Abstract

English Phonology is one of the subjects that is considered difficult to learn. Students assume that it is difficult since they have to memorize theories related to English pronunciation. To solve this problem, a team of lecturers agreed to apply a learning model called “DRIM” (dictating, reading, identifying, and modeling). The research was conducted within four cycles through Lesson Study program. The learning model consists of: 1) dictating, students listen to and write the sentences recited by the lecturer; 2) Reading, the students are given a text containing words with diphthongs. Those steps are done before the lecturer explains the material on diphthongs to diagnose students’ ability to recognize diphthongs; 3) Identifying, the students are asked to identify the given text and find words containing diphthongs After the students have understood the diphthongs and known how to pronounce them, the last step is 4) modeling. In modeling step, the students are asked to recite some words containing diphthongs and have other students repeat. By applying the model, the advantages that can be taken are as follows: a) giving more exercises and more various activities, b) improving listening skill, and c) growing students’ self- confidence to give examples to their other classmates.

Abstract

Extensive reading is broadly known as reading for enjoyment and is beneficial for EFL students. However, nowadays, the growth of technology has become a matter for students to be reading less than they should be. Thus, this research focused on the online extensive reading as the course program the students had experience in Pakuan University to find out their perspective. The respondents were 15 students from sixth-semester students who had experienced the Online Extensive Reading subject. The research was conducted by using qualitative method and using questionnaires and one-on-one interviews as the instruments. Data collected were separated into three indicators, which included the learning process, students’ skills improvement, and personal factors. Based on the result, the students’ perspective on the Online Extensive Reading helped them improve, especially in vocabulary gained, reading interest and reading comprehension. On the other hand, most students perceived that the learning process was effective for them to learn in this Online situation. However, they suggested that they needed more virtual meeting sessions instead of using chat forum to discuss or share. Furthermore, there were a few students that didn’t feel the effectiveness of the Online Extensive Reading because they had a problem in their personal characteristic such as, procrastinating, unmotivated to read, unmanageable time, and their lack of reading interest.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian  ini untuk mendeskripsikan hubungan antara kecerdasan emosional dengan prestasi belajar pendidikan agama Islam di Sekolah Dasar Negeri Ciheuleut 2 Kota Bogor. Penelitian ini menggunakan study korelasional. Instrumen penelitian sebelum digunakan diuji melalui uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis diperoleh  hasil penelitian, yang dapat menjawab hipotesis yang diajukan  yaitu terdapat hubungan antara kecerdasan emosional dengan  prestasi belajar siswa. Hasil analisis korelasi menggunakan product moment menunjukan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,9. Hal ini menunjukkan adanya korelasi yang tinggi antara kecerdasan emosional dengan prestasi belajar siswa dan arah yang positif. Artinya jika  kecerdasan emosional  pada diri siswa tinggi maka prestasi belajar siswa pun akan tinggi dan sebaliknya.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk melihat apakah terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran scientific learning dan kemandirian belajar terhadap kemampuan memecahkan masalah lingkungan. Studi eksperimen telah dilakukan pada mahasiswa semester III Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Pakuan Bogor. Banyaknya sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 60 responden. 30 untuk kelompok mahasiswa yang menggunakan model Project Based Learning (PJBL) dan 30 untuk kelompok mahasiswa yang menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL). Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat interaksi positif antar faktor model pembelajaran scientific learning serta faktor kemandirian belajar terhadap kemampuan memecahkan masalah pencemaran lingkungan.

Abstract

The aims of this research is to find out the techniques that are used in translating the moral and religion values in literary text. The data of this research are taken from Laskar Pelangi and its translation The Rainbow Troops written by Andrea Hirata. The method used is content analysis with qualitative approach. The result of the research is that the moral values that are mostly found are hardworking and love; the religion values are loving Allah by doing all His command; and the techniques that are mostly used are free translation, substitution and omission. Although there are several sentences and content are omitted, the meaning and the values are still delivered completely to the readers.

Abstract

The aim of the study is to improve students’ motivation through the use of window movie maker media in living things classification on natural science subject of class VII at SMP 1 Babakan Madang, Bogor. The research used classroom action research design. The data was collected from the students’ achievement and observation notes. Based on the three cycles of the research, it is found that the students’ motivation which was very low (14,92%) before the research (pre-cycle) improved into adequate in the first cycle (49,76%) and it got higher in the second cycle (65,23%) and finally it became excellent in the third cycle (89,15%). Based on the research, it is suggested that teachers use attractive and communicative learning media so that the students are motivated to use them as one of the source for learning, not only teachers.

Abstract

THE EFFECT OF HABIT LEARNING TOWARD MATHEMATICS LEARNING OUTCOMES This research is a quantitative research with a survey approach conducted on fourth grade students of Sukasari State Elementary School, Bogor City, 2020/2021 school years. The populations are 93 student and sample 48 student. The data in this study were obtained throungh an instrument in the for learning habits variables and a test instrument in the form multiple choice questions for variable mathematics learning outcomes. This is based on statistical analysis which produces path coefficients (r_xy) in the amount of 0,335 and the pattern Ŷ = 43,85 + 0,236x. From the level of influence is low and obtained t_count 2,713 greater than t_table1,990 the real level 0,05  significant. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is a positive influence between the learning habits on the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth grade student.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dengan pendekatan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan secara kolaboratif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA tentang mendeskripsikan rangka manusia dan fungsinya melalui penerapan model Model Pembelajaran Cooperative, Integrated, Reading, And Composition (CIRC). Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V A di SD Negeri Cibuluh 3 sebanyak 31 siswa, dengan komposisi perempuan 19 siswa dan laki-laki 12 siswa. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Teknik dan alat pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif terhadap data berupa dokumen hasil pekerjaan siswa, daftar nilai dan lembaran observasi Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Cooperative, Integrated, Reading, And Composition (CIRC) dapat menjadi variasi pembelajaran yang menyenangkan bagi peserta didik sehingga terbukti meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik di Kelas V A SD Negeri Cibuluh 3  Kota Bogor. Sebelum menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Cooperative, Integrated, Reading, And Composition (CIRC)  hasil belajar peserta didik hanya mencapai nilai rata-rata 65,32 kemudian terjadi peningkatan setelah menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Cooperative, Integrated, Reading, And Composition (CIRC) menjadi 72,90 pada siklus 1 dan 80,79  pada siklus 2. Oleh  karena itu penerapan Model Pembelajaran Cooperative, Integrated, Reading, And Composition (CIRC) yang disesuaikan dengan  materi pembelajaran dapat menciptakan situasi belajar yang menyenangkan sehingga terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

This research aims ro improve teacher`s competence in online learning through Megicom Workshop during the Covid-19 pandemic in the 2020/2021 academic year of SMA Negeri 9 Bogor. This research was conducted in two cycles with 45 teachers in SMA Negeri 9 Bogor. The research was carried out for 5 (five) months, namely July – November 2020. Based on the reasearch results, after going through the Digital Media Competency Workshop, the competence of teachers in carrying out synchronous online learning has increased. From the results of observations through academic supervision, it was found that in cycle 1, as many as 38%  were very good in carrying out online learning activities in the classroom, 49%  were good, and 13% were quite good in carrying out online learning activities in the classroom. While in cycle 2, 49% were very good in carrying out synchronous online learning activities, 51%  were good, and there was no longer sufficient category). The competence of teachers in implementing synchronous online learning has increased. The results showed that in cycle 1, as many as 42% were very good at carrying out synchronous online learning activities, 47% were good, and 11% were quite good in implementing asynchronous learning activities. While in cycle 2, 60% were very good in carrying out asynchronous online learning activities, 40% were good, and there was no longer sufficient category. The average value of supervision results in synchronous classroom management, has increased from 85.14 to 87.64. Meanwhile, the average value of supervision results in asynchronous classroom management has increased from 85.06 to 87.47. The competence of teachers in the use of digital media has increased, after participating in the Megicom Workshop. This can be seen from the increasingly varied media used, such as Google Classroom, WhatsApp, Quizizz, Google Meet, Zoom Meeting, Instagram, and YouTube. It could be be concluded that the competence of teachers in online learning during the Covid -19 pandemic at SMA Negeri 9 Bogor for the 2020/2021 academic year could be improved through the Megicom Workshop.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to find out the application of contextual method to improve students’ listening skill in an English class. The subject of the research was second grade students, as many as 37 people. The research is a classroom action research using the model of Kemmis and Mc Taggart, conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The process of data collection was by listening test. Another instrument used was a non-test instrument which was the observational result of teaching using contextual method such as the observational sheets of the teacher and the students, notes, and documentation. The research result shows that there is improvement in students’ listening skill, in the aspects of conceptual, procedural, and problem solving with contextual method. It is proven by the average score of listening test in the first cycle which 64.86; it improved in the second cycle reaching 97.29. The activity of the teacher and the students are in accordance with the approach and they reached 100% at the end of the second cycle.
