Abstract

The article examines political science development through historical and philosophical analysis to understand how the discipline has evolved its paradigms and methodological debates. The research starts by showing how political science evolved from its origins in Plato and Aristotle through the creation of contemporary Western and Eastern political systems. The research problem examines how different philosophical traditions and discourses have formed political science as a distinct field of study which leads to essential disagreements between researchers who focus on empirical transformations versus those who focus on ethical preservation. The research aims to establish a complete understanding of political science development through an analysis of its conceptual roots and historical impacts and philosophical interactions. The research uses critical qualitative analysis to study political science development through a combination of essential literature review and historical and comparative case study evaluation. The research shows that political science continues to exhibit methodological pluralism through its combination of empirical research with philosophical analysis. The article shows that constructivist and historical–causal frameworks serve as crucial tools for understanding political phenomena because they reveal their dynamic nature and their contested and context-dependent characteristics. The research demonstrates that contemporary governance challenges and ethical questions require interdisciplinary and reflexive approaches which support a political science that combines historical understanding with forward-looking analysis to remain relevant in the twenty-first century.

Abstract

This study investigates the narrative transformation of KKN di Desa Penari as it migrated across multiple media platforms, illustrating how local stories are reinterpreted within Indonesia’s hybrid digital ecosystem. Originating as a Twitter thread, the narrative evolved into novels, films, and user-generated content, reflecting the dynamic interplay between intertextuality, adaptation, remediation, and participatory culture. While previous studies have addressed digital folklore or single-medium adaptations, few have explored how a single narrative transforms holistically across platforms through both formal production and audience engagement. The purpose of this study was to analyze how KKN di Desa Penari was reshaped through cross-platform adaptation, cultural negotiation, and participatory practices. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach with intertextual analysis, the research drew data from primary sources (Twitter thread, novel, film, memes, fan art, TikTok videos, YouTube commentary) and secondary literature. The findings reveal that each medium reconfigured the narrative in distinct ways: Twitter fostered fragmented, speculative storytelling; the novel embedded local moral codes; the film remediated the story into visual spectacle; and user-generated content extended the narrative through reinterpretation and cultural commentary. This study contributes to understanding how local narratives achieve longevity and cultural relevance through digital convergence and audience co-creation.

Abstract

All K12 graduates in Cambodia must choose the suitable university for furthering their study. Therefore, this study analyzes why the majority of BELTEI International School (BELTEI IS) alumni chose other universities over BELTEI International University (BELTEI IU), despite the institutional relationship. BELTEI IS is one of Cambodia's largest private school networks, while BELTEI IU, its higher education equivalent, provides degrees in 13 faculties and 45 specialties. However, only a tiny fraction of BELTEI IS graduates (11% at Campus 1 and 5% at Campus 2) enrolled at BELTEI IU for the 2024-2025 academic year. This phenomenological research, which used purposive sampling and in-depth semi-structured interviews with 80 BELTEI IS graduates, investigates the factors that influence their university decisions. According to the findings, students chose other schools mostly because of perceived better employment prospects (14.8%), family/friend recommendations (12.7%), and a higher reputation/ranking (11.3%). BELTEI IS staff had little impact over these decisions (82.5% indicated no influence). Participants stressed the importance of BELTEI IU offering a distinctive campus atmosphere, advanced academic programs, greater research and innovation possibilities, and improved teaching quality. They also stressed the need for a student-centered approach, greater career assistance, and budgetary transparency. These elements, together with university culture and value offer, are critical in decision-making for future professional success.

Abstract

Cambodia's higher education institutions focus quality improvement. As a result, this research investigates quality enhancement for long-term growth at private higher education institutions (HEIs) in North-Eastern Cambodia, with a particular emphasis on graduate quality and labor market skill mismatches. The major purpose was to look at quality management components that encourage HEI quality improvement. A cross-sectional quantitative technique was used to collect data from 384 respondents. The theoretical framework specifies Quality Management, Quality in Education, Enhancement, Quality Assurance, and Quality Assessment, with an emphasis on curriculum standards, qualified individuals, and effective leadership. The findings revealed overwhelmingly positive perceptions of various quality management dimensions, including educational management, academic curriculum, academic staff and teaching strategies, student assessment, facilities and support staff, collaborations, financial management, internal quality assessment, and external quality assessment. Predictors accounted for 84.5% of the variation in HEI Quality Enhancement (R-squared =.845, p <.001). Student assessment had the most beneficial influence, followed by internal and external quality assessments, facilities and support personnel, and partnerships. Correlation analysis found significant dependency among these factors. A SWOT analysis identified strengths (internal quality assurance, leadership), weaknesses (resource constraints, data management), opportunities (external validation, collaboration), and threats (regulatory changes, economic pressures). This study highlights the need of quality improvement in Cambodian higher education institutions (HEIs), focusing on student evaluation, quality assurance, infrastructure, and strategic alliances. Future research should focus on multicollinearity, factors having non-significant effects, and bigger qualitative or comparative investigations.

Abstract

Even tough mobile payment has been increasing adopted in Cambodia, there is a lack of business and academic study on the building of the conceptual model. This academic article systematically reviews factors influencing user satisfaction and continuance intention for mobile payment applications in Cambodia. It integrates the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), along with other constructs like perceived service quality, credibility, compatibility, and perceived risk. The research emphasizes user satisfaction as a crucial mediator for sustained engagement, noting Cambodia's rapid adoption of mobile payments due to government initiatives. The study concludes by proposing a conceptual model and outlining research methodology involving document analysis and thematic synthesis of scholarly papers, all factors have a significant impact on user satisfaction and continuance intention to adopt mobile payment; however, perceived risk has a negative impact on both user satisfaction and continuance intention. These findings open floor for future study by using a certain sophisticated statistical tool.

Abstract

The emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) as a source of insight invites its characterization as a "digital oracle," a metaphor with particular resonance in Africa where traditions of divination are deeply embedded. This analogy, however, raises critical questions regarding the understanding, legitimacy, and governance of such systems. This paper employs a multidisciplinary approach, integrating contemporary AI ethics with African philosophy and religious perspectives, to analyze this metaphor. Using the prophetic figure central to Yoruba Ifá divination as a comparative framework, we contrast the communal, symbolically interpreted guidance of traditional oracles (Bascom, 1969) with AI's data-driven predictions, which often lack moral authority and community accountability. In response, we propose that the Ubuntu philosophy, grounded in relational humanity and moral duty, provides a vital corrective. The analysis is structured around four lenses: (1) epistemic opacity and interpretive authority; (2) relational personhood and communal responsibility; (3) spiritual and moral discernment; and (4) decolonial governance. We argue that AI should not be considered an autonomous philosophical oracle but can serve as a valuable decision-support tool when consciously embedded within robust systems of ethics, interpretation, and community. The paper concludes by advocating for AI development guided by Ubuntu ethics, the inclusion of religious thought, and formal decolonial governance. This approach seeks to transform AI into a context-aware tool that serves humanity, rather than an unaccountable digital predictor.

Abstract

African Traditional Religion (ATR) is based on symbolic systems that reflect cosmology, ethics, spirituality and social order, which are represented through divination, rituals, proverbs, sacred objects as well as texts such as Yoruba Ifa verses. Scholars nowadays focus not only on their multivocal character but also on their epistemic and moral functions: symbols act as organs of knowledge no less than objects of cultural artefacts. AI tools, by symbolically representing that knowledge, through ontologies and explainable learning, provide means to decode, and maintain such sacred systems cultural sensitively. Indicatively, the article Preserving Indigenous Knowledge: Leveraging Digital Technology and Artificial Intelligence describes the way interactive platforms and AI-based applications preserve indigenous knowledge, without violating cultural guidelines and intellectual property rights. Using Classical Machine Learning and Deep Learning, Adinkra Symbol Recognition in Ghana was highly accurate in classifying Adinkra symbols. The results of the studies indicate that AI can improve preservation, access, and learning; however, it is unable to reproduce spiritual intention and group validation. Such ethical concerns as reductionism, digital colonialism, and cultural ownership are not new to the recent literature. This paper thus suggests an alternative approach in which AI would be used to supplement AIR custodianship to make sure that the knowledge is not stale, but dynamic, secure, and useful in the digital era.

Abstract

The integration of digital technologies into education has emerged as a transformative strategy for addressing challenges in Pakistani private schools. This research investigates the effectiveness of digital tools in designing inclusive and impactful learning plans, employing theoretical frameworks such as TPACK, SAMR, and the 5E instructional model. The study examines how these tools enhance curriculum delivery and student engagement, with a specific focus on platforms like Padlet, Nearpod, and FigJam. This qualitative research utilised a sample of 20 Grade 2 students and 31 teachers from private schools, chosen for their established yet diverse technological infrastructure. The mixed-methods approach included surveys, semi-structured interviews, and classroom observations to evaluate the application and impact of digital technologies. The study also explored how these tools align with educational objectives and cater to varying learner needs. Key findings reveal that digital technologies significantly enhance collaboration, critical thinking, and differentiated learning experiences, particularly benefiting visual and auditory learners. However, challenges such as inconsistent internet access, limited resources, and varying teacher competencies were identified. The research proposes actionable strategies to address these barriers, including professional development for educators, improved infrastructure, and tailored digital solutions. This study highlights the critical role of digital tools in fostering scalable and inclusive learning environments. It underscores the need for sustained investment in technology integration and teacher training to ensure equitable access and maximise the potential of digital education in resource-constrained contexts. Future implications suggest adopting innovative models and policies to bridge digital divide and enhance learning outcomes across diverse educational settings.

Abstract

The Japanese concept of Kawaii often translated as “cute” or “adorable” has become an emblem of Japan’s global cultural identity. However, beyond its surface charm, Kawaii encapsulates a profound cultural discourse that intertwines emotion, gender, and power. This paper examines the shifting semantics and cultural functions of Kawaii from the Showa period to the Reiwa era, revealing how its meaning evolved from a symbol of fragile innocence to one of empowerment and diversity. Employing a qualitative and multimodal approach, the research draws from historical media artifacts such as Shoujo no Tomo (Girls’ Companion) magazine and contemporary visual representations alongside intergenerational interviews. The findings suggest that Kawaii functions as both a linguistic and ideological framework through which Japanese femininity, consumer identity, and self-expression are negotiated. Ultimately, Kawaii emerges as a dynamic aesthetic category that reflects broader sociocultural transformations, particularly the reconfiguration of gender and affect in modern Japan.

Abstract

This study examines the dynamics of authorship, anonymity, and power in Kathryn Stockett’s The Help (2009) and its 2011 film adaptation through the theoretical frameworks of Roland Barthes and Michel Foucault. Employing qualitative textual analysis, the research explores how authorial identity operates within narratives of racial oppression and how anonymity functions simultaneously as a form of protection and erasure. The findings reveal that while Barthes’ notion of the “death of the author” appears to liberate interpretive authority from the creator, Foucault’s concept of the author-function persists as a regulatory mechanism that governs discourse, authorship, and social recognition. In both novel and film, collective authorship emerges as an ideal yet remains undermined by structural hierarchies that privilege white voices. The adaptation’s shift in narrative perspective further demonstrates how medium and ideology shape the representation of authorship. Ultimately, the study concludes that authorship in The Help cannot be separated from power relations and continues to reflect broader questions of voice, legitimacy, and social inequality.
