Abstract

Focus is a crucial skill in early childhood that influences children’s cognitive, social, and emotional development. However, many children at this stage struggle to maintain attention for an extended period. This study aims to develop and examine the effectiveness of the ball track game as a medium to improve focus in early childhood. The research employed a research and development method using the ADDIE model, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The subjects were young children participating in a limited trial, while the instruments consisted of expert validation sheets and behavioral observations. The findings indicate that the ball track game is feasible as a learning medium and provides positive impacts on children’s focus, motor coordination, and problem-solving skills. This medium integrates play and learning in an engaging way, making children more enthusiastic and motivated. Therefore, the ball track game can serve as an innovative alternative in early childhood education to support the development of concentration from an early age.

Abstract

This study synthesizes the role of instructional scaffolding in enhancing learner autonomy grounded in pragmatic educational philosophy through a Systematic Literature Review. It examines scaffolding characteristics, models, and mechanisms; the conceptualization and operationalization of learner autonomy; and the integration of pragmatic educational principles in existing scholarship. Following the PRISMA 2020 framework, the review draws primarily on Scopus (2015–2025) and one additional source, yielding 31 studies analyzed through thematic-comparative synthesis. Findings show that scaffolding is commonly implemented through modeling, guided practice, structured reflection, cognitive load management, and the gradual release of support. Learner autonomy is operationalized through indicators such as self-regulation, metacognition, intrinsic motivation, self-efficacy, and learning responsibility. Pragmatic principles, particularly experiential learning, contextual adaptation, and reflective practice, consistently emerge across studies. The review concludes that instructional scaffolding serves as a strategic mediating mechanism in fostering the transition from dependence to autonomous learning within an integrated conceptual framework.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of exploring the function of criteria as a reference in the learning process in educational institutions. The approach used in this study was qualitative with a literature review. Data were collected through an analysis of ten references consisting of seven scientific journals and three books related to curriculum studies. Data collection techniques were carried out through documentation, while data analysis was carried out using the content analysis method, which includes the steps of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The findings of this study indicate that the curriculum serves as the primary reference that directs educational objectives, material selection, teaching methods, and assessment of learning outcomes in an integrated education system. However, its implementation still faces various challenges, such as limited teacher capabilities, minimal facilities and resources, and the curriculum's inconsistency with students' needs. Therefore, the success of curriculum implementation depends heavily on the readiness of educators, the availability of adequate facilities, and continuous evaluation.

Abstract

This study examines morphopragmatic interference arising from the interaction of the Nias language, Indonesian, and slang among students at SMP Negeri 1 Lahewa. It focuses on identifying patterns of morphological and pragmatic interference and applies a Deep Learning approach to map linguistic features in students’ language use. A descriptive qualitative method was employed. Data were collected from students’ spoken utterances and written texts derived from school assignments and communication media. The data were manually labeled to identify morphological and pragmatic elements, then analyzed using Deep Learning models to detect patterns of language interference. The findings reveal multiple forms of interference. Morphological interference appears in the use of Nias affixes within Indonesian and slang vocabulary, while pragmatic interference is reflected in shifts in speech functions influenced by students’ sociocultural backgrounds. The study concludes that such interference represents students’ social identities and highlights the need for pedagogical attention in Indonesian language instruction.

Abstract

Early childhood socio-emotional behavior plays a crucial role in children's overall development. This study aims to describe the process of controlling socio-emotional behavior in early childhood and the forms of collaboration between teachers and parents at TKK Bunda Pengantara Rahmat Ngedukelu. A descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach was employed, and data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the management of children's socio-emotional behavior is carried out through synergistic collaboration between teachers who apply cognitive functions (emotional literacy) and parents who apply affective functions (emotional reassurance and affection). This collaboration is realized through routine communication during school drop-off and pick-up, the alignment of rules between school and home to prevent value confusion, and periodic meetings as a structured monitoring system. These interventions have proven effective in transforming children's negative behaviors into positive socio-emotional competencies. This study contributes practical strategies for school-family collaboration in early childhood education, while also raising awareness of the vital role of parents as children's primary emotional support figures.
