Abstract

This research was conducted due to several problems in speaking activity in the classroom, problems refer to the students’ feelings of anxiety to speak in the learning process. Based on the preliminary research, the researcher found that the students were anxious to speak in the classroom for some reasons like low of speaking aspects mastery and low of self-cofidence. In foreign language learning, students’ speaking ability can be affected by psychological factors. Thus, this research aimed to find out the factors that cause students’ speaking anxiety. This research was done in Al-Mumtaz Boarding School. The design of this research was descriptive qualitative research. In order to collect the data, the researcher used non-participative observation and semi-structured interview as the instruments. The population of this research was all the seventh grade students of Al-Mumtaz Boarding School which consists of four classes, one boy’s class and three girls’ classes. The researcher used purposive sampling to get the sample for the observation because all the populations had same characteristics. The observation’s sample consist of two classes, one boy’s class and one girl’s class. Then, the researcher used snowball sampling to get the sample for the interview. There were fourteen students who were interviewed in this research. The result showed that there were several factors that cause students’ speaking anxiety at seventh grade of Al-Mumtaz Boarding school, either on boy’s class or girl’s class. Those factors are fear of negative responses from the others, low of self-confidence, fear of making mistakes and low of speaking aspects mastery (pronounciation, comprehension and vocabulary). In conclusion, there were four factors that cause students’ speaking anxiety at seventh grade of Al-Mumtaz Boarding School.

Abstract

Needs analysis is an important stage that is carried out at the beginning of the learning process. This study aims to analyze the learning needs of grade 3 students at SD Negeri Cikokol. The design of this research is descriptive qualitative. The information needed in this study was obtained from observation and interviews. The respondent in answering is the third grade teacher. The stages in the needs analysis are observing the teacher's learning and teaching process in the classroom, and conducting interviews with teachers. The results of this study are in the form of a report on the learning needs of grade 3 students at SD Negeri Cikokol which shows that students need more digital teaching materials in the form of modules so that they can support learning activities. The results of this study are expected to be a reference for teachers and schools as material for consideration in carrying out teaching and learning processes that suit the needs of students.

Abstract

Evaluation is a process of making a decision based on the results of an assessment. Evaluation will always be in the teaching and learning process. Summative evaluation is a form of assessment that is commonly known and used by teachers in schools. Evaluation will always be used in the school environment, both SD, SMP, and SMA/SMK to find out and assess the progress of students. Summative evaluation is a type of evaluation used to determine student achievement at the end of learning. Summative evaluation at the elementary and secondary education levels aims to assess the achievement of learning objectives and/or Learning Outcomes (CP) of students, as a basis for determining grade increases and/or graduation from educational units. To find out the learning outcomes of students in learning Islamic religious education, the teacher must have knowledge about the evaluation of learning outcomes, including the methods and steps for evaluating learning outcomes, so that the completed evaluation can be measured.

Abstract

The low level of education in Indonesia can be caused by the low human resources in Indonesian education, namely educators or teachers who do not have professionalism in carrying out their duties. Educational supervision is one way that can be taken in improving the quality of education through career development or the professionalism of a teacher. Educational supervision leads to improvement of educational problems through guiding, supervising, guiding and directing teachers to be professional in their field to improve education and fix problems in education. Educational Supervision assists teachers in making plans in the learning process so as to produce the desired output in learning. The purpose of writing this article is to examines educational supervision in increasing teacher professionalism. The type of method for writing this article uses the literature study method, namely in the form of a series of library activities that relating to methods of gathering information, reading and taking notes, as well as managing research materials. Based on research studies, it was obtained several results that educational supervision consists of two parts, namely managerial supervision and academic supervision. Managerial supervision is in the form of educational supervision with monitoring activities carried out by high school supervisors the performance of school principals in school management, while academic supervision focuses on supervising and monitoring teacher performance in carrying out their duties. The two sections of educational supervision are interrelated, so that in order to obtain quality education through teachers who have professionalism, these two sections of educational supervision must done together.

Abstract

In Belinteng Village, Se Bingai District, Langkat Regency, the Mbesur-mbesur tradition is still often carried out by the Karo people. symbolized in the foods served by family members. the type of research used in writing this research is descriptive qualitative type. Descriptive qualitative is research where the researcher is placed as a key instrument, data collection techniques are carried out by combining and inductive data analysis. The results of this study indicate that Islamic law applies to the implementation of the mbesur-mbesuri tradition in Belinteng Village, Sei Bingai District, Langkat Regency. That in the mbesur-mbesuri tradition it can be done, what is important is that people do not believe in the symbols associated with the mbesur-mbesuri tradition. Mbesur-mbesuri is also a manifestation of gratitude to Allah SWT. So that with these mbesuri, the community does one manifestation of gratitude and prays and hopes for something good that will be obtained. In addition, it is a legacy from the ancestral culture. The hope that is expected in the mbesur-mbesuri procession is achieved by worship that has been determined in the Shari'a.

Abstract

This study aims: to determine the increase in student learning activity in social studies learning with the discussion method in Class VII.F of SMP Negeri 12 Mataram in the 2022/2023 academic year. This research was designed using Classroom Action Research. The subjects in this study were class VII.F students of SMP Negeri 12 Mataram, totaling 32 people, consisting of 16 female students and 16 male students. While the research procedure goes through the stages of Planning, Action Implementation, Observation, and reflection. The results showed that: Data on student learning outcomes in IPS learning using discussion mode increased from the initial data obtained 65.63% classical completeness, increased to 71.88% in cycle I, to 81.25% in cycle II to 100% in cycle III. So student learning outcomes in social studies learning using the discussion method conducted by the teacher are very good. Teaching and learning activities carried out by the teacher experienced an increase from the acquisition of a score of 26 (72.23%) in cycle I, to 29 (80.56) in cycle II, to 32 (88.89) in cycle III. Student learning activities, it can be described that the average percentage in the first cycle is 66.67%. But in cycle II, student learning activities increased to 77.78% in cycle III, and to 86.11%. So student learning activities in social studies learning are good.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the results of implementing group study in improving the learning outcomes of Indonesian language students in Class VIII.F at SMP Negeri 12 Mataram in the academic year 2022/2023. This research is a classroom action research. The subjects in this study were 33 students of class VIII.F SMP Negeri 12 Mataram with 19 male students and 14 female students. Data collection techniques used are observation, documentation, and tests. Observations are used to collect data on learning interest. The test is used to measure learning achievement in Indonesian subjects. Data analysis used is descriptive qualitative and descriptive quantitative. The increase in students' cognitive learning outcomes before and after the implementation of group learning at SMP Negeri 12 Mataram can be seen from the percentage gain of each indicator, namely: The average value of the initial data students obtained 73.98% increased to 80.15 in cycle I and obtained 88.06 in cycle II. While students who completed the data of 23 people then obtained 27 in cycle I and experienced an increase to 33 people in cycle II with each classical completeness obtained initial data of 69.64% to 81.82% in cycle I and increased to 100% in cycle II, this shows that all the indicators expected by the researcher on the reading ability of class I students were successfully achieved. Lesson planning carried out by the teacher increased from 75.00% in cycle I and 85.00% in cycle II. So the lesson planning carried out by the teacher is very good. While the implementation of learning carried out by the teacher also experienced an increase from 79.17% in cycle I to 87.50% in cycle II. So the implementation of learning carried out by the teacher has also increased. Student learning activities that the average percentage in the first cycle is 80.00%. But in cycle II, student learning activities increased to 90.00%. So student learning activities in learning Indonesian are good.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out: Students' understanding of learning Mathematics before applying the constructivism approach in class VIII.G of SMP Negeri 12 Mataram in the academic year 2022/2023; The student learning process in learning Mathematics uses a constructivism approach in each class cycle VIII.G SMP Negeri 12 Mataram for the 2022/2023 academic year; Increasing students' understanding of learning Mathematics through the application of a constructivism approach in each class cycle VIII.G of SMP Negeri 12 Mataram for the 2022/2023 academic year. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR), using two cycles through the planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. As subjects in this study were class VIII.G students for the 2022/2023 academic year with a total of 32 students, consisting of 17 male students and 15 female students. The results of the study were obtained from 32 students who took the class average score test before the action 72.09 or 59.38% classical completeness, to 74.69 or 74.69% classical completeness in cycle I, increased to an average of 78.19 or 96.88% in cycle II. From cycle I to cycle II and has shown the application of the constructivism approach can improve understanding and learning outcomes of Class VIII.G students of SMP Negeri 12 Mataram.

Abstract

The objectives of this classroom action research were: (1) To find out the application of the mind mapping model to improve the ability to write Procedure Text for English subjects for Class IX.B SMP Negeri 6 Mataram Academic Year 20222/2023; (2) To find out the increase in the ability to write Procedure Text for English subjects through the application of the Mind Mapping model for Class IX.B students of SMP Negeri 6 Mataram in the Academic Year 2022/2023. This study used three rounds of action research. Each round consists of four stages: design, activity and observation, reflection, and revision. The target of this research was students of Class IX.B SMP Negeri 6 Mataram with a total of 38 students consisting of 16 boys and 22 girls. The data obtained is in the form of formative test results, observation sheets of teaching and learning activities. The results of the study proved that there was an increase in the English subject's procedure text writing skills as follows: The learning achievements of students in English subjects were as follows: the average value before the action was 85.74, in the first cycle 85.82 was obtained and the average value was average in cycle II obtained 88.47. The same thing happened to the increase in the number of students who reached the minimum completion limit (> 80), namely before the action 26 students (68.42%), who completed in cycle I were 31 students (81.58%) and in cycle II increased to 38 students (100%).

Abstract

This study intends to (1) identify the features of language in a middle-aged mother named Pini's suicide will in Talang Village, Sendang District, Tulung Agung on October 23, 2022, and (2) identify the motive for suicide in this case. This study is a qualitative descriptive study that analyzes language aspects using Osslon's (2008) forensic linguistics theory. The investigation yielded (1) the language elements in Pani's suicide will, written by a 41-year-old woman in Tulungagung, were a text structure with certain characteristics that are common in suicide notes, as stated by prokofyeva (2013), there were many spelling, punctuation, and letter errors capital, the use of the pronoun 'aku', and grammar which used a lot of declarative sentences (commands), and some of the emotions implied by the words in the will show emotions of doubt, despair, and the actors' desperation stems from a lack of self-control in the face of unforeseen occurrences. In this scenario, it's conceivable that she was stressed out because her ex-husband remarried. (2) While the perpetrator's suicide was considered to be motivated by mental problems such as depression. This could be seen in various word choices that demonstrated the players' desperation as a result of their inability to control themselves in unforeseen situations. In this scenario, it's conceivable that she was stressed out because her ex-husband remarried. Furthermore, the offender feels alone and without family support; this is classified as egoistic suicide due to a lack of social engagement with people closest to them.
