Abstract

One alternative to stabilize the soil is mixing fiber with soil. This study aims to determine the effect of adding fiber to the soil on the CBR value. The land was taken from the Tambasa road area, Tamalanrea District, Makassar City. Then, feature testing and compaction testing (standard proctor) were carried out to obtain optimum water content and after that proceed to CBR (Unsoaked design) testing. The results showed that the characteristics of the soil including clay and CBR testing on both samples obtained CBR values increased with the addition of 0.5% fiber and decreased with the addition of 0.75% and 1% fiber. From the research results, it is known that the more fiber added to the soil, the CBR value will decrease.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the correlation of compressive streght and shear strength in clay varied with bottom ash mixture. The soil tested in this study came from Jl.Poros Malino-Makassar, RW 63 Paringgi, Kec. Tinggi moncong , Kab. Gowa, South Sulawesi. In the contruction of structuction on clay soil will cause several problems, such as the small value of the compressive strength and shear strength of the soil. In order to know the results. To see the behavior of this structure, bottom ash is mixed with bottom ash mixture variations. To find out the effect of combining clay soil with bottom ash on compressive strength and shear strength vales, it was done by combining bottom ash of 0%, 15%,20%,25%, and 30%. The test was carried out mechanically, namely direct shear strength and compressive strength testing to determine the correlation vetween the stress value (qu) and the direct shear value (Cu). From the results of this independent com[pressive strength test, the highest stress value (qu) was obtained at point 1 obtained at 30% variation of 0.278 (kg/cm2) and the direct shear strength lest obtained the highst direct shear value (Cu) at poin 1 obtaind at 30% variation of 0.111 (kg/cm2), at poin the 2 largest stress values (qu) are at 30% variation of 0.262 (kg/cm2) and the largest direct shear values (Cu) are at 30% variation of 0.103 (kg/cm2) . So it can be said that the value of the independent compressive strength test and the direct shear strength value are correlated with eact other because both have increased, the higher the bottom ash dose, the higjer the direct shear value (Cu) and the stress value (qu).

Abstract

The use of concrete in Indonesia is increasingly widespread due to the main reasons that underlie concrete as the main choice in construction work compared to wood. Hollow concrete is concrete without fine aggregate and only consists of coarse aggregate, cement and water. The specimen in the form of a cylinder measuring 15 x 30 cm is then tested with a predetermined concrete age of 28 days. From the test results obtained a compressive strength of 14.343 MPa. The results of the permeability test for hollow concrete at the age of 28 days were 2.040 cm/sec. The results of the pore volume test on hollow concrete with an age of 28 days were 25.157%. From the results of the test above, the characteristics of hollow concrete (compressive strength, permeability, and pore volume) obtained using coarse aggregate from the Dampala river, Morowali Regency in the compressive strength test obtained a compressive strength value of 14, 434 Mpa so it does not meet the compressive strength plan i.e. 20 MPa. Permeability testing and pore volume obtained from this test are satisfactory.

Abstract

Sanddunes are a natural formation due to wind processes called aeolean morphology. Sumalu sandbank has rather hard grains like river sand and is purplish ash. Sumalu sand predominantly contains silica which is a good aggregate binder, this is the same as the function of cement in a concrete mixture. Superplasticizer is classified as an additional material to increase workability, where when providing additional materials Superplasticizer moisture content in concrete can be reduced without reducing workability. The coarse aggregate of this test comes from the Jeneberang river and the fine aggregate comes from Sumalu. The method used is Mix Design SNI 03-2834-2000. The compressive strength of the concrete was tested when the specimens were 7, 14 and 28 days old. The compressive strength values of concrete at 28 days for normal concrete, variations of 0.5%, 1.0% and 1.5% are 25,821 MPa, 26,289 MPa, 25,392 MPa and 24,752 MPa. The results obtained from the tests were that the average concrete flexural strength values for normal concrete and variations of 0.5%, 1.0% and 1.5% were 2.921 MPa, 3.173 MPa, 2.619 MPa and 2.166 MPa. From the test results, the average theoretical modulus of elasticity values in normal concrete and variations of 0.5%, 1.0% and 1.5% are 23882.753 MPa, 24098.216 MPa, 23683.522 MPa, 23383.149 MPa.

Abstract

In recent years, Maros Regency has become an area that is often affected by floods, one of the affected locations is the Pesona Pelangi Residence housing, Moncongloe District, Maros Regency. Therefore, a plan discharge analysis and drainage system capacity evaluation need to be carried out to find out whether the channel capacity in the Pesona Pelangi Residence housing is adequate to accommodate the planned discharge. It is hoped that the results of the evaluation can be a reference in solving existing problems. The first step of hydrological analysis is the calculation of the planned flood discharge and calculation on the channel dimensions to determine the existing capacity discharge, then compare the plan discharge with the channel capacity discharge. If the capacity discharge exceeds the planned discharge, then the channel is considered capable and vice versait was found that there were 30 channels that were unable to accommodate the planned discharge. If the capacity discharge exceeds the planned discharge, then the channel is considered capable and vice versa. This study calculates the planned discharge with a 5-year anniversary period using the rational method of modifaction and the Manning equation for the calculation of capacity analysis. Based on the survey, the calculation results for the planned rain (5-year anniversary period) were 175.91 mm and it was also found that as many as 30 channels were unable to accommodate the planned discharge.

Abstract

The population and count of vehicles in Makassar City as the capital city of South Sulawesi Province, continues to increase every year, so that traffic flow increases. For this reason, it must be supported with adequate service facilities, especially on routes that can cause congestion if not handled technically. One example of a signalized intersection where long queues often occur is the Goa Ria intersection in Biringkanaya District, Makassar City Using the 2014 PKJI Method. The research location at the intersection of Jalan Goa Ria, Biringkanaya District is a three-signalized intersection. At this intersection congestion, queues and delays often occur due to heavy traffic, especially during rush hour. Based on the problems above, the signalized intersection on Jalan Goa Ria, Biringkanaya District needs to be reviewed regarding traffic light settings using the PKJI 2014 method as an update from MKJI 1997. The results of the Traffic Light Review at Goa Ria Intersection, Biringkanaya District obtained traffic light settings on The Goa Ria intersection, Biringkanaya District is less effective because based on calculations using the 2014 Indonesia Road Capacity Guidelines it produces different traffic light cycle time values and high queue length and delay values, especially on the north arm. Traffic volume at the Goa Ria intersection, Biringkanaya sub-district occurs during the afternoon peak hours with the volume on the North arm 1182 pcu/hour, East 152.8 pcu/hour, and South 955.8 pcu/hour.

Abstract

Land is a means of supporting buildings such as buildings, land transportation buildings, and aqueducts, as the land is used as the site where the building is built, so the power of the land affects the safety and comfort of the building. However, not all soils have good support, therefore, less good soils need to be stabilized by solidification or mixing of added materials that can improve soil properties such as cement, fly ash, lime, sand, and others. This study aims to determine the sliding angle of the mixture of rice and lime ash with some variation in the level of added ingredients and through direct shear, with reference to the American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM D3080). In this study, additional material was tested on a mixture of Lempung Soil using less than 50% gravel and sand soil. The methodology in this study is to be a reference and future evaluation to further develop rice husks and lime ash waste as an additional material for direct shear testing. Water content is 55.949%, land weight is 39.22 gr/cm3, land type weight 2.34 gr/cm3, brick boundary Atterbag liquid limit 54.40, plastic limit 40.53 and plastic index 13.67.
