Abstract

This study aims to explain the communication patterns of students and teachers in Islamic boarding schools. The data of this study are the conversations of students and religious teachers which indicate several types of communication patterns in them. The source of this research data is the conversations of students at the Darussalam Blokagung Islamic Boarding School. Data collection was carried out by means of recording techniques, observations, and interviews. After the data is collected, the data is then described and then analyzed according to the communication patterns that occur in the students and teachers at Darussalam Blokagung Islamic Boarding School using the Hymes communication pattern theory known as SPEAKING, so that researchers can explain the communication patterns that occur. The last is the interpretation stage, drawing conclusions from the data that has been analyzed. The results of the analysis show that the pattern of communication between the teacher and the students indicates a pattern of advising and commanding. In communicating, the teacher tends to be more flexible in speaking, because he is the dominating character in the conversation. This is because the teacher is in a position of higher social status than the student. Then the communication of the student to the teacher is that the student always starts and closes the conversation with greetings and speaks while bowing his head slightly every time he talks with the teacher.

Abstract

   The existence of basic principles in communicating in pragmatics can be referred to as the principle of cooperation.  The principle of cooperation according to Grice, namely the maxim of quantity, maxim of quality, maxim of relevance, and maxim of implementation.  This study examines the maxim of quantity and maxim of relevance more.  The purpose of this study is to explain the maxim of quantity and the maxim of relevance that exist on Najwa Shihab's YouTube about 20 Years of Timor Leste, Stories After Independence.  This research method uses descriptive qualitative and note-taking techniques to collect data.  The results of the study state that there are 11 maxims of quantity and maxims of relevance in the video.  Of the 11 maxims, there are 6 maxims of quantity and 5 maxims of relevance.  The maxim of quantity can be seen that what the speaker answers is in accordance with the purpose and is not exaggerated, while the maxim of relevance answers with relevance and what is being questioned is in accordance with 5w+1h.

Abstract

This study aims to describe moral education in Tere Liye's novel The Child of Storms and its relevance as Indonesian language teaching materials in junior high schools. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The data source for this research is Tere Liye's 318-page novel The Child of Storms, which was published in 2019. The research data was obtained through narration or dialogue between characters that are related to moral education. Collecting research data using document study techniques. Data analysis by doing data reduction, data presentation and verification. The results of this study are that there is moral education including polite behavior, praying and worshiping, sorry and forgiving, helping each other, and caring for others in the novel The Child of Storms by Tere Liye. In addition, there is relevance to the novel Si Anak Storm by Tere Liye as Indonesian language teaching material for class VIII SMP based on Permendikbud Number 37 of 2018 on Basic Competency (KD) 3.12 for knowledge and 4.12 for skills regarding literary review texts.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low score achieved by students in the beginning reading ability in the Indonesian language subject. One way that can be used to overcome this problem is to apply the syllabus method. The purpose of this study was to describe the effect of the silaba method on the reading ability of first grade students at SDN Petemon Surabaya. The type of research used in this research is quantitative research using experimental methods, with the type of Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. This study used the firstclass population at SDN Petemon Surabaya. Two classes were selected using a random sampling technique by lottery as the research sample. Class I-C consists of 25 students as an experimental class. Class I-A consists of 25 students as the control class. The instrument of this study used observation sheets and questions (pretest and posttest) in the form of literacy, totaling 5 questions. The data collection technique uses scoring on the results of observations and pretest and posttest assessment standards. The tests used were the normality test, homogeneity test and the T test were used to test the results of the research data. The results of the research data showed that the posttest average of the experimental class was , which was higher than the control class, which was . The results of the data using the t-test. The results of calculating t Count obtained a value of  followed by looking for a t table based on the df value of 48 with a level value of  showing a result of . This proves that there is an influence of the silaba method on the beginning reading ability of first grade students at SDN Petemon Surabaya.

Abstract

  This type of qualitative literature study uses reading and note-taking data collection techniques. The aim is to analyze language errors in the writing of Al-Fattah Islamic Boarding School pamphlets. The data used are in the form of phrases, clauses, and sentences contained in the pamphlet. The source of the data used is a document in the form of a pamphlet which has been disseminated by the Al-Fattah Islamic Boarding School media team on social media. The results of the study indicate that there are language errors at the syntactic level, namely (1) sentence errors which include three sentences that are not parallel, one sentence that is not frugal, one sentence that is influenced by a foreign language, four sentences that are wrong in     spelling, and one sentence that is ambiguous/taxacious , (2) There is also an error in the field of phrases which includes one excessive use of elements, and one wrong phrase in writing (typo).       Keywords: language errors, syntax, pamphlets, online media

Abstract

  This study aims to describe the use of language in the public space of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. This research will provide a deeper understanding of the types of language used in posters and information boards and identify relevant patterns and trends in language use. The research method used is descriptive qualitative by collecting data through observation and documentation. The results and conclusions of this study indicate that there are errors in the use of language in formal and informal forms on posters and information boards at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. These errors include errors in spelling, punctuation, use of capital letters, and standard words. Apart from that, banner boards were also found that used good and polite language in a linguistic context, the use of good and correct Indonesian in public spaces complied with linguistic rules related to EYD and standard grammar. Rules regarding the use of Indonesian in public places are also regulated in Law Number 24 of 2009. Therefore, it is important to correct mistakes in the use of Indonesian in public spaces, especially in educational settings such as universities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe: (1) the physical and mental structures in the anthology of poetry Sincere For The Wrong People by Boy Candra 2022; (2) the use of physical and mental structures in an anthology of poetry Sincere For The Wrong People by Boy Candra 2022. The researcher used a descriptive qualitative method with a structural approach. Data analysis techniques include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. validity test is done by triangulation. As for the physical and mental structures in the poetry anthology Sincere For The Wrong People by Boy Candra 2022. a. Physical structure (1) Diction (37 words with connotative meaning), (2) Images (23 visual images, 2 auditory images, 9 tactile images, and 1 tasting images), (3) Concrete words (35 words), (4) Figurative language (4 metaphors, 12 personifications, 16 hyperboles), (5) Typography (2 stanzas 5 poems, three stanzas 5 poems). b. Inner structure (1) Theme (overall on the theme of romance), (2) Taste (found 9 kinds of feelings namely: sad, disappointed, disgusted, resigned, anxious, angry, hate, sad, and empty), (3) Tone and Atmosphere (the tone is sad, gloomy, disappointed, while the atmosphere is sad, suffering, sad, and anxious), (4) Mandate (the whole poem has a message with implied meaning).

Abstract

The phenomenon of the appearance of various interpretations used by readers of Tere Liye's novel Rasa makes the meaning intended by the author for readers increasingly different from one reader to another. The focus behind the emergence of problems in interpreting the meaning contained in Tere Liye's novel Rasa in everyday life is 1) how is the hermeneutic analysis of family values ??in Tere Liye's novel Rasa? 2) how is the hermeneutic analysis of the educational value of Tere Liye's novel Rasa? The aims of this study are: 1) to describe the hermeneutics of family values ??2) to describe the hermeneutics of educational values ??in Tere Liye's novel Rasa. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method that can help identify various factors and information in interpreting a meaning contained in Tere Liye's novel Rasa. The technique used to obtain data is the note-taking technique. The analysis used is the Miles and Huberman model: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion/verification. The validity of the data used is a triangulation technique. Based on the results of the research data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that there are 15 data on family values ??and 70 data on educational values.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the types of language use and educational values ??contained in the poetry collection "Perjamuan Rindu" by Diana Puteri Zahro which will be published in 2021. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The data source in this research is a collection of poems contained in the poem Perjamuan Rindu by Diana Puteri Zahro. Data collection techniques in research use content analysis (Text) techniques. In qualitative research, content analysis or content analysis is used. The results of this study indicate that the use of comparative figurative language in the poetry collection "Perjamuan Rindu" by Diana Puteri Zahro has types of figurative language: personification, parable/simile, metaphor, allegory. From the language style data there are 21 pieces of data. In the Personification language style there are 5 data, Parable/Simile there are 2 data, Metaphor there are 8 data, Allegory there are 6 data.

Abstract

This research aims to categorize and characterize various household utensils made from bamboo in Pandeglang Regency; and explain the function of these products. Using bamboo as household equipment in Pandeglang Regency was the driving factor for conducting this research. Ethnolinguistic studies or methods that investigate the relationship between language and culture are the scope of this research. The focus of this research is the lexical form of household utensils and the function of bamboo household utensils in Pandeglang Regency. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method that combines recording, discourse, and involvement approaches. A glossary of terms, descriptions of types of household equipment, and their uses are the subject of this research. The main informant and accompanying informants were interviewed in addition to observations to collect data. The evolution of the cultural lexicon can be influenced by cultural progress. The lexicon emerged along with human demands for product identification. The findings of this study resulted in a total of 35 lexicons, which can be divided into four groups: 28 lexicons representing monomorphemic household items, 3 lexicons representing polymorphemic household items, 1 lexicon representing rewords, and 3 lexicons representing phrases.
