Abstract

The research is aimed at describing human generic skill through demonstration method in the subject of living environment. It was conducted to 80 students from 2 classes of Primary School Teacher Training Department at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Educational Sciences at Pakuan University. The students’ generic skill was gained through an instrument which was an observational sheet when they did a group activity and was also gained through an individual written test. The research result shows that the students’ generic skill is “adequate. It can be seen from the mean score of the students’ generic skills both in group and also individually (73.06 % and 71.13%). The generic skill which was directly observed in group and individually can be categorized as “good” (78.90% and 74.20%), students’ skill in logical frame both in group and individually was “adequate” (67.23% and 68.56%), students’ skill in knowing cause and effect of a problem in group activity was “adequate” (70.45%) while individually was “good” (77.11%), students’ skill in modeling in group activity was “good” (75,70%) while individually was “adequate” (56.90%), and inference skill of the students in both group and individually was “adequate” (73.06% and 71.13%). Students’ response through the learning activity using demonstration method was positive. The learning using demonstration method is advantageous for the students since it can help them learn living environment. Therefore, it is recommended to apply the method in living environmental education class.

Abstract

Analysis of Achieving Student Learning Styles. Qualitative research with a case study approach. Thesis of Primary School Teacher Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Pakuan University, Bogor, 2020. Aims to identify the dominant learning style possessed by an outstanding student at SDN Semeru 1 Bogor City named Muhammdan Rafa Setiawan and what factors affect the student's achievement. This type of research is qualitative with the case study method. Data collection techniques are carried out by interview, observation, and documentation. The results showed that students were less reactive to sound, easy to focus, quicker to understand new information by looking at it, were able to sit quietly during the lesson, answered verbal questions briefly to the point and liked learning activities by reading so it could be concluded that the dominant learning style the subject has, namely the visual learning style. Meanwhile, the factors that influence the subject's achievement are the presence of interest and high motivation to learn, have an unyielding and resilient attitude and support from the subject's teachers and parents.

Abstract

Pencapaian nilai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) yang masih rendah, khusus materi keanekaragaman hayati menjadi alasan penelitian tindakan kelas (Classroom Action Reserch) ini dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar Biologi dengan menggunakan Teknik Diagram Roundhouse melalui Model Pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC). Penelitian dilakukan di kelas X MIA 3 SMA Negeri 7 Kota Bogor, pada bulan September-November 2015, dengan jumlah siswa 32 orang. Proses penelitian dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus ada 4 tahap: perencanaan tindakan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Setiap akhir siklus dilakukan evaluasi dengan instrumen yang telah diuji validitas tes, uji reliabilitas item tes, dan uji tingkat kesukaran butir soal. Hasil penelitian menunjukan Teknik Diagram Roundhouse melalui Model Pembelajaran CIRC dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar Biologi. Terlihat dari nilai rata-rata hasil belajar kognitif siklus I siswa kelas X MIA 3 yaitu 76 dengan persentase ketuntasan 63% dan rata-rata pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 80 dengan persentase ketuntasan 84%. Selain ranah kognitif, hasil belajar ranah afektif menunjukan rata-rata afektif siswa pada siklus I 78,31 dan mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II menjadi 83,90. Berdasarkan hasil yang dicapai, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan teknik diagram Roundhouse melalui model pembelajaran CIRC untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar Biologi dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar Biologi kelas X MIA 3 SMA Negeri 7 Kota Bogor.

Abstract

The aims of the research are: a) analyzing the basic competences of natural and social sciences subjects which are relevant to the learning of disaster mitigation; b) analyzing the theme that can be added by the material of disaster mitigation through the subjects of natural and social sciences. The research employed the approach of descriptive qualitative with the method of expert judgment. The analysis of basic competences of natural and social sciences subjects employed the criteria of objective and target of the learning of disaster mitigation, while theme analysis used the technique of Multi Criteria Analysis (MCA). The analysis was done to the teacher book from theme 1 until theme 9. The research result shows that the K3 and K4 of natural science subject there are 3 basic competences, which are 3.3; 3.5 and 4.7 while for social science subject there are also 3 basic competences, which are 3.3; 4.3; and 4.5 and those are relevant with the learning of disaster mitigation. It also shows that the themes of 9, 2,1 and 4 can be added by the material of disaster mitigation. Therefore, it can be inferred that the materials of natural and social sciences can be added by the material of disaster mitigation in the themes mentioned above using the chosen basic competencies.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to identify and to analyze what are kinds of grammatical errors made by the eighth-grade learners when they wrote the recount text. The design of this research was descriptive research design. The population of this research was the 8C learners of SMP Negeri 8 Bogor and the number of the sample was 31 learners. The researcher used three methods for getting the data; they were data from documentation, data from questionnaire, and data from the interview. The result of this research indicated that the 8C learners of SMP Negeri 8 Bogor had poor ability in writing the recount text. The highest percentage errors were made in the simple past tense by 83.8%, the second one was using in subject-verb agreement by 67.7%, the third one was preposition by 32.2%, and the last errors was pronoun 16.1%. Furthermore, based on the result of the questionnaire, most of the learners responded that they felt difficult in constructing grammatical sentences especially in the use past tense and it was appropriate with the result of the learners’ work and the answer of the interview. In the current research, errors in past tense was more dominant than errors in subject verb agreement, errors in preposition, and errors in pronoun.

Abstract

The study is aimed at investigating the implementation of Contextual Learning Model in improving students’ ability and their obstacles to write biography. The study was conducted to the students of SMPN 2, Kabandungan, Kabupaten Sukabumi grade VII. Experimental method was employed. There were a control class and an experimental class. The data was collected through test and questionnaire. The sample was taken by using saturated sampling technique. The first hypothesis which stated that the model of contextual learning could improve the ability of students at SMPN 2, Kabandungan, Kabupaten Sukabumi grade VII to write biography is proven to be true. It could be seen from the students’ score of pretest in the experimental class whose average reached 51,0 while the average of the posttest score was 78,3. The average score of students’ pretest in the control class was 47,4 and the model of students as facilitator and explaining was implemented. At the end, the average score of the post test was 65,6. From the score gained, it is clear that the model of contextual learning was more effective to improve students’ ability in writing biography. Based on the mean calculation using t-test formula, it was gained that to =3,72, t0,95=1,67 and the value of t0,99=2,39. It means that to is higher than tt with the comparison of 1,67 less than 3,72 more than 2,39. It clearly shows that the contextual model implemented in the experimental class could improve the students’ biography writing skill. The second hypothesis which stated that the students encountered problems in writing biography was also proven to be true. Based on the result of questionnaire analysis, there were 71% of the students encountering problems in developing the identity of the character, 54% encountering problems in applying the grammar of writing biography, and 49% students encountering problems when they explained the great attitudes of the character. Therefore, it can be concluded that the contextual learning model could improve students’ ability to write biography even though the students still encountered problems.

Abstract

EFFORTS TO IMPROVE STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES IN INTERNATIONAL MUSIC ARRANGEMENT CULTURAL ARTS LESSONS USING AUDIO VISUAL LEARNING MEDIA This research departs from the phenomenon that occurs in class, namely the lack of understanding of composing a song using audiovisual media. This study aims to (1) find out that audio visual learning media can improve student learning outcomes about international music arrangements. (2) To describe the process of improving student learning outcomes about International Music Arrangements before and after using audio-visual learning media. (3) To measure the magnitude of the increase in student learning outcomes about International Music Arrangements after using audio-visual learning media. Audio-visual learning media can improve student learning outcomes on International Music Arrangement material in SMA Negeri 9 Bogor.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dengan pendekatan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan secara kolaboratif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA tentang energi dan perubahannya tentang sumber dan bentuk energi di kelas III B SD Negeri Kaung Luwuk Bogor melalui penerapan model model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas III B di SD Negeri Kawung Luwuk sebanyak 29 siswa, dengan komposisi perempuan 13 siswa dan laki-laki 16 siswa. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Teknik dan alat pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif terhadap data berupa dokumen hasil pekerjaan siswa, daftar nilai dan lembaran observasi Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) dapat menjadi variasi pembelajaran yang menyenangkan bagi peserta didik sehingga terbukti meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik di Kelas III B SD Negeri Kawung Luwuk Bogor. Sebelum menggunakan Model Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) hasil belajar peserta didik hanya mencapai nilai rata-rata 66,72 kemudian terjadi peningkatan setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) menjadi 73,62 pada siklus 1 dan 81,72 pada siklus 2. Oleh  karena itu penerapan Model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) yang disesuaikan dengan  materi pembelajaran dapat menciptakan situasi belajar yang menyenangkan sehingga terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

This research aims  to improve the competence of SMA Negeri 6 Bogor teachers in implementing a scientific learning approach through In House Training (IHT). The research was carried out for four months, from July to October 2019. Based on the results of the research, the results of the understanding of SMA Negeri 6 Bogor teachers on the scientific approach after the implementation of In House Training (IHT) increased. This could be seen from the results of the pre-test and post-test, namely the average results of 67.05 in the pre-test and 85.3 in the post-test. Good understanding in theory has correlation with practice. This could be seen from the results of peer teaching observations about the implementation of scientific learning approach with an average value of 80.85, the highest score of 85 obtained by 4 teachers, a score of 83 obtained by 2 people and there are still 50% of teachers who get a score between 70 -76.77. It could be concluded that the implementation of In House Training (IHT) is effective in increasing the competence of SMA Negeri 6 Bogor teachers in implementing the scientific learning approach.

Abstract

The study is aimed to reveal the relationship between learning motivation, portfolio based assessment with the students’ writing ability. The study was conducted in second semester of English Education Study Program in Faculty of Teachers Training and Educational Sciences, Pakuan University. The population of the study is the second semester of the English Department, Faculty of Teachers Training and Educational Sciences, Pakuan University. From the population, the sample of the study is two classes with 56 students. The method of the study is correlative study with the technique of data analysis multiple regression. The instruments used by the researcher are motivation questionnaire, portfolio project, questionnaire on students’ perception toward portfolio based assessment, and writing test. From the study, it can be concluded that the students’ learning motivation has significant positive relationship with the students’ writing ability. The second result is the positive relationship between portfolio based assessment and the students’ writing ability. From the data analysis, it is found out that the students who got high score in their portfolio project, obtained high score in writing test.
