Abstract

This study discusses burnout among Generation Z employees who are in the early stages of their careers. The objective of this research is to explore burnout more deeply among early-career Generation Z employees. This is a qualitative study that adopts an interpretive paradigm and a case study approach. The participants in this research are Generation Z employees with work tenure ranging from 0 to 2 years. The data collected were analyzed using open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. The findings of this study reveal several factors contributing to burnout among Generation Z employees, including work organization and job content, interpersonal relationships and leadership, work-life balance and job security, workplace values, health and well-being, personality, and offensive behavior. Additionally, this study identifies social stereotypes as a contributing factor to burnout among Generation Z employees. These factors emphasize that burnout is multifactorial and contextual, particularly within the dynamic yet structurally unstable culture of early-stage startups. If companies are able to establish clearer job descriptions and standard operating procedures (SOPs), provide psychological support and open discussion spaces, create informal activities such as sports or social gatherings to improve work-life balance, and adjust compensation systems to match workload demands, employee performance will increase, ultimately leading to business growth.

Abstract

This study explores capital structure dynamic adjustment in Indonesia's property industry between slow and fast capital adjustments, using 42 listed firms as panel data from 2015 to 2024. By employing System GMM estimators and the threshold model to investigate the speed of adjustment (SOA) and the influence of macroeconomic variables and creditor behavior on leverage during the COVID-19 crisis. We identified a SOA moderately between 22–24% during normal conditions increasing to an SOA of dramatically to 44.5%, indicating considerable asymmetric adjustment behavior, during a dividend or issued-stock financing shift. The onset of COVID-19 temporarily increased leverage by a mean of 2.6 percentage points, which later returned to pre-crisis leverage paths over time. Interest rates emerged as a prominent macroeconomic variable, notably reducing leverage, with a distinctive role for the real estate sector in Indonesia, highlighting the sector's sensibility to monetary policy shifts. Overall, the results robustly confirmed both pecking order and trade-off theory, while also recognizing distinct institutional features of Indonesia's property market, including the relatively mute role of tangible collateral in financing decisions. The study provides useful empirical and practical insights for corporate managers making capital structure decisions in volatile emerging market environments and for policymakers considering stability-inducing interventions in capital-intensive sectors.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of sales promotion, price discount, and hedonic motivation on online impulsive buying behavior, with positive emotion as a mediating variable, on Shopee e-commerce users from Generation Z in Bali Province. The approach used is associative quantitative with a survey method of 260 respondents selected through purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire based on a Likert scale of 1-5, and data analysis using the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) method. The results showed that sales promotion, price discount, and hedonic motivation have a positive and significant effect on online impulsive buying behavior. In addition, these three variables also have a positive effect on positive emotion. Positive emotion is proven to have a significant influence on online impulsive buying behavior and partially mediates the relationship between sales promotion, price discount, and hedonic motivation on online impulse buying behavior. These findings support the Stimulus-Organism-Response (SOR) framework, which explains how external stimuli drive internal reactions in the form of positive emotions that ultimately trigger impulsive consumptive behavior. The implications of this study provide theoretical contributions in the development of SOR theory and practical contributions for e-commerce management, especially Shopee, in designing marketing strategies that are able to trigger positive emotions and encourage impulse purchases in the generation Z target market.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology in Indonesia, including the banking sector, is reflected in internet penetration reaching 79.5% of the total population by 2024. Digital transformation driven by the government has also significantly boosted the growth of the digital economy, with a value of US$82 billion in 2023 and projected to increase to US$109 billion in 2025 (BPS, 2024; Dhanesworo, 2024). The banking sector continues to innovate through digital services, one of which is the Livin' by Mandiri application. The adoption of technology by the younger generation is a factor in the success of this application, where millennials and Gen Z account for 77% of total users. This study aims to evaluate the effect of using the livin' by mandiri application on customer satisfaction and loyalty using the UTAUT model. The method used in this study is a quantitative approach. Data was collected through an online survey involving 203 respondents who are active users of the Livin by Mandiri application. The analysis technique uses Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the relationship between variables and measure the level of influence of each variable in the research model. The results of this study indicate that the actual usage variable has a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction, which shows the large contribution of the intensity of application use to the level of user satisfaction. In addition, actual usage also has a positive and significant effect on attitudinal loyalty, which indicates that the experience of using the application can form a loyal attitude of customers towards the Livin' by Mandiri application. Thus, the more frequently and effectively the application is used, the higher the customer satisfaction and loyal attitude formed.

Abstract

The main goal of a company is to increase its firm value by maximizing its share price. The higher the firm value, the higher the stock value will be. The construction and building subsector is one of the key sectors supporting economic growth in Indonesia. However, The growth and increase in the number of companies is not accompanied by an increase in the value of companies in the construction and building sub-sector in Indonesia. This study aims to examine the effect of capital structure, free cash flow, and inflation on firm value through dividend policy, with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as a moderating variable. The data analysis techniques used in this study are Path Analysis and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) with the help of SPSS version 27. The results indicate that capital structure has a negative and significant effect on firm value, while Free Cash Flow (FCF), inflation, and dividend policy have a positive and significant effect on firm value. Capital structure does not affect dividend policy, while FCF and inflation have a positive and significant effect on dividend policy. Dividend policy mediates the effect of FCF an inflation on firm value but does not mediate the effect of capital structure. CSR strengthens the relationship between dividend policy and firm value. The results of this study are expected to help companies in evaluating factors that can increase firm value in the future, help investors to pay attention to factors that influence firm value as a basis for making investment decisions, and for future researchers it is hoped that they can add other macroeconomic variables by considering more diverse companies in terms of industrial sectors.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the influence of compensation and organizational culture on employee work motivation in multinational companies. Work motivation is a crucial factor that can drive optimal employee productivity and performance. This study employed a quantitative approach with the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis method. The sampling technique used the Lemeshow formula, with 115 respondents and data collection was conducted through the distribution of questionnaires with a Likert scale to predetermined respondents. The results show that compensation has a positive effect on work motivation, but this effect is at the threshold of significance. This means that adequate compensation can indeed boost work motivation, but its contribution is not dominant. Conversely, organizational culture has been shown to have a positive and significant influence on employee work motivation. A strong organizational culture, characterized by the implementation of positive values, norms, and collective behavior, can create a work environment that supports increased employee morale and motivation.

Abstract

The Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and the Stimulus-Organism-Response (SOR) model are theoretical frameworks that explain how external stimuli, such as celebrity endorser credibility and electronic word of mouth (E-WOM), are psychologically processed by individuals, ultimately leading to specific behavioral intentions. In the highly competitive skincare industry, Avoskin is ranked among the top five skincare brands but experienced a decline in sales in 2022, making the enhancement of consumers’ repurchase intentions a crucial focus for the company. This study aims to analyze the influence of celebrity endorser credibility and E-WOM on the repurchase intention of Avoskin products, with brand image as a mediating variable. The research was conducted among residents of Denpasar City who had previously purchased Avoskin products, using purposive sampling with a total of 150 respondents. Data were collected through an online questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with a Partial Least Squares (PLS) approach. The results indicate that both celebrity endorser credibility and E-WOM have a positive and significant effect on repurchase intention. Additionally, both variables positively and significantly influence brand image. Brand image, in turn, has a significant effect on repurchase intention and serves as a mediating variable in the relationship between celebrity endorser credibility and E-WOM with repurchase intention. The study suggests that companies should select credible public figures who align with the brand image and encourage positive online reviews. Moreover, companies are advised to highlight product advantages such as natural active ingredients, dermatological certification, and eco-friendly packaging. Consumer experience-based loyalty strategies should also be enhanced. Future research is encouraged to include additional variables, such as brand trust or consumer satisfaction, to further enrich the conceptual model.
