Dharmawangsa International Journal of The Social Sciences, Education and Humanities is a journal published by the Research Institute of Dharawangsa University, Medan. This journal is published periodically three times a year, namely in March, August and November. Articles published in this journal are articles that examine the fields of social science, law, economics, sociology, education, and Humanities. both in the form of conceptual, research findings, books and biographies of figures. The languages used in this journal are English and Arabic. Without reducing scientific weight, this journal accepts written contributions that have never been published in other print media. Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of interpersonal communication and service quality on user satisfaction at Medan State University. This research uses effective understanding in interpersonal communication and finds out what influence users have in visiting the library at Medan State University. This data collection technique is through observation and documentation. This data analysis technique uses thematic analysis. In providing services, librarians must foster positive, transparent and interpersonal relationships by providing services that make librarians very happy when visiting the library. Communication is a very important factor in working between humans and other people in the work environment, for example between employees in the same position or employees in different positions. The aim of this research is to obtain information or feedback and improve user-friendly services, which is a form of collaboration between users and librarians to understand the aims and objectives. It is concluded that librarians can be defined as library employees who are intended to provide services to the public or library users, based on knowledge obtained through training, literature and library information.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the marketing strategy for people's interest in buying in the Medan Denai area for this Baba Parfum product. The data collection technique chosen to process the data is qualitative, which is given a form and made to be selected as a sample of 25 respondents. The data collection method is in the form of a questionnaire. Baba Parfum, a local perfume brand that adopts a management system that involves a team network in their product sales efforts. This network system has proven effective in increasing sales of Baba Parfum products. Marketing strategy by mastering social media to see the products marketed as many as 93.5% of consumers are satisfied with the digital marketing of Baba Parfum and its marketing strategy. Consumers also use payment technology such as e-money through Gopay Ovo, and funds can be seen that consumers know the product in the era of digital marketing and sales that are developing well. Therefore, the development of Baba Parfum products in the current era has a great influence on the company's profitability so that the selling price is quite good and is able to attract consumers.

Abstract

Every company has an interest in providing information to consumers and offering a variety of product types and the best prices.Price is also one wayto increase the number of customers. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of product type on consumer purchasing decisions at PT. Benelli Anugerah Motor Pusaka in Medan. To determine the effect of price on consumer purchasing decisions at PT. Benelli Anugerah Motor Pusaka in Medan. To determine the effect of product type and price on consumer purchasing decisions at PT. Benelli Anugerah Motor Pusaka in Medan. The data analysis techniques used are validity test, normality test and multiple linear regression. The sample studied was 92 respondents. The results of this study obtained the significance value of product type on purchasing decisions based on the t test obtained tcount> ttable (2.024> 1.661961) H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The conclusion: there is a significant influence of product type on purchasing decisions. From the results of this study, the significance value of price based on the t test obtained tcount> ttable (6.778> 1.661961). The conclusion: then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, there is a significant influence of price on purchasing decisions. Based on the results of the F test above, the Fcount value> Ftable of (146.319>2.36) was obtained, which means that the product type and price variables simultaneously have a real (significant) influence or have a positive influence on the purchasing decision variable.

Abstract

Administrative services at the sub-district office play an important role in supporting the effectiveness of public services. However, the manual systems that are still widely used often cause problems such as delays in processing, recording errors, and a lack of data transparency. This study aims to design and implement a web-based Administrative Information System at the Sei Sikambing B Sub-district Office to improve the efficiency and accuracy of administrative services. The system development method used is the Waterfall model, starting from needs analysis, system design, implementation, to testing. This system provides digital services for managing correspondence, population data, and document archives, featuring user login, notifications, and automatic document printing. Testing results indicate that this web-based system can accelerate administrative processes, reduce recording errors, and simplify data tracking for both staff and the public. With the implementation of this system, it is hoped that public services at the Sei Sikambing B Village Office will become more effective, transparent, and responsive to residents' needs.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the role of facilitator assistants in increasing the income of umkm customers at PT Bank BTPN Syari`ah, what are the obstacles to the role of facilitator assistants in increasing the income of umkm customers at PT Bank BTPN Syari`ah, and what solutions can overcome the obstacles experienced by facilitator assistants in increasing the income of umkm customers at PT Bank BTPN Syari`ah. The type of data used in this research is qualitative data. Data collection methods using interviews and documentation. The informants used in the study were 8 people who were part of the company, namely senior business manager, business manager, community officer, mentor, facilitator and customer. The results of this study indicate that the role of the facilitator of PT Bank BTPN Syari'ah in Besitang is quite good, but not yet maximized as a whole. There are still obstacles that occur in the mentoring process, one of which is limited resources, limited abilities and knowledge, limited budget and others. In facing these obstacles, a solution is needed so that the assisting facilitator can process well in assisting the business of PT Bank BTPN Syari'ah customers in Besitang. Solutions that can be done to overcome these obstacles include improving the skills and knowledge of facilitator assistants, applying for a budget to the company to help smooth the mentoring process and other solutions.

Abstract

Suku Batak Toba membangun kekerabatan melalui sistem marga dan tradisi martarombo, yaitu proses penelusuran silsilah untuk menjalin hubungan kekeluargaan. Tradisi ini sangat penting bagi mahasiswa perantau Batak Toba di Bandar Lampung sebagai sarana pelestarian identitas budaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji proses komunikasi interpersonal mahasiswa perantau Batak Toba di Bandar Lampung dalam tradisi martarombo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Keabsahan data dipastikan melalui triangulasi metode. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran sebagai pengirim dan penerima dalam martarombo bersifat fleksibel, dipengaruhi oleh pemahaman budaya, keberanian memulai interaksi, dan dorongan emosional. Proses komunikasi berlangsung baik secara verbal maupun nonverbal melalui pertukaran informasi tentang marga dan silsilah, disertai dengan gestur seperti jabat tangan dan senyuman. Saluran komunikasi yang digunakan meliputi interaksi tatap muka dan media daring yang beradaptasi dengan kemajuan teknologi. Umpan balik diberikan secara langsung, baik secara verbal maupun nonverbal, yang memperkuat ikatan kekerabatan. Keberhasilan komunikasi dipengaruhi oleh pengalaman, minat, kemampuan berbahasa Batak, dan partisipasi aktif dalam percakapan. Martarombo tetap menjadi media penting untuk membangun solidaritas dan menegakkan nilai-nilai etika berdasarkan prinsip Dalihan Na Tolu. Siswa menyadari pentingnya melestarikan tradisi ini.Kata Kunci:  Komunikasi Interpersonal, Mahasiswa, Martarombo, Migran, Suku Batak Toba.

Abstract

This study examines the perceptions of students in the Communication Science Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Riau on the impact of TikTok usage in shaping cultural identity and nationalism in the era of globalization. The research aims to analyze how TikTok, as a popular digital social media platform, influences students’ views and attitudes toward local culture and national identity. Using a mixed-method approach through questionnaires distributed to 50 respondents and in-depth interviews with active TikTok users, this study explores patterns of content consumption and production related to cultural and national themes. The findings indicate that while TikTok enables students to express and promote local cultural elements—such as traditional dances, local cuisine, and regional languages—there is also a risk of cultural identity dilution due to exposure to global content. Regarding nationalism, the results show limited active engagement, as students tend to consume rather than produce content with nationalistic messages. The study highlights the relevance of Uses and Gratifications Theory, Social Identity Theory, and Digital Nationalism Theory in understanding these phenomena. In conclusion, TikTok has the potential to strengthen cultural identity and nationalism among youth if used wisely and creatively. Educational institutions and policymakers are encouraged to facilitate programs and digital literacy to support the creation of cultural and national content that appeals to young audiences.

Abstract

Assistance for pregnant women up to the postpartum period is essential to ensure the physical and mental health of the mother and baby, through regular monitoring, education, and ongoing emotional support. The method used is a descriptive survey, the sample in this study is all pregnant women to postpartum women who are accompanied by 20 students from February until August The tool used was a questionnaire with descriptive data analysis. The results of the study from 20 respondents in pregnancy were obtained that 100% had a KIA book, 90% had P4K stickers installed, 100% made pregnancy visits >6x and 100% in pregnancy supervision, in childbirth 70% were normal deliveries, 70% were assisted by midwives and 50% were delivered at TPMB, in postpartum 100% were 4 visits and 100% were in mentoring. Assisting pregnant women until postpartum is an important aspect in maintaining the health of mothers and babies, where students play an active role in providing education, health monitoring, and emotional support. With a holistic and sustainable approach, this mentoring helps reduce the risk of complications, improve maternal well-being, and ensure the birth and recovery process runs safely.
