Abstract

This study aims to determine how the application of Islamic communication patterns in parenting by women activists, in this case is the Muslimah Brotherhood Organization (Salimah) Samarinda City. This research is a qualitative descriptive study and the method is field research. Data collection tehniques use observation, interview and documentation. The results of this research are application of Islamic communication patterns namely: (1) The communication pattern in the form of question is always used in daily life, to ask about the children’s condition, opinion or remind them about something. (2) The pattern of communication in the form of dialogue (question and answer) is often used to explore deeper desire, opinion or children’s condition. (3) The pattern of communication in the form of an oath, according to research conducted by researchers, is rarely even almost never carried out by parents to children, considering that oaths are sacred things in the custom of Indonesian. (4) The communication pattern in the form of promise and threat are considered quite effective in caring for children, therefore children are motivated to apply kindness and stay away from prohibition. (5) Communication patterns in the form of proverbs or parables are often used to convey something that is difficult to explain. (6) The communication pattern in the form of a story is very effective in impressing the children’s soul. (7) The communication pattern in the form of repetition (tikrar) to convey important thing must always be repeated to remind the children. (8) The communication pattern in the form of gradual is considered very necessary and effective in caring for children because each child has different age and acceptance.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the strategy to reduce the negative sentiment of Eiger's objection letter. This study was analyzed based on the theory of image recovery with descriptive qualitative observation methods, namely analyzing the content of Eiger's Instagram and Twitter posts and the content of followers' comments. The results of this study indicate that Eiger implements an image restoration strategy through social media in order to change public perceptions and attitudes, namely to quickly and accurately respond to apologies through the content of "love letters to Eigerian" as well as direct clarification videos from the CEO who honestly admits his mistakes. without involving or blaming other internal parties on the company. Furthermore, providing maximum and better service in order to gain a positive reputation for Eiger. The results of the study recommend that Eiger can carry out offers of events or social activities such as promos, discounts, give aways or donations by involving CSR and the public, so that companies have a harmonious relationship with the public as users of their products.

Abstract

Product marketing methods are increasingly diverse, for example automotive products. The intense competition from one automotive company to another makes the marketing field have to race with the ideas and ideas presented. The message that is constructed through advertising must be made as attractive as possible to steal the attention of the audience. An automotive product that tries to do marketing with a different idea is Nissan Indonesia. The ad is made by inserting a message of how warmth and happiness can be created in a family. This study aims to identify the signifier, signified and also the myths contained in Nissan Indonesia advertisements with the title "Sopir Keluarga" which tries to represent the life of today's hedonism. The research method used is semiotic analysis. The type of semiotics chosen is Rolland Barthes semiotics. The results of the study indicate that the overall myth found is hedonic behavior in the form of using branded goods. Then it was also found that excessive social media activity so as to form a lifestyle that allows a person to slip into arrogance and arrogance.

Abstract

This research wants to know the influence of Youtube and Fcaebook on the political economy of communication. This studi uses the political economy theory of communication and new media theory. This study uses a qualitative methololody with a literature revies study. Based on th theory of new media and the political economy of communication, global captalism based on digital technology and the internet has transformed into e-capitalism that dominates the global media market. Facebook indireclty has hires its users to generate capital accumulation without them knowing that they have become “workers”. Basically, the activity of uploading videos oh Youtube can be classified as political economy activity. This is because in the proces of production, distribution and consumption of media content, it is the company that retains the highest authority. Users are able to produce and distribute ther content through the platforms provided, but users need to obey the rules that have been made by the company. This is done to increase the company’s profit. The existence of new media such as Youtube has made the audience good consumers and has prepared them to become obedient workers to the owners of capital.

Abstract

Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, children spend more time at home and use smartphones in their spare time. Excessive use of gadgets is bad for children physically and psychologically. Parents as a reference group have a function in influencing and controlling children in using gadgets. This study aims to confirm the effect of the intensity of parent-child communication on the level of addiction to playing gadgets for early childhood during the Covid-19 pandemic. Collecting data using a Likert scale questionnaire. The instrument was developed by the researcher himself using the intensity of parental communication and addiction to playing gadgets. The instrument was tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis technique was carried out through simple regression analysis with the help of the Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS). The results of the study show the results of 0.002, this number is smaller than 0.05, indicating that there is a significant effect between the two variables. Regression test shows that the lower the communication between parents and children, the higher the child's addiction to gadgets.

Abstract

Mass media plays an important role in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic, especially in the online media Facebook. The importance of communication provides effectiveness in conveying information. Through clear and clear communication, the information conveyed will be received easily even in difficult situations. The purpose of writing this article is to provide an explanation and description of the communication strategy carried out by the Blitar Regency BPBD Covid-19 Handling Task Force through a Facebook account. This research was conducted using descriptive qualitative. The results of the research in this paper explain that through social media Facebook the information obtained makes it easier for people from various circles. In addition, with social media on Facebook, the community can play an active role in providing opinions, ideas, and input in handling Covid-19

Abstract

This research is to determine the effect of media literacy on the behavior of spreading hoax. The concept used is the concept of media literacy, which consists of seven skills, and Hoax Spreading Behavior, which consists of three factors. This research approach is quantitative. The research method used is an explanatory research type survey. The research population in this study were 87 of STIKOM Inter Studi Students, Broadcasting Department, Class 2017. To calculate the number of samples, used the Slovin formula with an error rate of 10% and got the results of 57 people as respondents. Data collection is observation, questionnaire distribution, and literature study. The data obtained were analyzed by statistical calculations using the SPSS program. The results show that the media literacy variable (X) had a significant influence to the hoax spread behavior variable (Y) in Generation Z. However, respondents tend to have media literacy skills at a basic level, because they only has an effect of 32%. Thus, this is a reminder that the public can increase awareness in media literacy regarding the spread of hoaxes around them.

Abstract

study aims to analyze the potential of Tik-Tok social media as a new medium in conveying da'wah messages and then analyze its weaknesses and strengths. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method with data sources in the form of documents, video postings from social media accounts with analytical methods relating to theories related to da'wah media, da'wah messages and also new media. The results show that Tik-Tok can be optimized for the purpose of conveying da'wah messages as exemplified by Ustaz Syam in the @syam_elmarusy account using Tik-Tok's advantages, namely an attractive visual appearance. With this display, Ustaz Syam conveyed a message of da'wah that was still based on the Qur'an and Hadith with da'wah konten ranging from Islamic teachings in it, related to aqidah, sharia and morals/muamalah with the aim of making it easily accepted by generations of Tik-Tok users as da'wah partners.

Abstract

Multicultural society as a supporter of an intercultural communication that makes Balirejo Village community relations continues to run harmoniously even though they live side by side with different cultures. This study aims to determine the process of intercultural communication in the transmigration area by the people of Balirejo Village, Angkona District, South Sulawesi Province. To reveal this phenomenon, the author uses qualitative research methods using the social interaction model to see human behavior and interactions that can be distinguished because they are displayed through the communication process. To get the data, the writer uses three data collection techniques, namely observation, in-depth interviews and documentation review. The results of this study found that there has been a reciprocal adaptation between Javanese and Balinese ethnicities as immigrants in East Luwu Regency and residing in Balirejo Village. The existence of mutual respect and respect between ethnic groups allows each of these ethnic groups to carry out their respective cultures. People from ethnic Javanese and Balinese during the dialogue can use Javanese, Balinese or Indonesian with a typical East Luwu dialect. So far the relationship between the two ethnic groups has been going on without any significant obstacles because each ethnic group has accepted each other as they are.

Abstract

The main task of a lecturer is to carry out the There Pillars of Higher Education which includes teaching, research and community service. Ideally, while carrying out these three pillars, lecturers should have qualified educational background to be recognized as a competent lecturer. The existence of competencies in accordance with the scientific field in carrying out the Three Pillars of Higher Education will indirectly provide an identity, distinctiveness and brand for a lecturer. The purpose of this study is to explain and describe how the implementation of the Thee Pillars including teaching, research and community service by a lecturer in terms of building uniqueness and identity through personal branding. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive approach using interview and observation techniques to several lecturers at the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Parepare. The results of this research show that in terms of teaching, there are still lecturers who carry out teaching functions that are not in accordance with their knowledge for various reasons, which have a huge impact on the level of effort to build uniqueness (personal branding). The same thing is also found in the research function, but in this section there are several lecturers who feel that they do research not based on science but according to their passion. Not much different from teaching and research, in the function of community service, the same thing is also found. Another finding is that a lecturer conducts community service by lecturing or preaching. This phenomenon happens because of the reason that they come from an Islamic campus so they are required to do service by means of preaching.
