by the people of Paniis Village, Kuningan Regency, within the framework of community-based tourism economic development. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research was conducted through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and field documentation. The findings show that the development of village tourism has encouraged significant social transformation, ranging from changes in economic patterns, shifts in social identity, to the emergence of new forms of community collaboration. The utilisation of potential natural spaces such as waterfalls and mountain landscapes not only brings economic benefits, but also forms an arena for social interaction and local cultural expression. However, challenges such as unequal access to benefits, cultural commodification, and ecological pressure are important issues that need to be managed collectively. In conclusion, tourism in Paniis Village is not only an economic practice, but also a space for the production of values, solidarity, and identity that can be a model of community-based sustainable development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategy for strengthening religious studies to enhance the competence of jama’ah at Assalam Mosque, Sukarame District, Bandar Lampung. The mosque plays a vital role not only as a place of worship but also as a center for Islamic community development. In facing modern challenges, strengthening religious studies is essential to equip jama’ah with applicable religious knowledge and attitudes. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, involving interviews, observations, and data analysis from ustadz (religious teachers), mosque administrators, and jama’ah. The findings reveal that the strengthening strategy includes the preparation of relevant and tiered study materials, interactive delivery methods, and the utilization of digital technology to broaden access and increase jama’ah participation. Furthermore, community building through social activities and psychological motivation significantly enhances jama’ah engagement. Indicators of success include improved practical religious understanding, positive behavioral changes, and active participation in religious and social activities. The study concludes that an adaptive and sustainable strategy effectively increases jama’ah competence and strengthens the mosque's role as a center for community development. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for developing religious studies in other mosques with similar characteristics.

Abstract

The ability to write argumentative texts is one of the important competencies that students must master in learning the Indonesian language. Through this skill, students are expected to be able to convey opinions, compose logical arguments, and develop a critical attitude towards various social phenomena in their surroundings. Even so, many students still experience difficulties in organizing coherent writing structures, selecting appropriate supporting data, and concluding ideas convincingly. This situation demands innovative learning models that can develop students' critical thinking skills as well as collaborative skills. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of implementing the Project Based Learning model on the ability to write argumentative texts of eleventh grade students at Koperasi Pontianak Vocational School. The method used is an experiment with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The research sample consists of 28 students selected through simple random sampling technique. The instrument is in the form of argumentative text writing tests given before and after the treatment. The results of the study show an increase in the average score from 53.11 (poor category) in the pretest to 83.57 (good category) in the posttest, with an increase difference of 30.46 points. Thus, PjBL model not only improves learning outcomes quantitatively, but also has a positive impact on students' engagement in the learning process. As such, students become more active in discussions, more critical in organizing arguments, and more skilled in developing logical and convincing written ideas.

Abstract

Early childhood is a crucial stage for shaping foundational character, including listening habits that influence social, emotional, and communication development. In Islamic-based educational settings, listening is viewed not only as a cognitive skill but also as an ethical value rooted in religious teachings, making its cultivation both pedagogical and spiritual. This study aims to develop an integrative model for forming good listener character in early childhood at an Islamic-based kindergarten in Bogor City. Using a qualitative case study, the research found this character formation is not spontaneous, but the outcome of planned, gentle, and meaningful habituation. The “Pillar of Morality” program effectively instilled active listening through songs, games, storytelling, and prayer. This process aligns with Lickona’s three domains including moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral acting—but was expanded in the Islamic context with a fourth domain: spiritual meaning. Thematic analysis produced an integrative model consisting of four character domains (cognitive, affective, behavioral, and spiritual) supported by three main factors: teacher exemplification, routine habituation, and a spiritually enriched environment. This model highlights that character education must operate holistically by integrating role modeling, consistent practice, and spiritual context. The study contributes theoretically to Islamic-based character education and offers practical guidance for fostering a culture of active listening grounded in manners and affection.

Abstract

Permendikdasmen No. 9 of 2025 introduces the Academic Ability Test (TKA) as a new standardization and selection instrument in Indonesia's education landscape. This policy aims to provide standardized academic achievement data for selection purposes (Ministry of Education and Education, 2025). This paper presents a critical pedagogical analysis that argues that, in the context of Vocational High Schools (SMK), TKA policies show significant pedagogical dissonance. Using the theoretical lens of constructivism, differential pedagogy, and authentic evaluation, this analysis shows that TKA is philosophically contrary to the basic principles of vocational education. Instead of answering chronic competency gaps, especially soft skills deficits which is consistently identified by the industrial world, foreign workers are at risk of exacerbating the phenomenon of academic drift (shift of focus to academics). Furthermore, TKA creates assessment redundancy (overlapping with ANBK) and paradoxically devalues the significance of performance-based assessments of the Expertise Competency Test/UKK which should be the heart of vocational education. This paper recommends radical differentiation or exclusion of foreign workers for vocational schools, as well as the strengthening of UKK as a 'golden standard' for national vocational assessments that are in line with international best practices.

Abstract

Stress is a psychological and physiological condition experienced by individuals in response to stressors that are perceived as threatening, overwhelming, or exceeding personal coping abilities. In the school environment, stress frequently manifests as academic stress, which is commonly experienced by students in the adolescent age range of 15-18 years. Academic stress may arise from academic demands, pressure to achieve, evaluation systems, and interpersonal relationships at school. If not properly managed, academic stress can result in decreased academic performance, emotional imbalance, maladaptive behavior, and even hinder students’ future development. One effort that can be implemented to help reduce academic stress is cognitive therapy, including Butterfly Hug therapy, which is designed to facilitate relaxation, increase emotional regulation, and provide a sense of safety through independent practice. This study aims to describe the need for developing an innovative guidance media flipbook titled “Butterfly Hug” as a strategy to overcome academic stress among students at SMKN 4 Makassar. The research employed a research and development (R&D) approach. The results of the study show that the development of the flipbook media is strongly aligned with the needs of students and guidance and counseling teachers. The media is perceived as interesting, practical, and relevant to students’ psychological conditions. Furthermore, it has the potential to become an effective intervention tool in helping students recognize symptoms of academic stress, regulate emotions, and apply appropriate coping strategies.
