The results indicate that the majority of students recognize the critical role of English in understanding economic concepts, accessing academic resources, and participating in discussions. Students also acknowledge the significance of English proficiency for career development, particularly for job opportunities in multinational companies and international organizations. However, many students face challenges in mastering technical economic vocabulary, reading English textbooks, writing academic reports, and comprehending English lectures. The findings highlight a strong demand for more specialized English courses, such as Business English or English for Specific Purposes (ESP), to better prepare students for the linguistic demands of the global economic sector. In conclusion, the study emphasizes the need for enhanced English language instruction tailored to the specific needs of Economics Education Department students at UHKBPNP. Incorporating practical and specialized English courses into the curriculum will enable students to achieve academic success and excel in their future careers in a globalized marketplace.

Abstract

The implementation of Law No. 35/2014 on Child Protection provides a legal framework to protect children from various forms of violence, including sexual violence. Nevertheless, there are still challenges in its implementation. According to the records of the Office of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning (DP3AP2KB) of West Sumatra Province, compiled from the information system on the protection of women and children has increased in the last 5 (five) years. This research aims to analyze the actors involved in the implementation of child protection in West Sumatra Province with data collection methods of documentation studies, interviews and FGDs, then the data is processed using a qualitative approach and a quantitative approach or known as a mixed approach. The approach uses the Miles and Huberman model and the mactor application. The theory used Advocacy Coalition Framework (ACF) and Pentahelix theory are two approaches that can complement each other in analyzing public policy. Meanwhile, Pentahelix emphasizes collaboration between five main actors: government, community, academia, business, and media. Combining these two theories can provide a deeper understanding of policy dynamics. The implementation of child protection policy implementation through pentahelik collaboration in factor analysis can be concluded that the actor who has a major influence is the government because the government is the actor who is in direct contact both in practical and policy aspects, all actors provide positive support, although the business world has not shown a collaborative relationship in the implementation of child protection, the government has the power to influence other actors, community/community collaboration is not strong enough to influence implementation.

Abstract

The incorporation of multimedia resources in physics education has become a crucial approach for improving student understanding by combining verbal and visual components. This investigation utilizes a mixed-methods design to assess the impact of multimedia tools on student participation and comprehension in physics courses. Quantitative information was gathered through assessments before and after the intervention, while qualitative data was obtained from student interviews and in-class observations. The study involved creating tailored multimedia materials, which were subsequently integrated into lessons. Quantitative data underwent statistical analysis, including paired t-tests, while qualitative findings were examined using thematic analysis. The results revealed a substantial increase in student engagement from 45% without multimedia to 85% with its use. Additionally, the post-test mean score (79.3 ± 8.81) exceeded the pre-test average (58.5 ± 12.65), suggesting enhanced understanding and uniformity among students. Qualitative outcomes highlighted multimedia's contribution to clarifying intricate concepts, improving communication abilities, and promoting collaborative learning. The research concludes that the strategic integration of multimedia tools within cooperative frameworks can establish a vibrant, interactive learning environment, considerably enhancing students' conceptual grasp and preparing them for future academic and career challenges.
