Abstract

Strategic management functions are elements that are always attached to the management process which will be used as a reference in carrying out activities or structured planning to achieve predetermined goals. This research aims to design a change management model for organizational performance at government institution XYZ in an era of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity (VUCA). The social theory used in this research is Marxian theory, the name for several theoretical explanations inspired by Karl Marx. The emphasis in Marxian theory is that old assumptions such as the opposition of two large classes, the bourgeoisie and the proletariat, inspire explanations of modern phenomena. Research data was obtained by filling out an online questionnaire by 207 employees of the XYZ government agency. The sampling method used was purposive sampling. The variables used in this research are coordination, strategic planning, change management, and organizational performance. The influence of coordination, strategic planning and change management variables on organizational performance will be modeled using a structural equation model. The results show that there is a positive influence of coordination, strategic planning and change management variables on organizational performance. Change management variables are proven to fully mediate the influence of coordination and strategic planning on organizational performance. Its effectiveness can be seen from coordination and strategic planning which cannot significantly influence organizational performance without the mediating variable of change management. The findings of this paper have academic, managerial, and policy implications that can provide a theoretical foundation for future research in measuring and managing organizational sustainability performance and contribute to knowledge in the field of performance measurement.

Abstract

Situ Cilodong not only holds excellent tourism potential but also plays a vital role in the water management system of Cilodong District. It serves as a water storage container and a catchment area. According to a 2018 study conducted by the Depok City Government, Situ Cilodong serves various functions, including its potential as a tourist attraction, water resource provider, and flood control. However, these functions are at risk due to several existing problems, primarily pollution. Situ Cilodong's pollution results from various community activities in the catchment area, including the discharge of domestic liquid waste, industrial activities, fisheries, and water tourism. This research aims to assess the water quality of Situ Cilodong. The parameters being measured include temperature, Total Suspended Solids (TSS), turbidity, pH, Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), nitrate, phosphate, Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), and E. coli levels. The analysis will then be compared to the quality standards set by Government Regulation No. 22 of 2021. The water quality status is determined using the Pollution Index method. BOD parameters ranged from 3.4 – 9.6 mg/L, and E. coli ranged from 1600 MPN/100 ml. Situ Cilodong's Pollutant Index (IP) is 3.34. The results of the water quality analysis indicate that several parameters, including BOD and E. coli, exceed the quality standards. As a result, the water quality status of Situ Cilodong is classified as lightly polluted. So, efforts are needed to maintain and restore the sustainability of Situ Cilodong's water quality.

Abstract

In 2022, tourist visits to the Budo Tourism Village were recorded at 64.000 visitors. This figure exceeds the initial target of the village government and Village-Owned Enterprise Management. However, the large number of tourist visits to Budo Village did not increase the number of guests staying at Budo Village homestays. The limited marketing budget from the government and the village-owned enterprise (Bumdes) as managers makes WOM (word of mouth) as the main promotional strategy for homestay managers in the Budo Tourism Village. Another phenomenon encountered is dissatisfaction of guests who stay overnight due to the quality of service received. The above phenomena are related to the theories of service quality, tourist satisfaction, and word of mouth, and are then examined in more depth regarding the influence of service quality on word of mouth mediated by tourist satisfaction. This type of research is quantitative with data collection techniques using a questionnaire created in the form of a GoogleForm and distributed to 174 respondents who have stayed at nine homestays in the Budo Tourism Village. SEM PLS and SPSS analysis were employed to analyze the data. This research found that service quality has a positive and significant influence on tourist satisfaction and Word of Mouth (WOM). Tourist satisfaction has a positive and significant influence on Word of Mouth (WOM) and is also able to mediate the influence of Service Quality on Word of Mouth (WOM). Homestay managers are advised to concern to service quality, such as tidiness and cleanliness, as well as improving internet networks and the availability of free WiFi. Further research will explore the possibility of developing it not only in homestays but also in cafes, restaurants, and even diving centers.
