Abstract

The city of Surakarta is rapidly developing towards metropolitan, driving the formation of travel patterns to and from Surakarta where the station points become one of the main points. The role of Solo Balapan Station as the core transportation hub connecting Surakarta's internal and external areas has necessitated the design of an integrated transportation system with urban hubs or centers. Transit Oriented Development becomes an alternative concept designed to organize and develop activity centers in an area with land use variations integrated with urban transportation systems. Although some efforts have been shown as a seriousness of the government, it is not yet known for certain whether the characteristics of the supporting areas in the research area are ready to support the development of areas based on the TOD concept. This research is conducted in order to assess the extent to which the characteristics of supporting areas within an 800-meter radius around Solo Balapan Station support the development of the TOD concept. This research uses quantitative descriptive analysis through scoring analysis. The results show that the supporting area around Solo Balapan is not ready to support the development of the area with the Transit Oriented Development concept.

Abstract

Abstract

Economy is one of the indicators that signifies the development of a district/city. Regional economic analysis at the district/city level in NTT province differs in terms of planning and administrative scope. Income becomes the focus of research, and the results will serve as a guide for strategic development. The society remains a focus in developing a market that can contribute to their income. The methods used are quantitative and qualitative, with specific analysis results and findings that help identify the factors influencing market development. Various changes in the analysis findings can serve as measures of economic growth. Economic development in the NTT region does not only on the districts/cities within it. But also show interest to national economic development. Therefore, the expected analysis results are not limited to the provincial scope but are relevant to national data. Through cluster analysis, location quotient, and multiplier effect on 22 regencies/cities, we will examine groups, economic bases, and potential for economic development. The results of the regional economic analysis that influences the direction of economic development in districts/cities in East Nusa Tenggara will help provide an overview related to economic planning. Emphasis on enhancing economic growth for the economy and its potential sectors at the district/city level as well as in broader regions is needed through the roles of various stakeholders.

Abstract

The tradition of batik making that grows in villages has given rise to the phenomenon of batik villages. Kampung Batik Laweyan is one of the batik centers in Surakarta City that has existed since 1546. Starting from the understanding that the cluster approach is a solution to increase the competitiveness of the batik creative industry, by taking the study location in Kampung Batik Laweyan, this study aims to determine the suitability of Kampung Batik Laweyan as a creative cluster industry. This research was conducted using quantitative methods, by using scoring analysis techniques. Data were collected through field observations, interviews, and questionnaires. The results of the study showed that Kampung Batik Laweyan has a score of 1 and is classified as quite suitable as a creative cluster industry. The strength of Kampung Batik Laweyan is in the inter-industry linkages and cooperation with external institutions. Meanwhile, the factor that needs to be improved is internal cooperation between batik industries. Based on these findings, it is hoped that closer cooperation can be established between batik industries in Kampung Batik Laweyan, which can be initiated by the community or city government.

Abstract

This study analyzes the slum level in Kapuk Subdistrict, West Jakarta, using indicators from the Ministry of Public Works Regulation No. 14 of 2018. Kapuk faces challenges such as high population density, inadequate infrastructure, and limited access to basic facilities. Data collection methods included field observations, questionnaires, interviews, and literature studies. Slum scores were calculated based on indicators such as building conditions, roads, drinking water, drainage, waste management, and fire protection. The results show that most areas are categorized as mildly slum, with only one area (RW 07) classified as moderately slum. Major issues include narrow roads, poor drainage, and limited access to clean water. This study recommends infrastructure interventions, sanitation improvements, and enhanced social facilities to prevent further slum deterioration. These findings aim to guide priorities for slum settlement management planning.

Abstract

Climate change significantly impacts coastal areas, including Bandar Lampung City, which has experienced rising temperatures, decreasing rainfall, and more frequent tidal flooding. This study aims to analyze the forms of adaptation undertaken by coastal communities in response to climate change symptoms and to evaluate their level of understanding and adaptive responses. A mixed-methods approach with a deductive framework was used, involving primary data collection through questionnaires and interviews, as well as secondary data from literature and institutional documents. The results show that while most residents understand the symptoms of climate change, only a small portion have implemented appropriate adaptation measures. These include energy conservation, drainage improvement, stilt house construction, and mangrove preservation. A gap exists between knowledge and action, influenced by social perceptions, education level, and government support. The findings underscore the importance of strengthening community-based adaptive capacity and integrating spatial risk data such as InaRISK into local climate resilience strategies.

Abstract

Livability is the comfort of residing in an environment (Lynch, 1998) and reflects the quality of life in settlements. Areas around the Putri Cempo Landfill, though violating PUPR Ministerial Regulation No.3/2013 and facing environmental and health issues, remain a livelihood source for low-income migrants. This study analyzes the suitability of the Livability concept based on seven components (economy, health, environment, infrastructure, safety, community participation, and building conditions) using a quantitative descriptive method through field observations, questionnaires (100 respondents), and weighting analysis. Results show a Livability score of 74.42 (moderately suitable), with optimal achievements in safety (97.5), building conditions (96.5), and health (95), but low scores in environmental quality (20.75) due to air pollution and limited community participation (36.5). Most residents rely on the informal sector (62%) with incomes ≥IDR 2.5 million/month (72%), while basic infrastructure is adequate except for GOS (12%). Although 95% of respondents reported no severe health issues, environmental risks persist. The conclusion emphasizes the need for integrated interventions to improve air quality, expand public spaces, and strengthen community participation to achieve sustainable settlements aligned with Livability principles.

Abstract

Green Open Space (GOS) plays an important role in the sustainability of urban environments. Bungkul Park, Surabaya, as one of the GOS icons, faces challenges from informal economic activities, especially street vendors (PKL). This study aims to analyze the strategy for arranging street vendors in Bungkul Park with a focus on the balance of ecological, aesthetic, and social functions of GOS. Qualitative descriptive methods are used to evaluate the distribution patterns of street vendors, location selection factors, and implementation of local policies. The results show that the success of the arrangement depends on location accessibility, visibility, and stakeholder involvement. Optimal arrangement requires an integrated approach between policy and community needs.
