Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between financial management and investment decisions among students. Data were collected from one hundred active students who were randomly selected using a descriptive quantitative approach and a standard questionnaire. The factors studied include students' preferences for investment instruments, such as savings, deposits, mutual funds, and other financial assets, as well as financial management techniques, such as planning, control, and personal financial recording. The purpose of this research is to determine how financial management techniques influence students' decisions regarding various investment instruments. The results show that there is a strong correlation between students' investment decisions and their capacity in financial management. Although students with less developed financial management understanding prefer more conventional or common choices such as savings, students with proficient financial management skills usually have habits of diversifying investments or selecting several investment instruments and choosing instruments with low risk. The findings of this study provide an overview of the importance of financial behavior among students and serve as a basis for the development of more effective financial literacy programs.

Abstract

Modern markets in various regions often create challenges for traditional markets, including in the Lembang area. This study aims to examine the influence of Modern Market Lembang on the dynamics of traditional markets. Using a quantitative approach supported by a structured survey distributed to local residents and market participants, this study found that Modern Market Lembang exerts a moderate influence on the sustainability of traditional markets. Although modern markets are preferred for their convenience, product quality, standardized pricing, and attractive promotional strategies, traditional markets continue to hold significance within the community due to their warm social interactions, price flexibility, personalized service, and strong consumer loyalty. Furthermore, the research identifies key factors influencing consumer behavior shifts, including perceived value, accessibility, and cultural attachment to traditional shopping experiences. The findings suggest that rather than being purely competitive, modern and traditional markets have the potential to complement each other by offering diversified shopping experiences that cater to different consumer needs. Strategic initiatives such as service innovation, infrastructure improvement, and collaborative promotional efforts are critical for enhancing the competitiveness of traditional markets. In conclusion, strengthening the synergy between modern and traditional markets is essential for ensuring balanced market dynamics, preserving local cultural identity, and fostering sustainable economic growth in the Lembang region.

This research examines the implementation of the Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR) program, launched by the government to encourage banks to provide financing to MSMEs. The program involves the Cooperatives, Micro, and Manpower Office (Diskopumker) as facilitators, with government-backed guarantees in collaboration with eight distribution banks.
