Abstract

The Regional Leadership of Ogan Komering Ilir Regency (PDA OKI) is one of the PDAs in South Sumatra Province which is considered slow to develop. It is therefore necessary to carry out a study as a tabayyun effort by regional leaders. This research is a qualitative descriptive study based on a case study which attempts to summarize a phenomenon to the reality. The research object is the PDA OKI in the key person-based. The main data collection method is interviews with triangulation analysis techniques. The results of the research show that the quiet activity of the PDA OKI is because even though regional expansion has occurred, the vastness of the OKI territory is still in sense, so it has an impact on feedback, tools and facilities, as well as development opportunities. Furthermore, the results of the analysis show that the PDA OKI is not an area that is silent in its activities, in fact it has the opportunity to grow better and become a primadona because of the potential of its cadres and opportunities for communication development.Highlights: Regional Challenges: The vast OKI area limits development and feedback opportunities for PDA OKI. Potential for Growth: PDA OKI has untapped potential due to its capable cadres and leaders. Positive Outlook: Despite challenges, PDA OKI holds promise to become a regional primadona. Keywords: Feedback, Tools and Facilities, Opportunities, Potential Cadres, Communication Development

Abstract

The present research is aimed at considering the approach to the methodology of maqasid-based interpretation in modern exegesis based on models that use the objectives of Islamic law as a tool for the interpretation of the Qur'anic text. The research reveals the theoretical grounds of this approach, the motives for its development in modernity, and the calculation of its practical usage, paying primary attention to the works of Shi'a Imami exegetes while using certain works from other interpretive schools as support. The research uses descriptive, analytical, and critical means to appraise the interpretative texts and the degree of adherence to principles and guidelines of exegesis. The study concludes that the maqasid approach has contributed remarkably to the contemporary Qur'anic interpretation, but only insofar as it is used strictly within the boundaries of scholarly and legal criteria. The research suggests the further refinement of this methodology in order to reconcile Islamic law goals with textual limitations of the Qur'an. Highlights: Highlights the role of maqasid in modern Qur'anic interpretation. Focuses on Imami exegetes with comparative analysis. Emphasizes scholarly criteria for valid interpretive use. Keywords: Maqasid Methodology, Contemporary Exegesis, Islamic Legal Objectives, Imami Interpretation, Principles of Qur'anic Interpretation

Abstract

General background: Higher education institutions in Indonesia are challenged to produce competent graduates who can compete in the global workforce. Specific background: At Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo, tracer study data show that the graduation rate remains below 50%, largely due to suboptimal work readiness among students. Knowledge gap: While previous studies address factors influencing employability, limited attention has been given to the simultaneous role of the family environment, information systems, and organizational activeness in shaping work readiness. Aims: This study investigates the contribution of these three factors to the work readiness of management students. Results: Using a quantitative approach with 317 active students and multiple linear regression analysis through SPSS, the findings demonstrate that the family environment, information systems, and organizational activeness collectively and significantly shape student work readiness. Novelty: The study integrates academic, social, and technological dimensions in one model, offering a holistic perspective on graduate preparedness. Implications: The results provide insights for universities to strengthen family engagement, optimize information systems, and encourage organizational participation as strategies to enhance student readiness for employment. Highlights: Graduation rate below 50% linked to weak work readiness. Three factors collectively determine student readiness for employment. Integrated approach provides strategic insights for higher education. Keywords: Family Environment; Information Systems; Organizational Activeness; Work Readiness; Higher Education

Abstract

Background: Higher education plays a crucial role not only in providing academic knowledge but also in shaping students’ moral and social character. Specific Background: In Muhammadiyah universities, the Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah (AIK) course is a key instrument for instilling Islamic values and social responsibility. Knowledge Gap: Limited studies have examined the specific relationship between AIK understanding and students’ philanthropic attitudes using a quantitative approach. Aim: This study investigates the relationship between students’ AIK knowledge, understanding, and involvement with their philanthropic attitudes. Results: Data from 230 respondents were analyzed using Pearson correlation and multiple linear regression. All AIK indicators showed a positive and significant correlation with philanthropic attitude indicators (r = 0.40–0.50, p < 0.01). Regression results confirmed that AIK knowledge, understanding, and participation significantly predicted students’ philanthropic attitudes (p < 0.05), with involvement in AIK discussions showing the strongest coefficient (β = 0.35). Novelty: The study provides empirical evidence on the contribution of AIK education to character building within Islamic higher education. Implications: Strengthening AIK curricula and interactive learning activities can strategically foster students’ social and philanthropic engagement. Highlights: Strengthens philanthropic attitudes through AIK education Quantitative evidence of positive relationship Curriculum recommendations for character building Keywords: Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah, Philanthropy, Character Building, Higher Education, Regression Analysis

Abstract

General Background: Early adulthood is a critical stage where individuals experience major developmental, psychological, and social transitions. Specific Background: Female students are particularly vulnerable to social anxiety and body dissatisfaction due to social and cultural expectations about appearance. Knowledge Gap: Despite increasing concerns about these issues, research focusing on their relationship in Indonesian higher education contexts is limited. Aims: This study aims to examine the relationship between body dissatisfaction and social anxiety among female students at Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo. Results: Using a quantitative correlational design with 150 participants, body dissatisfaction was measured with the Multidimensional Body-Self Relations Questionnaire–Appearance, and social anxiety with the Social Anxiety Scale by La Greca and Lopez. Data analysis using Pearson Product Moment showed a significant positive correlation (r = 0.653, p < 0.001). Novelty: The findings highlight how body dissatisfaction significantly contributes to social anxiety, explaining 42% of its variance, specifically within the Indonesian female student population. Implications: These results provide empirical evidence to develop intervention programs in higher education aimed at reducing body dissatisfaction and social anxiety, thereby promoting mental health and well-being among female students.
