Abstract

This research aims to analyze students' needs for guidance and counseling (BK) services in higher education in order to improve students' mental well-being. The research method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR), by examining eight relevant scientific articles published between 2020 and 2025. Data sources were obtained through the ScienceDirect, ResearchGate, SpringerLink, and Google Scholar databases, using the keywords "guidance and counseling in higher education", "student well-being", and "counseling needs". The research procedure includes the stages of identification, selection, data extraction, and thematic synthesis to find consistent patterns and conclusions. The results show that students have a high need for BK services which include academic, social, career, and psychological aspects. BK services have proven to play an important role in helping students manage stress, increase self-awareness, develop resilience, and strengthen mental well-being. However, the implementation of BK services in universities still faces challenges, such as limited human resources, lack of student awareness of the function of BK, and lack of institutional support. Technology-based innovations, such as e-counseling and artificial intelligence (AI) integration, are considered to be able to expand access to services and increase the effectiveness of counseling, especially for students who are reluctant to do face-to-face counseling. This research confirms that BK services are a strategic component in the higher education system that supports the development of character and mental well-being of students. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the capacity of counselors, innovate technology-based services, and a holistic approach that integrates academic, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects.

Abstract

This study explores Islamic economics and business anthropology with a focus on the commercial ethics of the Minangkabau diaspora in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. The central problem addressed is the growing challenge faced by diaspora Muslim entrepreneurs in maintaining Islamic business ethics and cultural identity while navigating increasingly competitive market environments and multicultural business interactions. In Southeast Asia, cross-border trade among ethnic communities continues to expand, yet reports of declining ethical practice and weakened cultural ties in diaspora business networks raise concerns for the sustainability of moral economic conduct. These conditions underscore the urgency to investigate how traditional Islamic values and Minangkabau customs are preserved, negotiated, and transformed within contemporary business settings. This research aims to understand the internalization of Islamic values and Minangkabau adat within the business practices of migrant traders, as well as how these values adapt to Malaysian socio-cultural contexts. Employing a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis involving 10 key informants consisting of Minangkabau traders and community leaders in Negeri Sembilan. Thematic data analysis highlights the dynamic interplay between religious principles, customary norms, and economic behavior. Findings reveal that Minangkabau traders uphold Islamic business ethics through the values of honesty, trust, and ukhuwah, while simultaneously adjusting to local business norms and regulations. Their ethical approach forms a contextual model of entrepreneurship that balances spiritual commitments with economic pragmatism. This study contributes to the formulation of the concept of Islamic Entrepreneurial Diaspora, offering an integrative model for understanding how Islamic belief systems interact with local culture in cross-national economic practices. The discovery provides theoretical enrichment to Islamic business ethics discourse and demonstrates the enduring importance of local cultural values in navigating global commercial pressures.

Abstract

The implementation of Kurikulum Merdeka (Independent Curriculum) emphasizes contextual and meaningful learning as well as the strengthening of the Profil Pelajar Pancasila. However, empirical research on integrating Islamic values into a deep learning pedagogy within this curriculum remains limited. Addressing this gap, this study aims to: (1) evaluate the implementation of an Islamic-values-based deep learning approach in elementary education, (2) identify the forms of Islamic value internalization that emerge during the learning process, and (3) formulate challenges and recommendations for strengthening teacher competence. This descriptive qualitative study involved three teachers and 32 students at SDN 01 Pisang Baru, Lampung, using in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis. The findings indicate that the model effectively promotes reflective and collaborative learning and supports the internalization of Islamic values—such as honesty, responsibility, and empathy—through socially contextualized project activities. Teachers act as facilitators who connect academic concepts with the practical application of Islamic teachings. Nevertheless, several constraints were identified, including limited project time and teachers’ insufficient mastery of character-based authentic assessment. The study contributes theoretically by providing an empirical framework for integrating Islamic values into deep learning pedagogy within Kurikulum Merdeka, and practically by offering recommendations to improve teacher professionalism in 21st-century learning.

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam/PAI) learning through the SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual, Intellectual) model at SD Negeri 01 Pisang Baru in the Merdeka Belajar era. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the research explores how the SAVI model facilitates active, meaningful, and student-centered learning while promoting cognitive, affective, motoric, and spiritual development. Data were collected through interviews with the principal, PAI teachers, and students, complemented by classroom observations and document analysis. Findings indicate that the SAVI model enhances student engagement, motivation, and comprehension by integrating physical movement, auditory, visual, and intellectual activities into learning. However, challenges remain, including limited facilities, media resources, and the need for continuous teacher training. The study highlights the importance of aligning pedagogical innovation with Islamic educational values and contemporary curricular policies. Practically, it provides guidance for educators to implement multisensory approaches effectively and for schools to support sustainable pedagogical transformation. This research contributes to the discourse on active, embodied, and multisensory learning in Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam/PAI), offering insights for policy makers, practitioners, and future research.

Abstract

The contemporary educational landscape necessitates continuous innovation in management systems while remaining firmly grounded in Islamic sharīʿah values. This condition underscores the importance of integrating the modernization of educational management with normative religious principles. In response to this phenomenon, the present study seeks to examine how the transformation of educational management can be implemented from the perspective of Maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah. This research aims to analyze the process through which educational management undergoes transformation. Employing a qualitative approach with a field study design, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The data were analyzed through several stages, namely data reduction, data display, and the drawing of conclusions. Abstract

This study examines the integration of the Merdeka Curriculum with Islamic educational values at UPT SD Negeri 02 Serdang Kuring. Addressing the limited scholarly attention on Islamic-values integration at the primary-school level, this research employs a qualitative descriptive design using observation, interviews, and documentation analyzed through the Miles and Huberman model. The findings reveal that integration is implemented systematically through instructional planning, teacher modeling, student habituation, reinforcement of a religious school culture, and collaboration between teachers, school leaders, and parents, supported by the use of local wisdom as contextual grounding. This integration strengthens students’ character formation, particularly responsibility, honesty, discipline, and hard work, aligning with the Profile of Pancasila Students. The study’s novelty lies in identifying a collaborative, context-based integration pattern as an effective character education strategy. The results suggest the need for adaptable Islamic-values-based character education models within the Merdeka Curriculum for wider application in diverse school contexts.

Abstract

As access to religious information through digital media and libraries in Indonesia becomes more widespread, patterns of social communication among Muslims are facing new challenges in the form of the spread of uncurated information, differences in interpretation, and the potential for polarization. This situation highlights the need for an in-depth study of the dynamics of social communication among Muslims amid rapid social change. This study uses data collection techniques through in-depth searches of relevant library sources. Data was obtained from books on Islamic communication, library science literature, scientific journal articles, sociological theories, digital library repositories, religious institution reports, and research on da'wah media. All sources were selected systematically based on thematic relevance and scientific credibility. The results of the study show that the dynamics of social communication among Muslims in Indonesia are greatly influenced by library literacy and the flow of digital information. Expanded access to knowledge shapes the way people interact and understand religious teachings, while sociological perspectives explain how digital culture encourages more participatory communication patterns. This research provides a conceptual basis for the development of more adaptive religious information literacy, enabling the community to critically sort through information.
