Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of students who lack self-confidence when communicating with teachers and peers, because of their lack of self-confidence students are afraid and hesitant to speak and this can be an obstacle to communicating. Lack of skills when communicating such as listening, speaking clearly, and reading other people's expressions. This research aims to:describe the picture of student interpersonal communication, describe the picture of student interpersonal communication in terms of gender. This research uses a quantitative approach with comparative descriptive quantitative type. The population of this study consisted of 523 students and the research sample was 227 students with engineeringproportionate stratifiedrandom sampling. The instrument used is the interpersonal communication scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive techniques and to see differences using the t-test. The research results revealed that interpersonal communication among students was in the high category with an average achievement score of 52.86%.There is no significant difference in interpersonal communication between male and female students. The role of guidance and counseling teachers is very necessary to help develop students' interpersonal communication through information services, individual counseling services, and group guidance services for guidance and counseling teachers or school counselors in order to improve students' interpersonal communication.

Abstract

The Family Hope Program (PKH) has been running since 2011. PKH aims to break the chain of poverty, and improve the quality of human resources through education and health. PKH is also one of the social assistance programs relied on by the government through various new policies to ease the burden on PKH participants. The focus of the problem to be achieved in this study is how effective the Family Hope Program (PKH) is. The methodology used in this study is quantitative descriptive by collecting data using observations, interviews, and questionnaires. The data sources obtained include primary and secondary data. The results of research in the field show that PKH in Mount Sarik is not effective in its implementation. This is influenced by several inhibiting factors such as data, errors in data collection and determination of recipients, low awareness of PKH participants, and unproductive use of funds.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the earthquake hazard levels in Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra Province, by identifying the Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA) values and the distribution of earthquake hazard levels. The type of research used is quantitative descriptive analysis and spatial analysis. The method employed in this study is Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Analysis (PSHA). To determine the Peak Ground Acceleration values, parameters such as earthquake location, occurrence time, and earthquake magnitude are used. For determining the earthquake hazard distribution, data on Ground Amplification Factor (GAF) is utilized. The results of this study show that the distribution of Peak Ground Acceleration in the study area ranges from 0.17 g to 0.93 g. The value of 0.17 g is found in Koto XI Tarusan District, while the highest value is observed in Silaut District. Additionally, the distribution of earthquake hazard levels shows that areas with low hazard level cover 697.04 km², moderate hazard level covers 4150.49 km², and high hazard level covers 1201.81 km². This study provides earthquake hazard maps that can be used for mitigation and planning in the region.

Abstract

The difficulty of adapting experienced by students of UIN Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukitinggi, especially those from outside West Sumatra, is predicted to be caused by culture shock. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between culture shock and self-adjustment of new students from outside West Sumatra in the Guidance and Counseling Study Program. The type of quantitative research with correlation analysis techniques. The sample was all students outside West Sumatra, Guidance and Counseling Study Program, class of 2023, totaling 40 students. The sampling technique used the total sampling technique. The research instrument was a questionnaire modified by the researcher. To see the relationship between culture shock and self-adjustment of UIN Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi, the researcher used the Product Moment Test. The results of the study showed a significant relationship between culture shock and self-adjustment. This is indicated by a negative r value of -.375 at the r value and a significant value of p 0.017 <0.05. This states that the hypothesis is accepted so that it can be concluded that there is a negative relationship between culture shock and self-adjustment in new students class of 2023 in the Guidance and Counseling Study Program, UIN Bukittinggi. The level of culture shock experienced by new students of the 2023 intake in the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at UIN Bukittinggi is 6 students in the high category (15.0%), 28 students in the medium category (85.0%), and 6 students in the low category (15.0%). Meanwhile, the level of self-adjustment of new students of the 2023 intake in the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at UIN Bukittinggi is 4 students in the high category (10.0%), 27 students in the medium category (67.5%), and 9 students in the low category (22.5%).

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of smartphone use on class XI students' interest in learning at MAN 1 Sijunjung. This type of research is case study research. The research was carried out in 2024. The population of this research was class XI students at MAN 1 Sijunjung. The total population was 115 students. Data was collected using a questionnaire and tested using simple linear regression analysis. The independent variable was smartphone use, while the dependent variable was students' interest in learning. The data analysis technique used is the prerequisite analysis test which includes normality test and linearity test, simple linear regression test and hypothesis test. The research results show that: Based on the results of research analysis regarding simple linear regression calculations between smartphone use and interest in learning, it is known that the significant value is 001<0.05, which means that smartphone use has an effect on interest in learning. Based on the calculation, the correlation between smartphone use and interest in learning is rcount>rtable (0.572>0.181), so it can be said that there is a positive and significant relationship between variable X (smartphone use) and variable Y (interest in learning). Therefore, the proposed hypothesis is declared accepted.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the relationship between emotional maturity and aggressive behavior in class This type of research is quantitative with correlational research methods. The research population was 354 people, with a sample of 188 people taken using a proportional random sampling technique. The instrument in this study used an emotional maturity scale whose validity had been tested with 19 items with a reliability coefficient of -0.864 and an aggressive behavior scale whose validity had been tested was 27 items. with a reliability coefficient of 0.969. Data analysis uses the Person Product Moment Correlation formula with an error tolerance of 5% using statistical programs on the computer SPSS 23 and Microsoft Excel. Based on the hypothesis results, the rcount value is -0.864, while the rtable value is 0.142, So there is a negative relationship between emotional maturity and students' aggressive behavior.

Abstract

This This research aims to determine the relationship between online game addiction and the learning motivation of class XI students at SMK Negeri 3 Mukomuko. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative correlational. The population in this study was 127 people. The sampling technique used was stratified random sampling, resulting in a total sample of 96 people. Based on the instrument used in data collection in this research, it is a questionnaire prepared according to the Likert scale model. Data analysis was carried out using SPSS and Microsoft Excel. Based on the research results, the rcount value is 0.837 > rtable 0.198, it can be concluded that there is a significant connection between online game addiction and the learning motivation of class XI students at SMK Negeri 3 Mukomuko.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between Career Decision Making Self-Efficacy and Career Indecision in Students of SMK Negeri 3 Padang. This type of research is quantitative correlational. The sample of this study was 223 students of SMK Negeri 3 Padang. The data collection method is the Career Decision Making Self-Efficacy and Career Indecision scales which are analyzed by Pearson's correlation test, namely the product moment correlation technique. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, the value of r = -0.326 and the value of p = 0.000 are obtained, indicating that there is a significant negative relationship between Career Decision Making Self-Efficacy and Career Indecision in Students of SMK Negeri 3 Padang.

Abstract

Academic burnout is a feeling of tiredness and boredom in doing tasks, pessimism about the functions assigned, and feeling ineffective as a student. The impact of academic burnout on students is the deterioration of their physical, mental, and psychological condition which can cause students to feel full and tired of doing their assignments, proposals, or theses which can result in neglect and delay in their tasks. This research aims to find out the contribution of self-efficacy to academic burnout in final semester students at Padang State University. The quantitative method is used for this research with a descriptive quantitative research type. The population for this study consisted of final semester students at Padang State University class 2018 and 2019. The sampling technique used for this study was purposive sampling with a total sample size of 95 people. The research instrument used is the Maslach Burnout Inventory Student-Survey Scale adapted into Indonesian by Arlinkasari et al. (2017) and the General Self-Efficacy Scale adapt by Novrianto et al. (2019). Hypothesis testing was carried out using simple regression analysis with a correlation coefficient (r) = -0.207 and significant results p = 0.045, meaning that there is a negative significant influence between self-efficacy on academic burnout in final semester students. It can be concluded that the higher the self-efficacy of final semester students at Padang State University, the lower the academic burnout.

Abstract

The covid-19 pandemic that occurred has hit all sectors in the life of the nation and state. The education sector is no exception. The hope that the development of education, which was initially echoed, would continue to advance in the coming years, immediately disappeared. The quality of education seems to have reversed course to a path of great decline, along with slowing economic growth and the outbreak of social problems in society. Likewise at SMP Negeri 5 Kerinci, there was a change in the learning system during the pandemic from online to offline again, a change in the assessment implementation system from online to offline again and a new strategy to be implemented by the Cultural Arts teacher to assess student learning outcomes then the teacher carried out the exam with an offline system but there was not enough time. The purpose of this study is to describe the teacher's strategy in carrying out assessments to ensure the accuracy of student learning outcomes in cultural arts learning (dance) in class VII SMP Negeri 5 Kerinci. The type of research is qualitative research with a case study design. The object of research or research target studied is the strategy of assessing student learning outcomes carried out by teachers in cultural arts learning (dance) in the online / offline learning system which can ensure the accuracy and accuracy of student learning outcomes in class VII SMP Negeri 5 Kerinci in the even semester of the 2020/2021 school year. Based on the results of the research, Cultural Arts Learning at SMP Negeri 5 Kerinci takes place with a Hybrib Learning system where this learning still holds face-to-face meetings with a two-shift system with health protocols, but with limited time subject teachers use textbooks to study then synchronize through face-to-face at school. Based on the results of the analysis, the highest level of accuracy in Dance learning lies in the assessment of skills by using a performance assessment system, performance assessment is a strategy used by Cultural Arts (Dance) teachers in Class VII which can be said to be accurate and guaranteed by the teacher's readiness to make instruments and assessment weights on practical exams.
