Jurnal AbdiMU (Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat) adalah jurnal berskala nasional yang memuat berbagai penelitian dalam bentuk pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh setiap civitas akademika ataupun pihak-pihak yang berkentingan sebagai salah satu wujud Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi. Abstract

The utilization of local food resources to enhance national food security has become a primary focus in addressing global challenges such as climate change and international market fluctuations. This outreach activity focuses on the production of tomato dodol in Margaluyu Village, Pangalengan District, Bandung Regency, as a solution to strengthen national food security. Tomato dodol was chosen due to the abundant and nutritionally valuable local tomatoes, which can be processed into healthy and nutritious food products. The goal of this activity is to introduce tomato dodol as a beneficial alternative to broaden the choices of nutritious food consumption while supporting public health. Utilizing a (Community Based Participatory Research) CBPR approach, the activity ensures active community involvement at every stage, improving production and marketing skills. The evaluation and sustainability of the program support local economic development and public health in a sustainable manner. The outcomes of this activity include increased community knowledge about the benefits of tomato dodol, reduced reliance on food imports, and contributions to strengthening national food security through the optimal use of local resources.

Abstract

This socialization activity is based on children who are cared for and live with grandmothers so that it affects the development of children's personality and character. The parenting style applied by grandmothers is different from the parenting style applied by their parents. This has a significant effect on the formation of children's personality and character. The purpose of this community service program is to provide understanding to parents and grandmothers about the importance of parenting in the formation of happy and confident children's characters in Cisitu Village. The method in this service activity is to use PAR (Participatory Action Research) which includes the stages of planning, implementation, results and evaluation. The results of the activity have been carried out well, parents gain knowledge on how to provide positive parenting to children and grandchildren because this is an effort to shape the character of children.

Abstract

To prepare the younger generation to face the challenges of the digital era, SMKN 1 Rancaekek took the initiative to organize training on making smart homes for its students. This training was held in response to the need for technological skills which are increasingly important in future life. The training aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the Smart home concept, including the various components used such as sensors, controllers and other smart devices. The material delivery technique uses the PAR (Participatory Action Research) method. The results of the activity show that by providing guidance and support to students in designing and building smart home prototypes, students can make smart home technology.

Abstract

This service activity aims to support the implementation of differentiated learning in Margaluyu Village, Pangalengan District, Bandung Regency through the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. This PAR method involves three main stages: problem identification, material delivery, and evaluation. However, there are challenges in the form of the need for further mentoring and additional training. However, there are challenges in the form of the need for further mentoring and additional training. The results of the activity showed that there was active participation of all parties, showing that the PAR method was effective in encouraging sustainable change. For sustainability, continuous training and mentoring as well as collaboration between schools, communities, and educational institutions are needed.

Abstract

Community service (PKM) with the title of Jarimatika Training for Nine Multiplications was motivated by the assumption of some students that mathematics, especially multiplication, is a scary subject because it is difficult to understand. Actually, there are many fun learning methods where students find it easy to understand multiplication. One of them is by using the jarimatika method where the fingers are used as a calculation tool. The purpose of this training is to make multiplication calculations fun, where students learn to count while playing their fingers as if they were playing a game. The target subjects of the PKM activity were fourth grade students at Calengka Elementary School, Bumiwangi Village, Ciparay District, Bandung Regency. The method used was PAR (Participatory Action Research) which was divided into five stages, namely: to know; b. to understand; c. to plan; d. to act; e. to change. The results of the activity showed that through this training, students' ability to perform calculations by multiplying nine became faster and more fun.

Abstract

Margaluyu Village, located in Bandung Regency, is known for processed lemon and tomato products produced by local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Although these products have good potential, MSMEs in this village face various challenges that hinder their competitiveness, especially related to the lack of product diversification and limited human resource (HR) management. This condition affects the quality of products and production processes, which ultimately has an impact on competitiveness in the market. This activity method uses PAR (ParticipacyAction Research) involving MSME actors in Margaluyu Village. Results of the activity show that MSME actors are able to produce processed lemon and tomato products with better quality, both in terms of taste, packaging, and product durability, product diversification, increased product efficiency and are able to compete better in the local market and even open up wider market opportunities thanks to the implementation of more effective marketing strategies.

Abstract

Technological advances have both good and bad impacts. One of the essential skills that must be possessed to achieve long-term financial success is the ability to manage personal finances wisely. Problems that are often faced in daily life, especially in the community in Mekarjaya Village, are difficulties in managing expenses, ignorance in planning a budget, consumptive living habits, lack of understanding of long-term investment and financial planning, accumulated debt problems, as well as lack of access or knowledge about the right financial products, so they are stuck with online loans. The activity method used PAR (Participacy Action Research) is through 3 stages (Planning, Implementation, Results and Evaluation). The results of this service activity include participants being able to understand how to manage finances intelligently and avoid illegal online loans.

Abstract

One of the MSMEs in Cimalaka Village is Ikasari's MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) which are engaged in food processing. In addition, Ikasari's also has private rice fields with abundant crops. The harvest will go through a post-harvest process which will eventually produce rice, and the rest of the rice milling results will become groin rice. The purpose of this activity is to utilize groat rice from rice milling into an economically valuable product for MSME owners in Cimalaka Village. The method used in this activity uses the PAR (Participatory Action Research) approach. The results of this activity have a positive impact and reduce crop waste to be more useful and add profits to Ikasari's MSMEs. The owner has done his own product marketing and sustainable product manufacturing.

Abstract

Perumda Tirta Rangga Subang plays a crucial role in providing clean water to the residents of Subang Regency. As the demand for clean water continues to grow, the company must consistently improve its services, both in technical and non-technical aspects. Interpersonal communication is a key element in establishing good relationships between the company and its internal and external public. This community service activity aims to enhance the public relations skills of Perumda Tirta Rangga Subang's employees, with a focus on interpersonal communication, which is expected to improve communication effectiveness and employee professionalism. This activity uses the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, which involves as many as 122 participants, including employees and management of Perumda Tirta Rangga Subang. The results of this community service activity indicate an improvement in the interpersonal communication skills of Perumda Tirta Rangga Subang's employees, positively impacting service quality, public relations, and conflict management effectiveness. Additionally, this activity has also led to increased employee professionalism, confidence, and work efficiency, contributing to the achievement of the organization's goals. Other positive outcomes include enhanced company reputation and customer satisfaction.

Abstract

The digital era has brought fundamental changes in the management, storage, and transmission of data and information across various sectors, including government, industry, education, and daily life. The rapid development of information technology, such as cloud computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), and big data has enhanced efficiency and ease in data processing. However, on the other hand, this progress also opens gaps to various security threats that are becoming increasingly complex and sophisticated. Cyber attacks such as hacking, data theft, DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks, phishing, malware, and ransomware have become a serious challenge in maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and information. This research aims to provide comprehensive knowledge about various aspects of data and information security in the digital era, including protection techniques used to secure data from both internal and external threats. This activity uses the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, which was conducted in MA Cimalaka, Sumedang Regency. The results indicate that participants have understood the importance of data security in facing various challenges in the digital era.
