Abstract

Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level plays a crucial role in developing students' communication skills from an early age. The main focus of this learning is to introduce and improve language skills through four main components: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Indonesian language learning in elementary schools is adapted to the cognitive and social development stages of students, with the application of interesting and innovative methods, such as games, stories, and group discussions. In addition to improving language skills, this learning also aims to shape students' character, critical thinking skills, and social skills. Furthermore, Indonesian language learning also supports the introduction of Indonesian cultural values and increases understanding of the importance of language as an effective communication tool in everyday life. With the right approach, Indonesian language learning can be a strong foundation for students' academic and social success in the future.

Abstract

Reading is a receptive language skill and is very important for life, meaning that reading brings someone to receive information from the activity. Beginning reading is one aspect of language skills that lasts for two years for the first and second grades of elementary school. Reading difficulties in lower grade students are quite numerous, there are still many students who do not know letters, have difficulty distinguishing letters, do not know diphthongs and consonants. This study aims to determine what are the beginning reading difficulties and the factors that influence students' reading difficulties. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method. Qualitative research is used to understand the subjects studied about the causes of reading difficulties experienced by the subjects and the influence of reading difficulties on the scores of each subject. Based on the results of observations of 25 grade I students at SD Negeri 38 Sorong City, 8 students were identified as unable, 10 were quite able and 7 were able. There are several factors why students experience reading difficulties including low ability and interest of students in learning activities, family and environmental factors.

Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is to learn about Indonesian language learning in elementary school. Learning Indonesian in elementary school is the foundation for fostering students' awareness of the existence of Indonesian as a means of communication and as a unifying tool for this nation. This is expected to improve students' positive attitudes towards Indonesian as a symbol of national identity and pride, and national unity. This article discusses the purpose and function of learning Indonesian obtained from various sources such as the internet, books, or journals. By knowing the purpose and function of learning Indonesian, teachers and students can apply it in their daily lives, especially in an elementary school environment. This article also discusses several strategies that can be used by teachers in the Indonesian language learning process to improve students‘ learning outcomes in the four language skills. The strategies presented in this paper are strategies that have been explored from various literature sources. There are several strategies that can be chosen and used by teachers in the Indonesian language learning process to improve students’ learning outcomes in the four language skills.

Abstract

This research adopts a qualitative approach using a case study to explore the impact of innovation in teaching strategies on enhancing student engagement within the context of the Merdeka Curriculum. The aim of this study is to uncover the experiences, perspectives, and challenges faced by teachers and students in the implementation of innovative teaching strategies, focusing on project-based learning methods, group discussions, the use of technology, and other active learning approaches. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews with teachers, students, and school principals, classroom observations, and analysis of documents related to the Merdeka Curriculum. The data analysis technique used is thematic and descriptive analysis, with the application of triangulation to validate the findings. The results show that learning innovations utilizing digital technology successfully enhanced student engagement through interactive elements, gamification, and project-based approaches. However, challenges such as limited access to technology and teacher training remain obstacles to optimal implementation.

Abstract

In primary schools in Indonesia, learning Indonesian often faces various problems, both from students and the teaching system. Based on relevant journal sources, this article aims to analyse the problems faced by students in learning Indonesian in primary schools and their solutions. The method used is a literature study or research on the factors that influence learning Indonesian in primary school and their solutions. The results of the analysis from various journals show that some of the factors that cause difficulties in learning Indonesian include difficulties in reading and writing, lack of vocabulary, low concentration in learning, and boredom in students. Each of these factors is interrelated and can hinder the development of students' language skills. To overcome these problems, teachers can apply various strategies, such as getting students used to reading every day, training writing habits in various appropriate ways, creating an environment conducive to improving concentration, and overcoming students' boredom with varied learning methods.

Abstract

This article reviews the literature on module development in mathematics learning. The purpose of this development is to review the literature on the preparation of mathematics learning models for junior high school students using the STEAM Project Based Learning learning model in improving students' cognitive abilities. This development method uses a literature review that discusses the development of teaching material modules by raising cognitive elements in the learning process. This module can be implied in mathematics learning in junior high schools, one of which is in the material of spatial structures with simple building designs (integrating geometry and art concepts). Mathematics learning modules based on STEAM project based learning in junior high schools need to be used and designed to improve students' cognitive abilities by involving four dimensions of knowledge in the development of cognitive psychology consisting of four types of knowledge, namely Factual, Conceptual, Procedural, and Metacognition.

Abstract

Learning is a permanent change in student behaviour through experience, observation, and the use of language, which is done actively and relates to knowledge, attitudes, and skills. This study aims to explain the issues in Indonesian language education, especially regarding how students learn the language in the context of learning Indonesian. The method applied in this study is descriptive qualitative. The main data was obtained through interviews with teachers and parents. Observations were carried out to identify problems faced by students in learning Indonesian. The results showed that in the language learning process at school, especially at the primary school level, teachers conducted evaluations and understood that students had acquired language before entering school through the surrounding environment. Students tend to be more confident in learning a language if given the opportunity to improve through their own work. Language learning also provides opportunities for students to choose the language activities they want.

Abstract

Indonesia's national education is still facing various problems. The achievements of educational outcomes have not met expectations. Learning in schools has not been able to fully shape graduates who reflect the character and culture of the nation. The development of education based on the character and culture of the nation needs to be a national programme. Because with knowledge, new discoveries will be made that can make human life better, easier and more prosperous. Science plays an important role in changing the civilisation of a nation. Therefore, by reading, we can broaden our horizons and knowledge. However, the reading culture in Indonesia is still low, so it needs to be motivated by this writing so that the reading culture of this country's people can increase, so that this country and nation can advance and win in this global competition.

Abstract

This research was conducted because there are a number of interesting things about the way teachers in improving the psychomotoraspects of student conducted in class IV SDN 18 Sadayan includingsome students look passive, not enthusiastic and less enthusiastic in participating in learning in class that indicates the weak motivation of learning in students. With this situation, class IV teachers have a fairly effective way to foster student motivation by using audio visual media in the form of infocus in the learning process. The purpose of this study is to reveal what the teachers’ efforts are in improving the psychomotor aspects of student in class IV through audio visual media. This study uses a phenomenological approach whit qualitative research types. The results of this study: first, class teachers conduct learning using learning media, which is in the form of audio visual electronic media such as the use of infocus in displaying learning videos assisted with loudspeakers. Second, the teacher adjusts the learning media to be used with the material to be taught. Learning media that will be used must be practical and interesting so that student more easily understand and are interested in participating in classroom learning. Three, the teacher is selective in determining the media to be used. Because in the selection of the media it is necessary to compatibility or compatibility with the material to be delivered. So that when learning takes place students not only focus on the material but can also enjoy the course of the learning process in the classroom.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of ips learning outcomes using the make a match learning model in elementary school students. This research is a qualitative research which is a descriptive research. The research method used in this research is the library research method. The data from this research was analyzed descriptively. The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in ips learning outcomes using the make a match learning model in elementary school students.
