Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has diminished students' self-regulated learning (SRL) abilities, as evidenced by procrastination and a culture of instant gratification in the digital age. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of time management and goal-setting training in improving SRL post-pandemic. A quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design was used, involving eight eighth-grade students from Class VIII A at MTs X Banyuwangi who exhibited low SRL. Analysis using the Wilcoxon test showed an increase in scores with a p-value of 0.012 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant change in students' SRL after the training, with an average increase of 4.50. Qualitative findings support these results, showing increased metacognitive awareness, the ability to prioritize tasks, and a reduction in digital distractions. This study confirms that time management and goal-setting training is effective as an initial strategy for building students' learning autonomy during the post-pandemic transition period.

Abstract

This article presents an integrative literature review that maps and synthesizes the conceptual relationships among incongruence in humanistic psychology, hypocritical behavior in social psychology, and the Islamic concept of nifaq, as a conceptual basis for the development of Islamic Guidance and Counseling (BKI). The analysis draws on a systematic review of relevant psychological and Islamic literature. The synthesis reveals that all three concepts share the same phenomenological anchor-the misalignment between internal values and external behavioral expression-yet each offers a distinct explanatory framework: humanistic psychology foregrounds the intrapersonal dimension, social psychology highlights contextual dynamics, while Islam emphasizes the spiritual-moral dimension. Their integration yields a more holistic and contextually sensitive model of understanding, with practical implications for developing BKI interventions that address both psychological and spiritual dimensions. The article also identifies limitations of Rogers' theory in collective cultural contexts such as Islamic boarding schools, and proposes the incorporation of interdependent self-construal as a conceptual bridge between Western psychology and the socio-cultural realities of Indonesian Muslim communities.

Abstract

This study examines the transmission mechanisms of intergenerational trauma in a mother with a childhood history of emotional abuse who applies authoritarian parenting, contributing to clinical depression and suicidal tendencies in her child. Using a qualitative case study approach with in-depth interviews and thematic analysis, the study finds that childhood trauma formed two core maladaptive beliefs-the necessity of physical punishment and a negative determinism toward children from broken homes-which function as the primary cognitive mediator in the trauma transmission chain. A six-session Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) intervention proved effective in disputing these irrational beliefs, improving the mother's emotion regulation, and enhancing the quality of her relationship with her child. These findings underscore the importance of assessing parenting beliefs in clinical intervention and offer an evidence-based model for breaking the intergenerational trauma cycle within Indonesian family contexts.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the increasing mental health issues requiring an integrative approach between psychological and spiritual aspects. The concept of resilience in modern psychology has not fully accommodated the spiritual dimension, while the concept of sabr in Islamic psychology has the potential to serve as a foundation for individual resilience. This study aims to integrate the concepts of sabr and resilience within the perspective of Islamic psychology. The participants of this study were scientific articles obtained from academic databases that met the inclusion criteria. The method used was a systematic literature review following the PRISMA approach. The results indicate that sabr is closely related to resilience components such as emotional regulation, adaptability, and meaning-making. The integration of these concepts produces a theoretical framework positioning sabr as a spiritual foundation for resilience. These findings imply the development of Islamic-based psychological interventions.
