Abstract

Kaizen or continuous improvement is an integral part of the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM). Kaizen is a continuous improvement and has the goal of increasing work safety, quality, productivity and costs. Kaizen can improve product efficiency and quality. This study aims to show the effective application of seven tools as a quality. This study aims to show the effective application of seven tools as a quality management tool to reduce color defects in the process of coloring and compounding the plastic pellets. Where the seven tools approach plays an important role as quality management tools in the kaizen process in the company. The case study was carried out by a plastic seed coloring and compounding company located in Bekasi. The high rework process and the cost of color correction due to color out defects are considered to be one of the causes of reduced company profits. Based on data processing using the seven tools approach and the improvements made, there were significant savings.

Abstract

Spare parts components are important to be managed properly, if the availability of spare parts is not considered it can cause production machines to stop operating. This is a consideration by the company to manage spare parts that can be controlled properly. The large number of machine components that vary with different types and types of machines causes the spare part controller to be able to arrange, give names, signs and labels, and store them to make it easier to search for these parts when needed for the process of replacing damaged parts. The parts availability management system requires data needs based on the type & type of machine, uniformity in mentioning the names of parts, functions and forms. Before the implementation of the parts keeper management system, it takes 35 minutes to find and get the parts needed. By applying the VESO and ROCEM classification methods, it can help in grouping, storing, and assisting in making component naming standards and determining how many parts are needed on an ROP basis. This system can help the search time for machining parts to be 16 minutes so that there is a reduction in service time in the need for these parts by 54% faster than the system before spare part management was carried out.

Abstract

Currently minimizing the level of product defects is the target of all manufacturing production lines, including automotive battery production processes. The purpose of this study was to reduce the level of dominant defects especially in the battery assembly process with Kaizen approach through 8 PDCA cycles. The implementation of Kaizen involves all parties in the company, both management and employees to obtain optimal results. The 8 cycles conducted in Kaizen implementation include Theme Determination, Target Determination, Current Situation Analysis and Cause Analysis, Cause Problem Analysis, Improvement Plan, Improvement Implementation, Result Evaluation, and Standardization. From the implementation results before Kaizen is used the defect rate in the automotive battery production process is 0.548% with the largest type of defect being the plate scrap in the battery assembly process. The implementation of Kaizen through 8 cycles of PDCA conducted for 6 months successfully reduced the defect rate by 20% to be able to meet the company's scrap target and means with continuous improvement it is able to reduce scrap plate in line with the target and from this result many benefits obtained by the company directly and indirectly.indirectly.

Abstract

ISO is an international standard organization that is implemented in almost all institutions/organizations/companies, both for profit and non-profit organizations. In manufacturing companies and ISO services are one of the customer requirements. In doing work, ISO 9001 becomes a guide in carrying out all activities. Every activity that is carried out is based on procedures that have been made and standardized. To monitor the implementation of ISO 9001, internal and external audits are required. In an audit, if the activity is carried out not according to the procedure, there is a deviation/non-conformance and becomes a finding. The results of an internal audit at a company that implemented ISO 9001 2008 showed a decrease in percentage when compared to the previous period in four departments. Meanwhile, the results of the external audit/certification body found four findings in three departments, namely the control clause and the improvement clause. The final results of internal and external audits with several types of clauses can be concluded that the discrepancies found during the audit of the implementation of the ISO 9001 quality management system have not fully run according to the standards. The procedures that have been established have not been consistently carried out, control and responsibility weak handling.

Abstract

Quality is the most important factor for a product. The failure rate in the production process that is not in accordance with predetermined standards is a measure of the quality and effectiveness of production. Likewise for the production of UMKM Bagus Bakery which has a production failure rate or NG product of 184 of the total production of 4610 pieces or 3.99%. Based on fishbone diagram analysis, the causes of production process failure are material composition, unsanitary environment, oil temperature. The test results based on the seven tools method of overcoming bantet bread using fermipan to 10 grams and bread improver 15 grams, cleaning the equipment every time the dough is made, the oil temperature between 165~175 °C produces the smallest production failure value.

Abstract

The development of the retail business in Indonesia has encouraged the rise of modern grocery stores. Competition in this business is intensifying, which prompts every retailer to further improve the systems and technologies used in running their business to improve the value chain. One of them is by applying a clear business process model as a reference in conducting daily business activities. Various business process modeling techniques have been applied in several businesses. One of the modeling techniques that can be used for retail business is the IDEF0 method. The method is capable of identifying the flow and sequence of processes in a retail business. After getting a clear business model, then make the development (become a model) of the existing business model (as is model) to be able to further improve business performance. In this study, the supermarket business process model that has been implemented has been identified, the business model has been developed into a new model for analysis then the comparison between the as is model and the to be model. The goal is to measure the improvement in the performance (value chain) of the development carried out. Research shows the performance of stock on hand (SOH) is increasing and the level of depletion of stock (OOS) is decreasing in supermarkets.

Abstract

The design and development in maintenance systems and machine maintenance in the manufacturing industry is still required to ensure that production processes are not disrupted and hamper established businesses. The maintenance system created and implemented is able to provide an alternative as a treatment that can reduce the cost of using the spars machine and can be an efficient and low cost system. Dandory system provides ready parts when replacing damaged machine components, so that machine repair time is faster in replacement, the use of tools made in replacing machine components can reduce and avoid potential accidents at work, so that the system used can reduce manpower and repair time, the result of design and development of tools as well as the use of dandory system can reduce the MTTR value by 52% and the use of manpower while repairing the engine is 1 man power.

Abstract

Designing a machine maintenance and maintenance system in a company organization is needed to improve the company's ability in business competition in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, the use of IoT (Internet of things), Human Machine Interface (HMI) makes it easier to develop a machine monitoring system, one of which is to carry out the system. Machine Daily Checklist before operating the machine to carry out the production process. Sudden machine failure during the production process is the failure of the operator when doing an initial check of the machine before it is operated, the difficulty of filling the checklist machine when starting the initial check is an opportunity for the development of a method with an error prevention system (Fool Proof System) or previously with the Japanese term Poka Yoke System. The design of the Fool Proof Information System (FPIS) system is a machine checking system that is programmed using a touch screen panel before the operator runs the machine for the production process. The machine component abnormalities before the machine breakdown can be seen by the operator before starting the production process. Autonomous maintenance with FPIS can be done quickly, precisely and accurately so that the machine part life is well maintained and the production process can meet the targets set by the company organization.

Abstract

From the results of observations at petrol station 34–17521 South Tambun, it was found that in a certain period there were queues exceeding the service standard of petrol stations causing customers to leave the queue. This study aims to measure the performance of gas station queues and propose a queuing line system optimization strategy with Multi Channel Single Phase (M/M/S) queuing model. Collect data using in -depth observations and interviews. Queuing data was taken for two weeks during the COVID-19 pandemic, daily from 06.00 to 20.00 WIB. From the results of the study, service optimization strategy is proposed with 3 channels at 17.00 - 18.00 WIB and 2 channels at 06.00 - 07.00, 12.00 - 13.00, 16.00 - 17.00, and 18.00 - 19.00 to reduce the number of queues at 18.00 - 19.00. to achieve gas station performance targets and maintain customer satisfaction.

Abstract

Supplier selection is one of the important things in purchasing activities for a company. The selection of suppliers must be done carefully because the wrong choice of suppliers will cause the production process and operations of the company to be disrupted. One technique that can be used for supplier selection is the AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) method. The research was conducted at PT RZ, a shoe company that will work with shoe leather suppliers. This study aims to determine the best supplier preferences by criteria and sub -criteria. In the end, the rating is determined from the criteria for the relative importance of supplier selection: priority I is quality (0.450), priority II is price (0.265), priority III is service (0.127), and the next priority is delivery and quantity with equal priority (0.79). In the end, the rating is determined from the criteria for the relative importance of supplier selection: the first priority is Supplier X (0.500), the second priority is Supplier Z (0.312), and the next priority is Supplier Y (0.188). Related suppliers, the company can select Supplier X as the supplier of leather raw materials with the highest final value. With the selection of these suppliers, we hope to improve the performance of supply chain relationships between companies and suppliers in a better direction in the future.
