Abstract

The story of Kancil and Crocodile is a fairy tale that is often read by children. This study analyzes the moral impact of the fairy tale "Kancil and Crocodile" on the development of children's character, especially those aged six years. The story of the clever Kancil and the strong Crocodile, where Kancil uses his cunning to deceive Crocodile in order to achieve his goals. This study aims to analyze the impact of this story on the formation of children's character, especially related to the moral and ethical values ​​contained in the story. Through a qualitative approach, the researcher found that although Kancil showed cleverness in dealing with problems, his deceptive actions could provide an example of negative behavior for children. This has the potential to affect their way of thinking about honesty and social ethics. The results of the study indicate that this story has good and bad potential, so that they can distinguish between right and wrong actions. In addition, this story teaches values ​​such as cooperation and empathy through the experience of Crocodile who feels cheated. Thus, although there are negative aspects of Kancil's cunning, there are also positive lessons that can be taken for children's character development.

Abstract

The tradition of eating badulang is an important part of the culture of the people of Kampar Regency, especially in Kuok District, Riau Province. This activity involves a group of people together enjoying a meal served on a dulang (large container), as a symbol of togetherness and kinship. This article aims to explore the meaning, process and changes in the implementation of the tradition of eating badulang at Rumah Lontiok, a traditional house that has high historical and cultural value. The method used in writing this article is literature analysis. The results of the analysis show that the tradition of eating badulang is not only a social activity, but also a means of preserving local cultural values, strengthening social relations between residents, and creating a sense of togetherness in society. However, as time goes by, this tradition faces challenges in maintaining its sustainability amidst the current of modernization.

Abstract

Using the example of Lontiok's house on Belimbing Island, this article discusses the philosophy and meaning of "Silat Perisai" in welcoming Riau Malay guests. In Riau Malay tradition, welcoming guests is a form of respect that has cultural value and symbolism that is more than just a social formality. Silat Perisai, a traditional martial art, has philosophical meanings such as balance, protection and respect for guests besides functioning as physical exercise. This article explains how each movement in "Silat Shield" illustrates the principles of life respected by Malay society and its role in maintaining the honor and dignity of the community. Through the example of how the Lontiok Pulau Belimbing house welcomes guests, this article emphasizes the importance of "Silat Perisai" in building relationships and preserving Silat Perisai" to strengthen community relations and maintain Riau Malay cultural values. Silat shield in the life of Malay society. Silat, which is a martial arts style, is also a tradition that has close ties to the values ​​of community life. Silat itself is a reflection of the cultural values ​​of the area. Silat shield is a symbol of struggle and courage as well as a symbol of protection from all dangers. The fighters are taught skills in swordsmanship with the aim of having the skills to face threats from enemies who use similar weapons. Not only, perceived skills but also about personality. Some of the characteristics that are felt in Silat Shield are discipline and alertness. Not only that, but Silat Shield also emphasizes and prioritizes politeness, cleanliness and honesty. These values ​​are what continue to be maintained in the preservation of Silat Shield and of course this is not an easy thing.

Abstract

The preservation of Malay culture, particularly through the philosophy of the Lontiok house, plays a significant role in maintaining the cultural identity and traditional values of the community. The Lontiok house, as a symbol of Malay culture, serves not only as a dwelling but also reflects the community's close relationship with nature and spirituality. This study aims to explore how the philosophy of the Lontiok house is preserved in Pulau Belimbing Village through the cultural practices in the local community. The research employs a qualitative approach, focusing on an in-depth understanding of the cultural phenomena that exist in the village. Data were gathered through direct observation, interviews with local residents, and relevant literature review. The findings show that the preservation of the Lontiok house in Pulau Belimbing Village is carried out not only through the construction and maintenance of the traditional house but also through cultural education, traditional ceremonies, and the development of culture-based tourism. The study also reveals that the community plays an active role in preserving and passing on the philosophy contained in the Lontiok house to the younger generation, ensuring the continuity of Malay cultural heritage. It is hoped that the results of this study can contribute to the future preservation of Malay culture and introduce the uniqueness of local culture to the outside world.

Abstract

This article examines the history of the development of the education system in Myanmar, from the pre-colonial era to the modern era. Myanmar has an education system influenced by Buddhist monasteries and British colonialism. The current education system covers elementary to high levels which is managed by the government. However, discrimination against minority groups, particularly Muslims, as well as infrastructure and policy challenges, hinder educational equity. This article also discusses the curriculum structure, levels of education, and the main challenges in equitable education in Myanmar.

Abstract

Community Reading Park (TBM) for children's education and interest in reading inSambungo Village, Silaut District, Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra. This discussion focuses on examining the extent of TBM's role in improving the quality of education and fostering a culture of literacy among children in rural areas. Learning at TBM has a positive impact on children's educational development, which is characterized by increased interest in reading, literacy skills and academic achievement. Excellent programs such as interactive fairy tales, reading clubs, and tutoring are effective in creating a pleasant learning atmosphere. The influence of learning activities at the Community Reading Garden (TBM) on children's education and interest in reading in Sambungo Village, Silaut District, Pesisir Selatan Regency , (1) increasing children's academic achievement at school, especially in reading ability and reading comprehension; (2) development of independent reading habits among children; (3) increasing children's literacy skills and general knowledge through various interactive learning activities at TBM; and (4) more time spent reading.

Abstract

This study aims to see and find out how the comparative analysis of the education system in the United States and Indonesia. The focus of this study is to see the match of education in America with Indonesia. The method used in this study is a literature review and the internet. This article aims to analyze the comparison of the education system between the United States and Indonesia. In this study, a study was conducted on various important aspects of the education systems of both countries, including the curriculum, education structure, government policies, and the quality of human resources in the education sector. Using a comparative approach, this article identifies the advantages and disadvantages of each system, as well as their influence on the development of education and the quality of human resources. The results of the analysis show that although the United States has a more flexible education system with higher innovation, Indonesia still faces major challenges in terms of education equity and teaching quality. This article is expected to provide useful insights for education policy makers in both countries to improve the quality and effectiveness of the education system in the future.

Abstract

Literacy has an important role in preparing for a person's future because through good literacy skills, they can understand, analyze, and use information effectively. In the midst of the continuous development of the digital era, information is now spreading rapidly and can be easily reached through the internet and social media. Therefore, literacy is becoming increasingly important in understanding the available information. This study uses a descriptive method with a survey approach, involving respondents from various backgrounds to understand their digital literacy level. The results show that despite the increased awareness of the importance of digital literacy, there is still a significant gap in individuals' ability to use technology effectively. Literacy education integrated with technology is expected to provide solutions to improve people's skills in facing digital challenges. In addition, this article also emphasizes the importance of collaboration between educational institutions, the government, and the private sector to create inclusive and sustainable education programs. Thus, it is hoped that people can be better prepared to face the digital era and utilize technology to improve their quality of life

Abstract

One way to improve the welfare of street children through informal education is to build reading parks. This article discusses the function of reading parks in providing opportunities to learn something, prepare skills, and reveal the potential of street children, who often cannot access formal education. In addition to creating children with complex reading mechanisms, a place for play, and learning, they also provide a reduction in the risk of children usually engaging in risky activities such as child exploitation and crime. Apart from discussing the benefits, this article also explores the impact of reading gardens on children's self-concept, emotions and relationships as readers. Finally, the discussion concludes with the emphasis that reading gardens may be a necessary step to contend with superficial poverty and the long-term well-being of street children. This research was carried out by collecting data from previously existing journals, papers and articles, starting from a sense of concern for the educational needs of street children which are often neglected. The results of this research show that reading parks are not only a means of learning, but also provide hope and opportunities for street children to access inclusive education.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that has a serious impact on children's growth and development. Posyandu cadres have a crucial role in efforts to prevent stunting. This research aims to analyze the role of posyandu cadres in providing nutrition education, monitoring children's growth, and providing stimulation for children's development. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. The research results show that posyandu cadres have a very important role in providing nutritional education to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, monitoring children's growth regularly, and providing stimulation of children's development through posyandu activities. However, there are still several obstacles faced by posyandu cadres in carrying out their duties, such as lacck of knowleedge and skill, as well’s a limited resources.
