Abstract

Background: Students often struggle with forming harmonious relationships, breaking rules, and adjusting to school demands. Specific Background: School well-being is a key factor influencing students’ ability to adapt socially and emotionally in school. Gap: Few studies focus on vocational school students, despite their unique challenges. Aim: This study investigates the relationship between school well-being and self-adjustment among class 10 students at Krembung Islamic Vocational School. Method: A correlational quantitative design was used with 202 randomly selected students, employing school well-being and self-adjustment scales with high validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment correlation. Results: Findings indicate a significant positive relationship (r = 0.662, p < 0.05), with school well-being contributing 43.5% to self-adjustment variance. Novelty: This research highlights the importance of school well-being in vocational education contexts. Abstract

Background: The rapid development of technology has changed how teenagers communicate, with social media becoming their primary platform. Specific Background: This shift has raised concerns regarding teenagers’ social well-being, including miscommunication and reduced empathy during online interactions. Gap: Few studies have specifically mapped the level of social well-being among adolescent social media users in local communities. Aim: This study aimed to describe the social well-being of teenagers who actively use social media in Gelam Village, Sidoarjo. Method: A quantitative descriptive approach was employed, involving 214 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a social well-being Likert scale and analyzed using descriptive statistics with SPSS 25. Results: Findings revealed that 72.6% of respondents were in the medium social well-being category, with balanced results across gender. Novelty: This study provides localized empirical evidence of teenagers’ social well-being levels. Implications: The results can guide parents, educators, and policymakers in designing programs to strengthen teenagers’ positive social interactions both online and offline. Abstract

Background: Online game addiction is increasingly recognized as a factor affecting students’ academic performance. Specific Background: This study explores the relationship between online gaming habits and students’ learning motivation in senior high schools. Gap: Limited research has addressed how gaming addiction correlates with motivation in the context of Indonesian education. Aim: To analyze the relationship between online game addiction and students’ learning motivation. Results: Findings indicate a significant negative correlation between game addiction levels and students’ motivation, suggesting that higher gaming intensity leads to decreased learning engagement. Novelty: This research contributes by combining behavioral and motivational analysis to provide a comprehensive view of the impact of online gaming on learning motivation. Implications: The results offer insight for educators and parents to develop strategies to mitigate negative gaming behaviors and foster healthier study habits among students. Abstract

Background: Islamic boarding schools play a significant role in shaping students’ character and discipline. Specific Background: Muhammadiyah An-Nur Sidoarjo is a relatively new boarding school that combines formal education and Islamic values. Gap: There is limited research focusing on parenting patterns and their role in forming discipline among female students (santriwati) in this context. Aim: This study aims to describe the parenting patterns, obstacles, and positive impacts in forming santriwati discipline. Method: A qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design was used. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and supporting documents. Results: Findings reveal that discipline formation is supported by regulations, positive activities, role models (ustadz/ustadzah), and structured education. Obstacles include wrong initial intentions, lack of knowledge practice, and poor adaptation. Novelty: This research highlights contextual parenting practices in a Muhammadiyah boarding school setting. Implications: The results can guide educators and administrators in designing more effective disciplinary programs and improving student adaptation. Abstract

General background: Menstruation, postpartum bleeding, and istihadhoh are essential biological and religious aspects in women’s lives, directly influencing health and Islamic worship practices. Specific background: In Islamic boarding schools, female students are expected to master this knowledge as part of their daily practice of purity and ibadah. Knowledge gap: Previous studies have mostly focused on adult women, while there is limited evidence on how female students in pesantren understand these issues. Aims: This study investigates the level of understanding of female students at Darussalamah Islamic Boarding School, Sidoarjo, regarding menstruation, postpartum bleeding, and istihadhoh. Results: Findings indicate that 100% of respondents understood the definitions of menstruation and postpartum bleeding, while 14% were unclear about istihadhoh. Furthermore, 16% of students did not fully comprehend prohibitions during postpartum. Novelty: This study highlights the integration of Islamic jurisprudence with reproductive health education within pesantren curricula, combining traditional and digital learning sources. Implications: The results suggest the need for more interactive discussions and simplified teaching materials to strengthen comprehension and ensure students can practice worship correctly while raising reproductive health awareness in pesantren contexts. Abstract

Background: Reading skills (maharah qira’ah) are essential in Arabic learning but often considered difficult due to limited instructional media. Specific Background: Students at MA Islamiyah Tanggulangin showed low motivation and difficulty understanding Arabic texts. Gap: Few studies have focused on developing pop-up book media for teaching qira’ah at the Madrasah Aliyah level. Aim: This study aims to develop a valid, practical, and effective pop-up book for improving students’ Arabic reading skills. Method: Using the R&D approach with the 4D model, the media was validated by experts and tested with students. Results: Validation achieved an average score of 97.33% (very valid), and student responses indicated high practicality. Novelty: The study introduces an interactive 3D visual medium to enhance motivation and comprehension in Arabic learning. Implications: The pop-up book serves as an innovative tool for improving engagement and learning quality in Arabic education. Abstract

Background: School leadership plays a crucial role in shaping teachers’ pedagogical quality, especially in Islamic education settings. Specific Background: In Indonesia, many Islamic Education teachers still struggle to meet pedagogical standards due to limited guidance and motivation from school leaders. Gap: Few studies have explored how principals in public schools support the development of Islamic Education teachers’ competencies through practical leadership strategies. Aims: This study aims to describe the principal’s role in improving pedagogical competence and identify challenges faced in the process. Results: The findings reveal that the principal acts effectively as a leader, facilitator, motivator, and resource manager, although challenges arise from limited resources and lengthy administrative processes. Novelty: The study provides a contextual insight into Islamic school leadership practices at the junior high level. Specific Background: In the high school context, textbooks serve as the primary medium to instill Islamic values through integrated learning materials. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies often focused on curriculum compliance but rarely examined the alignment between textbook content and moral character formation. Aims: This study aims to analyze the structure, language, and moral values in the Islamic Religious Education and Ethics textbook for Grade X students. Results: Findings indicate that the book aligns well with curriculum standards, presents balanced topics on faith, worship, and ethics, and embeds Islamic values comprehensively. Abstract

Background: The development of Islamic capital markets has increased interest among students to invest, yet their understanding of financial literacy remains limited. Specific Background: Previous studies focused mainly on conventional literacy, while this research emphasizes Islamic financial literacy among students. Knowledge Gap: There is a lack of empirical data linking Islamic financial literacy with students’ investment interest. Aims: This study aims to identify the level of Islamic financial literacy and its relationship with students’ investment interest. Results: Findings indicate that students with higher literacy levels demonstrate stronger interest and better investment behavior aligned with sharia principles. Novelty: This study integrates financial education and Islamic values as an approach to strengthening students’ economic awareness. Abstract

Background: Islamic Religious Education in elementary schools often faces low student engagement due to monotonous teaching methods. Specific Background: Teachers rarely use technology-based learning media, resulting in students’ difficulty memorizing Adzan and Iqomah properly. Gap: Few studies have explored the integration of Augmented Reality (AR) for Islamic studies in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Aim: This research aims to develop AR-based learning media on Adzan and Iqomah material for second-grade students. Results: The AR media was developed through the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation) and showed improved student motivation, understanding, and memorization accuracy. Novelty: The use of AR in teaching Islamic rituals at the elementary level represents a creative approach that merges technology with religious education. Implications: The findings emphasize the importance of digital innovation to strengthen students’ engagement and teachers’ creativity in Islamic learning.
