Abstract

The rapid growth of motorized vehicles in urban areas poses significant challenges to transportation safety and the overall comfort of public mobility. Makassar City, as one of Indonesia’s major metropolitan areas, faces an increasing risk of traffic accidents due to road congestion, unsafe user behavior, and limited pedestrian- and cyclist-friendly infrastructure. This community service program aims to enhance public awareness and understanding of transportation safety principles through participatory community-based socialization. The implementation methods include field surveys, development of educational materials, interactive workshops, simulation of proper traffic facility use, and evaluation of participants’ knowledge through pre- and post-tests. The activities were conducted at several strategic locations in Makassar City and involved one hundred participants from diverse backgrounds. The results indicate a significant improvement in participants’ knowledge and safe behavior, both as drivers and pedestrians, after attending the program. The community showed greater awareness of using pedestrian crossings, safety equipment, and traffic ethics. This initiative has proven effective in fostering a culture of safety in urban environments and represents an important step toward achieving a safer, more inclusive, and mobility-friendly city for all road users.

Abstract

Cyberbullying is a form of digital violence that has become increasingly prevalent among students along with the high intensity of social media use, which is not yet balanced by adequate ethical awareness, legal literacy, and internalization of moral values. This condition highlights the need for preventive efforts through a comprehensive educational approach. This Community Service activity aims to enhance students’ understanding and awareness of cyberbullying prevention by integrating a positive legal approach and Islamic values. The method employed was a one-cycle participatory educational intervention design involving 30 students of SMK Ma’arif Sukaslamet, Indramayu Regency, implemented through three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The educational materials covered the concept and forms of cyberbullying, its psychosocial impacts, the provisions of Article 27A of Law Number 1 of 2024 on Electronic Information and Transactions, and the interpretation of Qur’an Surah Al-Hujurat verse 11 as an ethical foundation for social media use. The results indicate an improvement in participants’ understanding, as reflected in their ability to identify cyberbullying behaviors, explain their legal consequences, and relate social media practices to Islamic ethical values. These findings suggest that an educational approach integrating positive law and Islamic teachings contributes positively to fostering more ethical, responsible, and respectful digital behavior among students.

Abstract

Small-scale mining in Juriya Village has long been the main source of income for the community. However, the traditional mining methods used still disregard the principles of good environmental management, resulting in environmental pollution, particularly tailings waste that has contaminated nearby rivers. Survey results at the mining site show that several mining drums are not equipped with tailings settling ponds that meet standards, resulting in tailings waste seeping into river flows. To address this issue, community service activities were carried out with the aim of increasing the understanding and awareness of the community and miners regarding the impact of tailings pollution and the importance of responsible waste management. These activities included socialization, education, and training on the construction of tailings settling ponds. The results of these activities showed an 88% increase in community understanding of the environmental hazards of tailings, as well as increased community knowledge about the process of constructing compartmentalized tailings settling ponds. This demonstrates the important role of socialization, education, and training in effective tailings waste management efforts.

Abstract

The low use of digital technology by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) based on local potential is still an obstacle in increasing competitiveness and business sustainability in the midst of digital economy transformation. This condition is also experienced by MSMEs in Cimpiga Village, Camba District, Maros Regency, most of which are still managed conventionally with limited market reach. This Community Service activity aims to increase digital literacy and entrepreneurial capacity of MSMEs through the implementation of entrepreneurial digitalization. A participatory approach is used to encourage active involvement of partners in the learning process and application of digital technology. The results of the activity showed an increase in the understanding, digital skills, and marketing capabilities of MSMEs, followed by a change in business patterns towards a more adaptive use of digital media. These findings show that entrepreneurship digitalization is effective as a strategy for empowering MSMEs based on local potential and contributes to increasing competitiveness and readiness of business actors in facing the dynamics of the digital economy in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Vocational High School (SMK) graduates in Indonesia experience persistently high unemployment, partly because many students’ competencies remain oriented toward formal employment rather than business creation. Preliminary interviews at SMK Saraswati 1 Denpasar indicated that among 51 grade-12 students enrolled in the entrepreneurship subject, only five reported owning or intending to start a business after graduation. This community service program aimed to strengthen students’ technopreneurship understanding and their ability to produce a structured business plan using the Business Model Canvas (BMC), supported by Generative AI (ChatGPT). The intervention was delivered in a 2-hour workshop consisting of: (1) a 30-minute session on entrepreneurship and technopreneurship concepts, (2) a 50-minute step-by-step BMC development integrated with ChatGPT and guided by the speaker with facilitator mentoring and observation, and (3) a 40-minute group presentation with feedback. Outcomes were assessed using a descriptive evaluation framework (pre–post concept quiz, BMC rubric, and structured observations). Before the program, all students recognized the term “entrepreneur,” but only 3.92% demonstrated adequate understanding of “technopreneurship”; after the workshop, 100% of participants could define both concepts, explain differences, and provide examples. All groups completed the nine BMC blocks (100%), with 80% of group outputs reflecting technopreneurship-based business ideas. Rubric review identified recurring weaknesses in articulating value propositions (30%) and distinguishing customer relationships from channels (40%). Overall, integrating BMC practice with AI-assisted ideation provides a practical and replicable approach to improve structured business thinking and digital literacy among SMK students.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Ketapang District, Tangerang City, still face limitations in utilizing digital marketing and adopting environmentally friendly packaging, which impacts their business competitiveness. This community service program aims to increase MSMEs' understanding, awareness, and interest in business digitalization and sustainable packaging innovation. This activity was carried out through educational seminars and interactive discussions involving 20 MSMEs from the culinary, handicraft, and service sectors. Evaluation was conducted using pre- and post-activity questionnaires to measure changes in participants' understanding and interest. Results showed an increase in participants' understanding of business digitalization from 30% to 85%, an increase in the use of social media for promotion from 20% to 45%, and an increase in interest in adopting environmentally friendly packaging from 15% to 70%. In addition, collaborative initiatives among MSMEs increased from 10% to 40%. However, direct implementation of these practices remains hampered by limited technical skills and access to supporting resources. These findings suggest that a participatory education approach is effective as a first step in strengthening the capacity of MSMEs and should be followed by ongoing technical assistance to ensure a sustainable impact.

Abstract

Suboptimal waste management in Bangunharjo Village has led to environmental degradation and a decline in community quality of life. In response to this condition, a community service program was implemented through mentoring activities and the initiation of a community-based waste bank adopting a socioenvipreneur approach. The program involved members of the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) group from 24 neighborhood units (RT) and was carried out using a Participatory Learning and Action method that emphasized active community engagement throughout all stages of the program. Program success indicators included the establishment of waste bank management structures at the neighborhood level with a minimum participation target of 50% of RTs, the completeness of administrative records and activity reports, and the achievement of sustainable operational margins. Implementation over a six-month period, from May to October, demonstrated that the application of direct financial incentive and sanction mechanisms was more effective in maintaining stable and consistent community participation than the waste donation model. The average waste sales revenue generated per neighborhood unit ranged from IDR 1,500,000 to IDR 2,000,000. The socioenvipreneur-based waste bank approach demonstrates its feasibility as a community empowerment strategy that integrates social, environmental, and economic dimensions.

Abstract

The development of a green economy in rural areas requires active community participation, particularly from women’s groups, supported by digital transformation and environmentally friendly technology. However, the Women’s Welfare Movement Group (PKK) of Lebak Village, Jepara Regency, faces several challenges, including reliance on conventional agricultural practices, low digital literacy, and the absence of online media for promoting local agricultural products. Therefore, this community service program aimed to empower PKK members through the application of aquaponic technology and the utilization of the Wonderful Taman Sari (WoTaS) digital application to enhance productivity and support sustainable economic practices. The program employed a participatory–educative approach implemented in five stages: socialization, aquaponic technology training, WoTaS application training, intensive mentoring, and evaluation. The results demonstrated a substantial improvement in participants’ knowledge and skills, with an average achievement rate of 91.9%. All participants (100%) were able to operate a simple aquaponic system, while 80% successfully used the WoTaS application independently to promote local products. In conclusion, this program effectively increased community productivity and digital literacy while strengthening the role of rural women in supporting a sustainable green economy.

Abstract

Low Islamic financial literacy and weak household financial management remain critical challenges among women members of Majlis Taklim, despite their strategic role in family financial decision making. This community service aims to develop and implement a community-based model of Islamic financial literacy integrated with Sufism values to strengthen sakinah family economic resilience. Using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the program engaged women from Majlis Taklim in Tasikmalaya through baseline assessment, participatory training, mentoring, and evaluation. The intervention integrated practical financial skills with internalized Sufism values as behavioral change mechanisms. The results show a significant increase in Islamic financial literacy, budgeting practices, financial record-keeping, emergency savings awareness, and the use of Islamic financial products, accompanied by improved financial attitudes characterized by self-control and orientation toward barakah. This program demonstrates that Majlis Taklim can function as an effective institutional platform for sustainable and replicable Islamic financial literacy empowerment at the community level.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (PKM) conducted at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Palembang was designed to enhance students’ green finance literacy as part of efforts to strengthen environmentally responsible financial behavior in the school setting. The program implemented several learning activities, including seminars on green finance concepts, training on sustainable financial management, and project-based assignments in which students designed simple green finance initiatives relevant to their vocational fields. A total of 35 students from grades X and XI participated under the guidance of supervising teachers. The results of the program show a marked improvement in students’ knowledge. The average pre-test score of 69.73 increased to an average post-test score of 99.46. This improvement indicates that the learning activities effectively strengthened students’ understanding of green finance. In addition to the quantitative gains, students also produced creative and practical ideas for integrating green finance principles into daily school practices. This PKM contributes to the development of a practical and replicable model for integrating green financial literacy into vocational education. It is expected that the approach used in this program can serve as a sustainable learning model that supports the promotion of green finance awareness and environmentally conscious behavior among vocational school students.
