EDU RESEARCH : Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan merupakan jurnal yang diterbitkan oleh IICLS (Indonesian Institute for Corporate Learning and Studies), dan sebagai sarana publikasi hasil penelitian serta sharing perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan. Jurnal ini memuat artikel yang belum pernah dipublikasikan sebelumnya yang berupa artikel hasil penelitian ataupun penelitian terapan, artikel telaah yang berkaitan dengan perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan proses pembelajaran. Informasi mengenai pedoman penulisan artikel dan prosedur pengiriman artikel terdapat pada setiap penerbitan. Semua artikel yang masuk akan melalui ‘peer-review process’ setelah memenuhi persyaratan sesuai pedoman penulisan artikel. Penerbitan jurnal ini dilakukan sebanyak tiga bulan sekali yaitu pada bulan Maret, Juni, September, dan Desember.

Abstract

This research aims to apply the ARCS model to students in class IV of SD Negeri 111 Pidoli Dolok and investigate whether the Indonesian language learning outcomes of these students have improved. This research uses the classroom action research (PTK) method. This study used a cycle design, cycle I and cycle II, with a population of 24 students from class IV. Observation and testing were the research instruments used. This research utilized qualitative descriptions, quantitative descriptions, and validity and reliability tests to analyze the data. The results of this research show that the ARCS model approach shows that students still found several problems in the first cycle, with an average score of 71.88% (fair), and then improved in the second cycle, with an average score of 95% (very good). . Based on students' learning results in the first cycle, they obtained a classical completeness score of 71,88%, and in the second cycle, they obtained a completeness score of 92,86%. Therefore, we can conclude that the implemented ARCS model approach effectively enhances student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The role of relative/adjective clauses in introducing new information, connecting with given information in sentences structures plays role in constructing grammatical sentences and doing well communication to face the global challenge. While some EFL learners still have sufficient knowledge in using relative clauses so it is assumed that not all EFL learners know how to construct adjective clauses grammatically and understand cognitively. This study shows how learners construct relative clauses in writing short descriptive essay. What learners’ problems as effect of lack competence on English grammar rules and some deviation which is caused by the Indonesian interference in English use since two languages have different pattern are discussed in this study as well. Through the analysis of 40 pieces of learners’ short descriptive ­­­essay, it is found that basic forms of English relative clauses; distinguishing between the antecedent; typically in a main clause and the relative pronoun in the relative clauses, the difference grammatical roles of possessive relative, differences between restrictive and non-restrictive relative clauses with their separation markers are problems in using adjective clause. The analysis of the data and discussion in this study are based on the theories of English grammatical, especially learning EFL and this study is derived and further developed based on a research report conducted in 2012 and 2016.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of case-based and project-based learning methods in improving students' understanding of state institutions and the constitution in higher education. Learning methods based on case studies and projects have proven effective in enhancing students' critical, analytical, and practical skills in understanding complex constitutional concepts. Additionally, this study discusses the factors that influence students' understanding of constitutional material and the role of state institutions, such as teaching quality, student motivation, academic background, and students' active involvement in learning. The study's findings indicate that a combination of interactive learning methods, along with individual student factors, can enhance their understanding of topics related to the constitution and state institutions. Therefore, it is essential for higher education institutions to adopt more active and contextual learning methods to enrich students' understanding of these topics.

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) can be used by teachers to create specific English teaching materials for various fields in vocational high schools. This research aimed at finding out how English teachers in vocational high schools used AI in creating teaching materials. This research was conducted in 9 vocational high schools in Payakumbuh City, both public and private, where the research subjects were English teachers. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires and conducting interviews. The data were then classified based on the categories of platform for each reading, writing, listening, and speaking skill, as well as teachers’ responses to the use of AI. The research results showed that English teachers at the vocational high schools in Payakumbuh City barely used AI, they were still at the stage of using a few narrow AI platforms a translation platform or application. Teachers were not familiar with various platforms for the other four skills in English. On the other side, even though they had not used AI, but 72.2% of teachers agreed that AI is an important technology and can save their time in preparing up-to-date English teaching materials. It is hoped that this research will be able to motivate English teachers to recognize the features offered by AI to prepare English teaching materials that are authentic and field-specific in vocational schools.

Abstract

Seni tari tradisi mengandung nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang dapat dikembangkan dan diajarkan melalui media gerak pada karya tari baru. Salah satu tari tradisi yang memiliki nilai pendidikan merupakan tari Singgam Pari yang terdapat di daerah Mengkadai Kecamatan Limun Kabupaten Sarolangun Provinsi Jambi. Nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter ini dapat diajarkan dengan metode pembelajaran yang lebih fleksibel. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat nilai-nilai apa saja yang terkandung dalam tari tradisi Singgam Pari dan bagaimana metode pengajaran nilai pendidikan melalui karya tari baru. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawanacara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan tari Singgam Pari terdiri atas lima gerakan, masing-masing gerakan memiliki nilai pendidikan karakter tersendiri. Nilai pendidikan pada gerak limbai tangan yang mengajarkan kelenturan, kelemahan dan kelembutan. Nilai pendidikan pada gerak lambaian kanan kiri terdapat nilai pendidikan karakter yang mengajarkan keseimbangan dan kekuatan. Nilai pendidikan pada gerak lenggang depan dan belakang yang disampaikan adalah bagaimana seseorang dapat melanjutkan kehidupan dengan mengatur dua sudut pandang. Nilai pendidikan pada gerak lambai duduk nilai pendidikan yang diajarkan adalah bagaimana seseorang harus selalu merasa rendah diri. Nilai pendidikan pada gerak berputar ini memiliki arti yang kompleks. Pada bagian awal gerak ini mengajarkan untuk dapat melakukan pekerjaan secara menyeluruh dan tidak terpaku pada satu titik. Metode yang dapat digunakan untuk memberikan pengajaran pendidikan pada seseorang adalah dengan media gerak dalam karya tari baru, selain itu dapat digunakan struktur dramatik kerucut tunggal pada karya tari agar ,mudah dipahami oleh penikmatnya.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the influence of the fun learning teaching method on the fundamental motor skills of fourth-grade students at SDN 77 Pekanbaru. The research employed an experimental method with a pre-test and post-test design. Data were collected using the Test of Gross Motor Development-2 (TGMD-2) before and after implementing the fun learning method over 10 sessions. The analysis results indicate a significant improvement in students' motor skills, with the average post-test scores being higher than the pre-test scores. Additionally, this method enhanced students' activeness, enthusiasm, and creativity during the learning process. Statistical tests showed a significance value (0.001) < 0.05, supporting the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha). This study concludes that the fun learning method effectively improves students' motor skills and can serve as an innovative teaching alternative. Recommendations are provided for teachers, schools, students, and researchers to optimize the application of this method in education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) and Self-Efficacy Model of Students Against Students' Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) Mathematics. This study uses a quasi-experimental design with a non-quivalent pre-test and post-test control group design. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that there is an effect of the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model to the Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) of Student Mathematics. which is indicated by obtaining the value of F_count for model variables is 9,382, the value of F_count is compared with F_tabel which is 3.10 then it can be concluded that F_count> F_ (table) or 9.3382 > 3.10. there is no effect of students 'self-efficacy on students' higher order thinking skills (HOTS) mathematics. seen that the value of F_calculated for the Self Efficacy questionnaire was 0.285 while the value of F_table was 3.10, when compared to F_count 〖<F 〗table or 0.285 < 3.10. there is no interaction between the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model and students 'self-efficacy towards students' higher order thinking skills (HOTS) mathematics. it can be seen that the calculated F_ value for the factors for the learning model and Self-Efficacy variables is 0.697 while the F_ value (table) is 3.10. When compared, it can be concluded that F_count < F_tabel or 0.697 < 3.10.

Abstract

Individu dengan gangguan penglihatan sering menghadapi kendala akses informasi yang menghambat partisipasi mereka dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan, seperti pendidikan, pekerjaan, komunikasi, keuangan, rekreasi, hingga aktivitas mandiri. Namun, kemajuan teknologi telah menghasilkan berbagai solusi inovatif untuk mengatasi hambatan tersebut. Salah satu terobosannya adalah perkembangan teknologi asistif untuk berlari, yang berdampak besar pada peningkatan mobilitas tunanetra. Penelitian ini adalah tinjauan sistematis terhadap literatur yang bertujuan mengeksplorasi perkembangan klasifikasi teknologi asistif berlari guna meningkatkan mobilitas tunanetra. Dari 67 artikel yang diunduh, seleksi berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi menghasilkan 6 artikel relevan untuk dianalisis. Artikel-artikel tersebut dikaji lebih lanjut dengan mengelompokkan perangkat yang digunakan guna mengidentifikasi inovasi dan perkembangan terkini di bidang ini. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa perangkat seperti aplikasi smartphone, jaket berbasis visi komputer, sarung tangan haptic, hingga robot asistif dengan sistem navigasi berbasis GPS dan elektromagnetik, serta alat bantu berupa antena, dapat secara signifikan meningkatkan kemandirian dan keamanan pelari tunanetra. Walaupun tantangan seperti stabilitas, optimalisasi, dan biaya masih ada, inovasi-inovasi ini menawarkan masa depan yang menjanjikan bagi teknologi asistif. Sistem-sistem tersebut memiliki potensi besar untuk menggantikan peran pemandu manusia dan memberikan tingkat kemandirian yang lebih tinggi, baik dalam aktivitas berlari maupun kegiatan sehari-hari.

Abstract

This study examines how well sixth-grade students at SDIT Az-Zuhra, Pekanbaru, use the Index Card Match method to improve their 4C skills Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK). The research was carried out across four sessions, split into two cycles, each consisting of two meetings, using a Class Action Research (CAR) methodology. Data was gathered from observations, interviews, and recording of the 28 students who took part. Students first demonstrated poor competency in all four C skills during the pre-cycle period, mostly as a result of the preponderance of passive learning techniques. Despite modest advancements in teamwork, critical thinking, communication, and creativity were still below par in the first cycle, which was ascribed to difficulties in applying the Index Card Match approach. By the second cycle, however, notable improvements were seen, with students exhibiting excellent communication and teamwork abilities as well as strong growth in critical thinking and creativity. According to the results, the Index Card Match approach greatly aids in the development of critical 21st-century abilities and promotes active learning. In order to further encourage skill enhancement in educational settings, this study suggests that interactive teaching approaches be used and improved.

Abstract

This article discusses the role of the philosophy of science in building a foundation for critical thinking based on local wisdom of the Kerinci culture, particularly in the tradition of kenduri sko. The aim of this research is to explore and integrate the local wisdom values present in the Kerinci culture into the development of critical thinking skills in elementary school students. This study employs a literature review approach to analyze various references on the philosophy of science, critical thinking, and local wisdom. The findings indicate that utilizing local wisdom in the learning process can enrich students' perspectives, enhance their critical thinking abilities, and strengthen their cultural identity. This article is expected to contribute to the development of education based on local wisdom and improve the quality of elementary school learning.
