Abstract

Walking is one of the modes of transportation that can connect people from one place to another. Thus, it can be seen that walking is a mode of transportation that can connect human movement tomove from one place to another, especially in activity centers in urban areas in order to avoid trafficjams. Walking activities in activity centers in urban areas need to have the characteristics of aWalkable City. Walkable City is a city where residents in the city prefer to walk as the main mode oftransportation they use, for reasons of health, leisure, and improving the characteristics of the city inthe walkability index level. Based on this, it is necessary to know the value of the walkability index ofthe Pasar Pagi area of Samarinda City which is an area designated for trade and services with variouskinds of activities. The walkability index assessment is done by calculating the performance on eachwalkability index variable using a Likert Scale. The result is that based on the average value of thewalkability index of each road corridor, the walkability index value of the Morning Market Area is 36out of a maximum score of 100. This value means that the Morning Market Area is included in theNot Walkable category.

Abstract

Poverty is one of the obstacles to the difficulty of the country development. Poverty causes adecrease of human resources quality, inability to access education, health, good nutrition whichresults in productivity degradation. The purpose of this study are to analyze the pattern of spatialpoverty all regencies in Indonesia using the Moran’s Index and looks at the local spatial distributionof poverty using the Local Indicator of Spatial Autocorrelation (LISA) approach. This study uses thedata period in 2019. The results of this study show that pockets of poverty in Indonesia are mostlylocated in the provinces of Papua, West Papua and East Nusa Tenggara. The regencies with thelowest poverty are found in the regencies of Bali and South Kalimantan Provinces. Moran's Testshowed a positive autocorrelation of 0.474259 which indicates a general spatial autocorrelationacross all regency in Indonesia with a clusted pattern. The LISA test showed poverty level of thepopulation was clustered into four groups, namely: 50 regencies that were in the high povertyregencies surrounded by high poverty (high-high), 69 regencies in low poverty criteria surroundedby low poverty regencies (low-low), 12 regencies in the low poverty, surrounded by high poverty(low-high) and 5 high poverty regencies surrounded by low poverty (high-low). Thus, this studyproves that poverty reduction must be based on the uniqueness and characteristics of each region.

Abstract

In 2019, Indonesia was experiencing a housing backlog of around 7.6 million housing that must bemet by providing new houses. Therefore there was a policy to overcome it through “one millionhousing” program. Salatiga City is one of the cities in Indonesia as a pilot project which hasconstructed provision of low-cost housing. While the current problem condition that happens is somefacilities and infrastructure were unconstructed yet. Low-cost housing provision is just focused onhousing units neglecting housing facilities and infrastructure that provided services for residents inpost-occupancy. This research aims to assess the performance of residential housing and examinethe gap factors influencing sustainability from a post-occupancy evaluation (POE) of low-cost housingprojects. This research was conducted by assessing performance factors influencing sustainabilityby POE to value the quality of the residential environment. The result showed that factors includingutility conditions; safety comfortability; social interactions; and access to workplace have goodperformance. While other factors have not met the score for good performance. This research hasknown that low-cost housing for civil servants can be said as unsustainable. The environmentalaspect had an important role in the sustainability of low-cost housing. Building unit condition, infrastructure and neighborhood facility are factors with a big importance in influencing sustainabilityof environmental aspect. Therefore, these factors need to get the main attention in the government’snext low-cost housing development projects in supporting one million housing program policy.

Abstract

An urban mining proposal has been made that offers a lithium battery waste managementsolution. This is motivated by the absence of a waste management system that specificallyhandles lithium batteries. The research was conducted quantitatively for electrochemicaldischarge experiments and qualitatively for data collection, processing and formulation of urbanmining proposals. From the experimental results, it was found that 5% NaCl is the optimumconcentration for electrochemical discharge. Obstacles are still found based on qualitativeanalysis of waste management data in Indonesia, especially for lithium battery waste. The scopeof the proposed urban mining system includes the people as the user and the temporarycollectors. Hopefully this urban mining design is beneficial for an effective and environmentallyfriendly lithium battery waste management plan.

Abstract

Development is basically from and for all people, it must involve and be recognized at all levels ofsociety in order to achieve the intended development goals. The usage of the Rupat Island center asa historical tour in Bengkalis regency is an example of eco-education, in which cultural heritage itempreservation is linked to educational renewal. This is a qualitative research project that usesparticipant observation and in-depth interviews. The findings suggest that regional growth on RupatIsland can be accomplished by leveraging a variety of factors, including districts, suburbs, landmarks, nodes, and paths that require government authorization in the Malacca area. If access to touristlocations is made easier, the development of Rupat Island as a cultural tourism destination has a lotof potential and appeal for regional cultural tourism destinations.

Abstract

Surabaya City is the National Activity Center in East Java which has a heterogeneous function andserves as the center of orientation for the activities of residents living in the surrounding area. Everyday many commuters are active in Surabaya City. The highest number of commuters came fromSidoarjo Regency with 169.560 people or 40% of the total 423.109 people. However, of the totalcommuters, only 1.246 people, or 0,7% of the 169.560 commuters rely on the commuter line, whilethe number of private vehicle users is 159.190 people. This causes congestion with the movementpattern of private vehicles in the Sidoarjo region to Surabaya with a volume of 3.491 pcu/hour withan LOS of 0,90 to 1,58. One of the government's efforts to reduce the use of private vehicles is toprovide mass transportation in the form of commuter lines. This study aims to evaluate the operationalperformance and service of the commuter line Surabaya-Pasuruan route to determine which aspectsneed to be prioritized to serve optimally. The data obtained through observation and questionnaireswere reviewed using operational performance analysis (load factor, headway, travel time, waitingtime), IPA, and QFD. The results of the operational performance analysis showed various problems, namely the load factor exceeding the 60% standard carrying capacity due to Covid-19 adaptation andwaiting time exceeding the maximum standard of 20 minutes. The priority of technical responsedirectives is obtained in improving operational and service performance, namely the periodicmaintenance and inspection of railway facilities.

Abstract

The increasing development of tourism activities and the increasing number of tourists in the Ubud Tourism area have resulted in various problems that have an impact on the poor quality ofthe environment in the Ubud Tourism Area. The most crucial problem is congestion caused by various things, and other problems are the condition of infrastructure and utility networks, cleanliness of the area, and limited public green open space. The purpose of this research is to formulate arecommendation concept for structuring the Ubud Tourism Area which can comprehensively be a guide in solving the problem of poor environmental quality, especially in dealing with the adaptation of new habits (new normal) after the Covid-19 pandemic. This study uses a mixedmethod with a descriptive-qualitative analysis method based on policies and relateddocuments. The results obtained from this study are planning for infrastructure arrangement in the Ubud Tourism Area: structuring traffic flow and construction of new roads (ring roads and shortcuts),building parking facilities and the shuttle bus concept, structuring the integrated JalanRaya Ubud, structuring roadside gardens as a public green open space, and the application of the CHSEprotocol concept in the arrangement of the Ubud Tourism Area in adapting new habitsafter theCovid-19 pandemic.
